I would blend them both, if possible.

Is it better to know the date of your death (if that were possible) or live without knowing?

I think it depends on the person. To me, there's no right answer.

Is it better to wake up without a migraine or without pain in your body?

Without a migraine, probably. I can't do anything with a migraine.

Is it better to teach children mostly how to survive (in an extreme sense) and take care of themselves or how to be a societal norm (thereby ensuring they have friends and family their whole life who will likely help them to survive)?

Teaching children how to survive and how to take care of themselves provides a greater reward than teaching them how to depend on others who may or may not be there for them. I have always been a firm believer in depending on myself before relying on others.

Is it better to save cash in case of impending doom or to purchase food supplies which last for years in the event of a catastrophe.

I think it depends on the situation.

Is it better to correct a person if they mispronounced a word while speaking with you, or let it pass?

Is it better to use SPF 30 or 50 if you play in the sun, or wait until evening to swim outdoors and play ball?

Is it better to leave a menial tip for a waitress/waiter or not tip at all?

I don’t dine out unless I can afford to tip and I only tip average for average service, excellent for excellent service. If the service is poor I speak with the server and give them a chance to improve, correct it because that is how they learn. If after speaking with them the service still continues to be poor then I don’t leave just a few pennies, it’s definitely better to leave nothing and speak with management if service has really been all that appallingly bad.

Is it better, in general, to bide your time or hurry things along?

Commando, unlike Britney Spears I feel confident about my ability to pull it off, do it stealth, braless with this much up top – not so much.

Is it better to attempt it without the lube or whip them for forgetting it?

hmmm I don't put that responsibility on my partner, so better to attempt without it

Is it better to live as you may pass tomorrow (carpe diem) or live as if you will live to be a 100, even financially?

Be clear but not necessarily loud. Hinting around leads to confusion.

Is it better to end a very good long-term relationship suddenly, with a clean break, or remain friends?

Clean break, then maybe friends after some time passes.
Is it better to follow traditional fashion rules (no black & brown, no gold & silver, no white after labor day) or just do what you want?

Yes

Try to walk a mile in someone's shoes. The other is easier but this way you might learn something useful about yourself and/or others.

I would have to say it's better to fail to make a good impression. If your effort is there, and you make some type of noticed impact, that seems better than underwhelming and falling off the grid.

Is it better to be late for work by 10 mins or 1 hour, if you have an excuse for both?

I'd go for the 1 hour (if you have a decent boss and you're still paid in full)

Is it better to drink milk from cows that have been out grazing in green, grassy fields and exposed to natural sunlight etc or to have milk supplied by intensive dairy farming (this practice the cows are kept indoors fed on a diet of man made feed etc)

I think it's better for the cow for natural environments, and that, in turn, is better for us and dairy products we consume.

Is it better to have zoos and enclosed artificial animal exhibits for the sake of teaching and propagating species, or is it always better that an animal exists in its natural environment, free from any man-created impediment?

In its natural environment and free from man-made restrictions.

Leave it on, because my computer monitor has a wonky power button with a severely limited remaining lifespan, so if I turn it off, I might never get it to turn back on again.

Is it better to eat delicious, natural, full-fat and full of natural organisms, non-BGH and non-antibiotic-laden yogurt, or to eat mass-produced, brand name, fat-free, low calorie, low organisms, milk-of-questionable-parentage, thickened-with-gelatin yogurt?

Of your two choices, I think it's better the eat the full-fat and natural organisms than the mass produced low-cal and fat-free foods.

Is it better to give someone the answer to a puzzle or to let them work it out on their own?

Is it better to lie in the sun to tan or to wear makeup with all kinds of chemicals in it and which makes you appear to be tanned?

Definitely for me, I would rather lie in the sun, I don't wear makeup nor do I need more chemicals in my body...

If lost in the woods would you rather eat bugs for protein or starve and just drink clean water?

It would be better to eat bugs (I'd start with ants the way I'm feeling about those critters these days).

When giving bad news, is it better to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothin' but the truth or is it better to sugarcoat the truth (without lying) to help ease the impact?

I like to tell it like it is, but I also am gentle in the delivery of the news so as to ease its' impact.

Is it better to save your money throughout your lifetime so as to always have a nest egg to fall back on should you need the funds, or to spend your money on whatever suits you, whenever, as you never know how long you'll live?
