Love is......Knowing hard limits and trust.

Love is the weather of life.
Love is when you and I become one. Love is the sweetest poison ever. Love is not free. The price is your heart. Love is about trust, happiness and compassion. Love is about avoiding jealousy, overcoming ignorance, and buidling confidence. Love is about what you say, what you mean, and what you do. Love is about seeing people for who they are and not what they have. Love is about choosing to use your Life to touch someone else in a way that could never have been achieved otherwise. |
Being present for, paying attention to, and respectful of the one you love -- this includes oneself.

To Me Love is...
Loving with your whole heart always, not just when it's convenient to you.
Seeing the light even when times are hard. Working out problems. Adapting and compromise. Loyal above anything else. Showing what you can give, not what you can benefit from or take. Thinking of the other person in everything you do. Caring about *our* future, not just *yours*. Appreciation. Not selfish. Making her smile when she doesn't want to. Letting her know how good she is when she can't see it for herself. Guidance and support. Appreciating all the little things you adore as well as the ones that drive you nuts and being able to smile at them all. Being smart enough to know what you have, and making sure she knows it every chance you get. Not giving up just because the road gets bumpy. Finding the good and letting go of the bad. Sharing your lives together. Loving beyond faults and forgiving the past. Honest even when it's scary. Eternal not fleeting. Seeing and appreciating what you DO have and NOT constantly thinking about what you don't have or could have etc... Not always looking for the next best thing out there. Hard but worth it all. It's the most beautiful gift you can give or receive. Taking chances. Waiting for the right person, not taking what's *there*. Final note, sometimes love is looking at you in the face, are you wise enough to see it? A lot of the time we tend to pick and choose, I think that is human nature (to a degree), but if you can slow down a moment and look closer...see the bigger picture, chances are you just might see your soul mate has been there with you all along..waiting for you to figure it out. I could go on but you get the idea. |

... agreeing on what love really is (not constantly fighting over it), & wanting what is best for yourself. i think if those two things are true, real love will come & stay.

The affection, respect, trust and dignity shared between two long time friends...
and The affection, respect, trust and dignity shared between two new friends that are in the "discovery phase" of learning about each other... Each friendship feels slightly different, in good ways... different kinds or levels of affection (how many different meanings does Italy have for "Amore"?), different feelings of respect because we all come from different walks of life, different feelings of trust and reasons why we feel we can trust the new or long time friend...but it feels good to trust and be trusted (especially with each other's safety and emotional well being) ... and Love is (no matter the meaning or the level of friendship or connection to each other) is treating each other with dignity... Love is....enjoying the company, laughter and affection from each friend... and being thankful for the connection you share with them... Love is.... when you can't imagine life without them... Love is also adopting a slow pace at getting to know new friends and not pressuring each other... |

A long time ago, in a poetry class, one of my students wrote, "Love is a mean dog."
Another student wrote, "Love is a flower that blooms in the night, and sometimes by day." We talked about each analogy and what it says about that writer's experience with love. I think love changes all the time. |

Going somewhere, or doing things that are not particularly interesting or fun for you, just because that place or activity makes their eyes light up with excitement...Suddenly finding that you enjoy these things or places as much as they do, just because you're together and their delight makes it fun and interesting to you...

The trust and honesty in Our relationship, and not having to worry, ever.. i look at Him, hear His words, and feel so at peace, loved and ready to take everything on that needs doing, because i know We're always, always so good, real, connected and on the same path.. |
