Darlin', don't sweat it. We have until the end of March to finish! :)

Who is doing a pink/green square? Do we have enough of those?

Bit - I have asked Jess to remind me to pack up that pink/green yarn and send it to ya!

amiyesiam 01-13-2010 08:20 PM

I did a pink and green square!

Arwen 01-15-2010 12:23 PM

I posted a pic (the others got deleted after the upgrade...oops) of the five squares I've done so far. :)

amiyesiam 01-15-2010 12:29 PM

They look great Arwen!!

wonder how everyone else is doing?

amiyesiam 01-24-2010 01:17 AM

I put up a pic of my square I did to replace #11!
I tried something new

sweetcali 01-31-2010 09:24 PM

I have 4 squares knitted so far. I am absolutely loving it. Annnnndddddd all because of ya'll I now have one afghan finished and am working on the next.

I don't remember if I committed to making a pink and green square or not. So if I didn't I am committing to it now. LOL

Awesome!!!!!!!

Bit 02-01-2010 11:57 AM

I have four squares done but got derailed on the fifth--will have to get back to it soon.

Arwen, when I put the pink-n-green swapghan together, do I mail it to you, or to Dusa?

Medusa, please. I'll lose it in a heartbeat.

And we now have the Reunion in August so we have a date for that P-n-G swapghan!

I'm taking lessons on how to read crochet patterns. I bought a book of dishcloths. I am going to turn some of those into squares I hope. LOL

I have five more to go.

How is everyone else doing? We are still missing some addresses on the file on the YahooGroup.

amiyesiam 02-16-2010 11:10 PM

I posted some pictures of more squares!

hope everyone is having fun!

Ergonomic crochet hooks are saving me! I slowed down drastically on the crocheting but I can keep going with much less pain now. Working on my pink n green square and will get back to the autumn tones soon.

:cheer:

I'm glad they worked for you! They just didn't for me.

Arwen 02-19-2010 11:02 AM

Clover crochet hooks really make a diference for me. Of course i lose them a lot and they are EXPENSIVE. 5-7 for a hook takes a bite out of my budget.

And I need to go get one because I have a project that is going to need a bigger hook than I currently have. WHINE. :)

Squares got put on hold. I have 6 finished with the 7th in progress. So that means only 2 more after that. W00t! Please make sure your name and address are in the Yahoogroup database!

And pretty please, could everyone do a check in? I'm getting concerned because I haven't heard from some of you. If you are not doing this, you really need to let us know so we can adjust what we are doing. thanks!:kissy:

amiyesiam 02-19-2010 11:24 AM

checking in!

Bit 02-20-2010 09:21 PM

Checking in, and I emailed Nick, too.

{{{{{{{{{{{{Christie}}}}}}}}}}}}}} you're such a sweetheart!

So. I was shocked to realize I wasn't as done as I thought; mine all needed another row. My new tally is pink-n-green, done; two autumns, done; three autumns, need one more row. Then I'll be back to making more autumn squares.

Should we wait to mail them out until we have our full sets done? or should we mail them as we finish them?

Bit 02-24-2010 10:31 AM

Arwen, Nick says he's still in. He's been working a lot of double shifts and is beat, but he'll be back.

fishinabaggie 03-07-2010 07:57 PM

The Fish is checking in!

Hi all.
I am having a good time making my squares! :) I am working on #7 in the autumn tones.
I have made 2 for the pink-n-green afghan < I was hoping to make a couple of others too. Is that over kill?? Should I just stick with the two I made and go back under my yarn rock now? Someone advise me.......before I start making pink and green squares for everyone on the site!!! LOL
Liz/fishinabaggie

Bit 03-07-2010 08:09 PM

More pink and green squares are GREAT, Liz! I was going to make extra for the raffleghan too, to make it bigger. Thanks for yours also!!

I keep thinking I have my squares all caught up and then I find a mistake and have to fix it. :knit: So the count now is three finished, the fourth with one row to go, and the fifth with two rows to go. Sheesh. *sheepish look*

But the good news is that I only have three rows to go and I can start my sixth square, right?

So I have a question... should I wait until I have them all done to start sending them out, or should I send them out as I finish each one?

sweetcali 03-07-2010 11:39 PM

Welll.....So I thought I was almost done with the squares for the swapghan then I remeasured. :| Don't ask me how I did it; but I swear they measured 12 x 12, but ummmm I have a couple that are a litttle bit longer then 12 x12. So unless someone doesn't mind one that is a tad longer then I shall be re-knitting them. ugh....

I figured I would send mine all out at once.

As far as the raffleghan I will knit those when I am done with the swapghan.

do not redo mine, it will be fine, I can block it to go with mine.

Thank you ami!! I seriously could have thought they all measured out. Who knows what happened. LOL

sweetcali

Arwen 03-08-2010 12:30 AM

I'm good! I have at least 6 squares. :)

Bit 03-08-2010 06:37 AM

Hey sweetcali, don't redo my square either--I'm going to set them all with sashing like a quilt, so it will work out just fine.

I can really relate to thinking they all measured out; mine turned out to be eleven inches after I remeasured, and I was shocked, lol....

christie 03-08-2010 06:43 AM

I have the same issue in that some of mine came out bigger. I have them all done, and thought that once I finish the afghan I am making for Momma's 75th bday later this month, I would take off the extra rows before I send them out.

One would think that since I count things for a living, I woulda noticed sooner!! ugh.

Bit 03-08-2010 07:34 AM

Okay, if so many of us are having trouble getting to exactly twelve inches, I don't feel so silly!

For everyone that is making squares for me, if they don't come out exactly at twelve, please don't worry, k? You can mail to me as they are.

Arwen 03-08-2010 12:34 PM

It's our first time to do this, y'all. It will all be FABULOUS! I need to get mine finished. :)

amiyesiam 03-20-2010 12:28 PM

Hi everyone!
how are we doing?
is our dead line still the same?
and if you need my address pm me!
I can not wait to get started on this

on the other hand
things that should get done first
final sleeve of my first sweater
so I can finnish it

5 books that need read

beaded coaster project I need to do

pen pal project I need to do

ya, sigh
never enough time

Bit 03-20-2010 12:52 PM

Five finished; the sixth one started, about half-done with it. :cheesy:

sweetcali 03-20-2010 07:39 PM

O.K. So I checked the yahoo group and I believe it was a total of 9 needed. I will check one more time to be sure; HOWEVER I am done with alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll 9 squares for the swapghan. WOOOT!!!..

Well almost done I am going to handwash them and block them before I send them out.

Now I just need verification on raffleghan and I can work on that.

I know my silly questions might bother some of you; however I ask them because well while I was on chemo it kinda screwed messed up my thinking patterns. So I kinda have to ask so that I make sure that I understand what it is that I think I am understanding.

So thank all of you for your love and patience with me.

sweetcali

Bit 03-21-2010 09:51 PM

But sweetcali.... you didn't ask any questions... *puzzled*

I'm thinking maybe you wanted to ask about the raffleghan? You make as many pink and green squares as you feel like making, and then send them to me (my addy is in the yahoo database). I'll put all the squares together and send the raffleghan on to Medusa.

Is that what you wanted to know, or did I guess wrong? *soft smile*

Arwen 03-22-2010 11:25 AM

Check the Yahoogroups files please. If your address is not there, we need it ASAP. Deadline is looming. :)

Calibaby, the raffleghan is also 12" squares in pink and green. I have two of those to send to BittyBit.

I have seven squares done. I need to check how many we are. From the top of my head:

Arwen
Bit
Amiyesiam
Christie
SweetCali
Papihigleo
Linus
K
FishInABaggie

That's nine. Three dropped out. Were we ever at twelve? We have eight addresses in the database. Since Linus and K share quarters, that's right.

So...I think there are only nine of us total. So we each need to make eight squares to send. :) And then however many we each want for our own blankets.

Bit 03-27-2010 03:18 PM

Okay! So I've got seven done! :cheer:

And now I'm outta yarn. :whoop:

I dunno whether to redo some of what I have to get a fourth color in there--and thereby have enough to finish all nine squares--or try to match colors and buy more.

I think I'm sorry I already wove in all my yarn tails. *rueful smile*

Oooooooooooooooooopsie.

I missed the deadline--my apologies to you all. Squares will go out next week--I just have to find the right-sized manila envelopes.

Linus 04-03-2010 08:34 PM

We're in the same boat. I'm just finishing up my last one and won't be able to get envelopes until Friday. :(

christie 04-04-2010 05:46 AM

I missed the deadline too. Mine will go out some times this week.

amiyesiam 04-04-2010 10:16 AM

Ok, I thought the dead line was later
mine are done and go out in fridays mail.

I have 2 pink and green ones done and will be doing a 3rd this week.
Cath, would you like a piece of drift wood from Lake Erie, when I send the squares?

Bit 04-04-2010 11:29 AM

Well, Ami... do I have to give it to the dog? ~laughing over the elkhorn still~ Oh, YES, I would love to have a piece of driftwood! You sure know how to tickle a girl's heart! *happy dance*

I'm TRULY glad to see that I am not the only one that missed the original deadline. I vote we move it a couple weeks, so that none of us are late. *grin*

ya know, the elk horn was for the dog, it was gotten at a actual doggy store.
the drift wood is for you, cause you like crafty things! It would be karmatic justice if the dog got a hold of it though

maybe the dead line should be my birthday!!!!!!!!! April 24th! that gives everyone time.
