It was just announced that he accepted the invitation, and of course he would because it's another 5 minutes in the limelight, from C.P.A.C. to speak. I can just imagine the feeding frenzy that'll occur!

House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy was unequivocal when asked if Trump should be speaking this Sunday at CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference -- the large gathering of GOP and conservative leaders.

House GOP Conference Chair Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., the third-ranking House Republican, who voted to impeach Trump and became his target, gave a different answer.

"That's up to CPAC ... I don't believe that he should be playing a role in the future of the party or the country," Cheney said as she stood behind McCarthy.

Rep. Steve Scalise, the second-ranking House Republican, who also has visited Trump in Florida, shook his head.

McCarthy, who was at the microphone, had a pained look on his face when Cheney made her comment.

"On that high note, thank you!" McCarthy said to end the news conference.

Wisconsin School Board Members Vote Against Free Meal Program Because They Don't Want Families to 'Become Spoiled'

Man. We really need to rethink and rework some of our values in this country.

Members of the Waukesha, Wis. Board of Education are in hot water after opting out of a federal program that would provide free meals for all of the district’s students regardless of their family’s financial situations.

The Washington Post reports that Waukesha is the only eligible school district in Wisconsin that chose to return to offering either free or reduced-price instead of the universally free option that all public schools in the state adopted last year when the COVID-19 pandemic really started to kick it up a notch.

The universal program is an extension of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Seamless Summer Option, which will provide free meals to all students through June 30, 2022, according to the Post.

You might think the board’s decision is strange since we are still in a pandemic and many families are still struggling financially because of it. It gets worse when reading some of the reasons for the decision, which was made in June.

A document from the board outlined a worry about the program’s effects on applications for the National School Lunch Program after the universal offering expires.

“As we get back to whatever you want to believe normal means, we have decisions to make,” Joseph Como Jr., president of the school board, said at the June meeting. “I would say this is part of normalization.”

Karin Rajnicek, a school board member, said the free program made it easy for families to “become spoiled.” Darren Clark, assistant superintendent for business services, said there could be a “slow addiction” to the service.

So, never mind the fact that in March, statistics compiled by Feeding America found that about 13 million kids may experience food insecurity this year–with Black, Latino and Native American children being disproportionately affected.

What matters here, at least based on these statements from the selected board members, is that these children learn to deal with the fact that they’ll just have to be hungry, because getting anything for free in this country is apparently much worse than BEING HUNGRY DURING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC.

Not only is that reasoning insanity defined, but the board president’s insistence that this is a step toward normalcy doesn’t make any sense either. This is not a normal time. At the rate things are going, it won’t be normal for a long while!

Plus, why is the free or reduced-price meal plan still the norm for many public schools? The Post reports that other school board members and Waukesha district employees notice that it still props up barriers for kids who may depend on school lunches as their only consistent meal during the academic year.

Other members noted students had forgone meals funded by the National School Lunch Program in previous years. Jess Huinker, an executive assistant for the district, said she had noticed that some did not eat during school because they either did not qualify for free or reduced-price options or because their parents did not submit applications.

“We have seen kids that don’t eat,” she said.

WISN 12, an ABC affiliate, reports that dozens of protestors rallied against the school board’s decision outside of the district headquarters on Friday.

Per WISN:

“By opting out of this free federal meal program, they have taken away meals from families that are in the in-between. They might not qualify for free and reduced lunches but could still use a helping hand, and we want to help families in the school district, and we feel our presence here will help do that,” rally organizer David Dringenburg said.

The Post reports that after two months of petitions and rallies similar to the one on Friday, the board will have a special meeting to discuss possible action on the district’s approach to the Seamless Summer Option on Monday.

Utah State football coach Blake Anderson apologized on Friday after he was caught on a recording telling his players earlier this year that it “has never been more glamorized to be the victim” of sexual assault.

Anderson’s comments came from a team meeting during fall camp. According to the Tribune, Anderson warned players that they are “way more at risk” of being accused of sexual assault because they are athletes, and said that being a victim of sexual assault has “never been more talked about in the news [than] right now.”

The university launched an investigation into the comments on Thursday, which surfaced after a recording published by the Salt Lake Tribune and mentioned in a Title IX lawsuit filed against the school by a student.

“In the course of that conversation, I used a phrase regarding victims of wrongdoing to magnify that message to our team, but after reading my comments in the transcript that was released, I realize my choice of words was hurtful,” Anderson said in a statement through the school. “I regret the words I used, and I apologize to anyone who has bravely come forward with allegations of wrongdoing. We have to do everything we can to encourage and protect anybody who has been the victim of a wrong, or whose personal rights have been violated. Anyone who knows me knows how strongly I feel about this. Giving victims a safe platform to address wrongs they’ve suffered is always the right thing to do, and something I’ll always stand for.”

The NFL will stop mandating weekly COVID-19 tests for asymptomatic vaccinated players, according to memos distributed Saturday that described a major shift in the league's approach to the pandemic.

The new protocols, which take effect next week, could allow the virus to spread undetected through locker rooms, and could increase opportunities for infected but otherwise healthy players to participate in games.

Kyle Rittenhouse claimed he'll attend Texas A&M University on a podcast, but university officials tell a different story, saying he has not been admitted as a student. During an appearance on “The Charlie Kirk Show,” a conservative podcast, Rittenhouse proudly put on a Texas A&M cap and said he’d be attending the university.

“I’m going to be going there. It’s going to be awesome,” the 19-year-old said during the episode, which aired Friday on YouTube. “Beautiful campus, amazing people, amazing food.”

However, a university official said he will not be attending the school. “He has not been admitted as a student this summer or fall,” university spokesperson Kelly Brown told NBC News Monday afternoon.

In case you've forgotten who Rittenhouse is, he was the 17 year old who drove from his home in Antioch, Illinois, to Kenosha, Wisconsin, in response to protests for shooting a Black man by a white officer. Rittenhouse had said he wanted to help law enforcement protect property amid civil unrest. He was accused of fatally shooting two men and injuring another with his rifle. He was acquitted of multiple felony charges during his high-profile trial, in which he argued he acted in self-defense.

Wherever he goes, lets hope he leaves his AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle at home!
 

Kyle Rittenhouse now says he’s going to Blinn College, after Texas A&M said he’s not a student!

Days after he told a conservative podcast that he was going to Texas A&M University, Kyle Rittenhouse corrected himself on Twitter to say that he is planning to attend Blinn College, a two-year public college, this year.

“Unfortunately, the end of my high school career was robbed from me,” Rittenhouse wrote Monday afternoon on Twitter. “I didn’t have the time other students get to properly prepare for the future. I look forward to attending Blinn College District this year, a feeder school for Texas A&M. I’m excited to join Texas A&M in 2023!”

IMHO If the Whining little bitch hadn't gone to Kenosha, he'd of had time to prepare!
