I enjoy this thread ^_^ !

Miss Platinum - Give Me The Food

So. Much. Fun.
So. Much. Charm.

(And all the "opa"s, "ayde"s and those hanging sausages are really familiar... :giggle: )

Sidenote: what subtle product placement, eh :D ?

From Romania to Roma(ny) [names unrelated]: Esma Redžepova - Čaje šukarije (Beautiful girl)

(Bah, couldn't find a vid that had - good sound, - picture and was - interesting.)
Used on the Borat soundtrack - didn't know that!

Marija Šerifović - Molitva, the song with which she won the 2007 Eurovision contest
(not really into Eurovision-like music, but this one I liked, it's a slower one.)

There have been some hurtful comments regarding her butch look :( .
And, of course, prying into her personal life...

Karin Dreijer of The Knife (with her brother Olof) and Fever Ray (solo):

http://www.trashmenagerie.com/images...johanrenck.jpg http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/...139402Low1.jpg

'Haunting' has probably been overused when describing her voice, but that's what it is.

Here in Röyksopp's What Else Is There?
One of the most beautiful songs I've heard in the last 5 years.

And in her own projects: [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxqeRMoYA5g"]YouTube- The Knife - Silent Shout[/nomedia]

I took her acceptance speech as a clever commentary- protest even- against the whole superficial beauty culture and fakeness of show biz awards shows...but maybe I'm reading too much into her intentions and maybe she was just being "weird". (Not that there's anything wrong with that ;)

My favourite song by the slits:

RockOn 11-02-2010 11:41 AM

An ex of mine was a gifted pianist. Voice too. I wish I had a photo of her hands to post here. She has beautiful hands.

It always made me want to jump her when she would play the piano and sing love ballads to me. She knew this ... and encouraged it.

;)

My all time favorite, Meg Christian, does my favorite track from her discography!!!

I remember listening to lesbian feminist music waaay back in the 70's and 80's. Several of my best friends I served with in the Marine Corps had whole libraries of women's music and we used to play it at parties and such. This particular tune by Meg Christian was something we'd all gather round and sing to.

Here's to remembering the good times, my good friends and my own personal HERstory!!! :winky::clap:
