Hi,

I have been smiling for days now from rain in Texas to sweet emails and texts.

The past few days, we've had nothing but pearly overcast skies and intermittent showers of very chilly rainfall and sitting near the west windows of my home, earlier, I wished that the clouds would somehow float on and let the warm sunshine of fall, come back.

And well... it's as if someone heard my quiet thoughts because right now, the clouds are making way for the radiance and warmth of the sun.

My crazy hard work day made me smile... its so worth it!

On my way to the store, I was waiting to turn, and was blocking the crosswalk...a young boy was approaching on his bike, so I backed up to let him go across without having to meander in the road. As he went by he smiled and said, "thank you!"....

Little things like this renew my hope for humanity <3

I spent yesterday afternoon with a couple of our users at the other building. My team codes their software needs, provides support, trouble-shoots server issues, etc.

This one fellow was having issue with an application I wrote around three years ago - it would not perform the upload portion, the correct error message displayed indicating an unknown ID. This guy is not in the "popular in-crowd" over in our users group. People make fun of him and I find this annoying. Turns out 8 IDs were added and we should have been given a heads up but were not. I talked to my supervisor this morning, explained what was going on. He said he would email the chief and assistant chief over there about it. I told him to be sure, in this email, to give my user a big pat on the back for making the discovery, plus do a courtesy copy to both my user and my user's supervisor. I was afraid my supervisor would leave it out. I would not have been surprised if he did but (YAY) he didn't. Grapevine told me this morning it made user's day. *big smile*

I will have a word on tomorrow with my supervisor about why he didn't remind the chief and assistant chief to tell us when new IDs will be introduced into our system. They have known about these 8 new IDs since May. He did not even say that in the email and I thought that part was a given. My supervisor is very diplomatic but way too passive. I find the passive crap infuriating.

Me: *falling backwards laughing* "I am SO posting that!"

Hym: *as hy continues to read down the wall of what I've requested* "Shannon is the wettest? Okayyyyy then... Wait, I can actually give it to you 4 ways! But.. you'd probably like it better 3 ways.."

(referring to her two FB accounts, the kiddo's and the one for our dogs..oh the things they do for items for FV2!)

Phone call while eating my lunch:

(ordinary chatting and then this)

Me: Did you sleep well?

Her: I did. Sorry I passed out. I didn't realize I was so tired.

Me: Uh huh. Whatever Miss. You fall asleep at my house so often I'm starting to worry that you find me boring.

Her: I do not! (laughter)

Me: Do not what? Fall asleep at my house often or think I'm boring?

Her: Either! Both!

Me: Please! The bed in that room used to be my extra closet. Because of your Nic-induced narcolepsy I've got laundry all over my room instead. You ruined my organization.

Her: (more laughing and a change of subject) I was so tired I don't even remember going to bed.

Me: You didn't "go" so much as you were carried.

Her: (silence for 30 seconds) You carried me upstairs?

Me: Yeah? I thought you'd be uncomfortable sleeping in a chair the whole night. That a problem?

Her: You carried me?

Me: I'm strong that way. You should see me. I'm flexing now. (sitting at my desk with my feet up, drinking coffee and unwrapping the second of a 2 Milky Way lunch)

Her: Wow! I better put some weight back on. I'm kidnappable now!

What made me smile....
Not sure..just am. It's good to smile everyday. Especially good if you don't even have a good reason...

Hearing unexpected words from s special lady ad I looked in her eyes. Knowing the words you are becoming special were heart felt and the no rush wasn't a back our put one hell of a smile on my face and amazing as that is she doesn't belong to this site.

Hi,

I usually post about grocery shopping by myself on the zombie thread but this one belongs here. I went grocery shopping by myself today and instead of feeling bummed about it I was happy just like I have been all week.

So today in the store I smiled at the other shoppers and they smiled back at me.
