Good morning everyone :)

:bringcoffee: I see the breakfast is all ready...how sweet! :rrose:

I'll add some blueberry muffins, and a bowl of fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries....and a little pitcher of cream...just because. :)

I had a wildly productive day yesterday and it felt really good, so I've vowed to repeat it today and get more done. Because of the blood pressure meds they have me on I have to work in bits rather than long stretches, but if I keep at it I manage to accomplish a lot by the end of the day.

One funny thing...I found a flea on one of our kitties, so decided yesterday was the day for flea baths for the dogs and flea drops on the kitties. We don't want fleas to get even a toe hold when there are 6 animals in the house. Sooooo....washed the dogs (they're all soft and fluffy and smell so good now)....and then tried a new flea drop on the cats. I had been using Frontline, but really didn't like the idea of putting strong poison right on the animals. Since only one goes outside, they're really only picking up a stray flea that someone else brings inside. Anyway...I tried a new, natural product that has peppermint oil, clove oil and lemongrass oil. I know those are all things insects hate so I'm hoping it works. The funny part though...all evening and still this morning, it's like having 4 furry air fresheners running around the house. They smell so goooooooood! :cheesy:

Have a great day everyone :rrose: I'll be back later.

:lips: to my sweetie and a snuggle while she's :alarm: :stillheart:

I am going to add some Grits and oatmeal to the breakfast spread.

Lipstix, you should really talk to your Dean at the University about this crackpot internshipe. How are you supposed to graduate with the knowledge of what you have been taught, when you sit and do paperwork all day? What college do you attend? I know DeVry was able to help me get an internship, and even though I pushed paper all day, it taught me a lot about why I would never want to work in a office environment. I quit over a year after I started, the women offered me a paid position and when I quit, she owed me three paychecks.

Hope you all have a good day, I have to take my nephew home and then go to the college and see what the status of everything is.

Zimmy

Zimmy you thinkI should talk to the dean of the school huh, The school is Dover Business College which is a division of Berkeley College and yes you are right I am never going to learn anything about being a MA by just doing paperwork!! I will do that but I can't do it today have to go into the office in a little while, will try tomorrow!! Thanks

let us know if it works...i give Ivan the Terrier a brewer's yeast and garlic supplement with every meal...also he wears a Hartz flea collar- i know they are dangerous but he's been wearing them off and on for 16 years lol

we had a really bad tick infestation in January (during a no flea collar period) i was told frontline would kill them and they would just drop off within 24-48 hours but that was soooooo not the case. Baths, sprays, carpet powder, bombings- they held on till we went to the hartz collar and garlic routine

lipstixgal 07-21-2010 03:01 PM

Jo let us know if the flea and tick medicine works, too bad about your blood pressure meds I didn't know that but know this that you must take those every day!!

Oh well another unproductive day at the internship site, all paperwork, they are just using me for the grunt work for sure. Oh well hopefully they won't offer me a position there because I won't take it no way.

I am going to try to talk to the Dean of the school and see what she says about it.
On a lighter note what's for dinner,,I worked like a dog today so I'm starved!!

lipstixgal 07-21-2010 03:37 PM

Ok making some mushrooms to put on JENNY PIZZA! And a salad too yumo!!

evenin everyone.

i am exhausted. yesterday i worked 15 hours, today was only 12 hours.

hope y'all are doing alright.

Jo...i also will be lookin to see if that flea stuff worked for ya. well, not for you but for your animals...lol. i have a yorkie who doesnt have fleas and would like to keep it that way. i use frontline and havent had a problem. but, what you are using sounds better for the animals vs. frontline.

JustJo 07-21-2010 06:37 PM

Goo.d evening everyone :)

We've got a bit going on here this evening so I haven't been in much.

Wanted to give you all an update that the natural flea remedy worked...not a single flea on anyone. Now I'll have to see how long it lasts... :)

scootebaby 07-21-2010 07:56 PM

goooood evening kitcheneers...just popping it to see how everyone is doing and say im so glad i dont have to worry bout fleas and ticks on my Woodie....i love my crab!

:rrose: for you babygirl! just cause

Lips...not to be rude, but yes they are using you for grunt work--but as with all internships one must start at bottom if u will and work their way up....and most MAs PAs RNs etc etc do A LOT of paperwork on a daily basis...bc if everything isnt well documented then u open urself and ur place of employement up to lawsuits and stuff---gotta crawl b4 u walk...........just saying

dang Durrrrrrrr.....u work like i do sometimes

hope everyone has a good evening

Zimmeh 07-21-2010 09:27 PM

Good Evening Everyone,

Wanted to pop by and say goodnight..I have to get up early in the morning and take my youngest niece to preschool...

Night,

Zimmy

lipstixgal 07-22-2010 04:48 AM

Good Morning to you all each and everyone!! For breakfast Kitcheneers we will have blueberry pancakes because they are in season in NJ, its abundant fruit around these parts. Turkey bacon, bagels, lox and cream cheese oh and chocolate croissants because DC says she likes em and so do I.

Strong coffee and teaaa. Yeah no internship today or tomorrow, the bitch supervisor will be out of the office can't have some lowly intern working on her own now could I?

JustJo 07-22-2010 07:38 AM

Good morning everyone :)

Thanks for breakfast Lips!

I'm dashing through and grabbing coffee since the son has a doctor's appointment in an hour and a half. It's the follow up for the Lyme's disease (hoping there's no blood test for him, but betting there is - poor guy). We're crossing fingers that he gets a clean bill of health.

Hugs to all....and :lips: for my baby....

Well good luck and G-d bless hope everything goes well with your son and his Lyme's disease I know it took me a good 10 years to get better and still struggle with it on a daily basis!! It kills me everyday to go do something that is too strenuous for me so I really understand everything...

Thanks to all of you for your good wishes. I'm so relieved that the antibiotics cleared it all up!

Yeah another person cured welcome to the club!! Good news Jo. I only wishh they could have done that for me!!! Instead I had to spend about 300,000 dollars of insurance money and countless days and months, years to get somewhat better. today is not so good for me very tired from yesterday at the internship. IT IS HARD TO PUT IN A DAYS WORK!!

On to better just thinking about going to Stop and Shop for a brownie or chocolately croissant for an afternoon snack but cookies will do and iced tea oh yeah!!

Have class tonight so I won't be on 6-9 but tomorrow I get to have kosher chinese food should be interesting to see what they cook up. Never had it before in my life. It is something the Temple is doing and then services and an oneg Shabbat afterwards which includes more kosher cake and cookies so I'm pretty excited!!

JustJo 07-22-2010 12:37 PM

Thanks Lips! Yes, I'm relieved. The longer it's in your system, the harder it is to really get over it. He was on very strong antibiotics for a month, but it's done the trick. It's too bad they didn't catch yours sooner, too as that would have saved a lot of pain (not to mention money!)

Never heard of a temple doing kosher chinese food. It'll be interesting to try, I'm sure. Have fun tonight! :)

No Scoote its called cheating and I do it well, cheat of course but its only once in a while when I have a real craving for something chocolatey, going take the dogs too for a ride in the car for a while so they can get out!! Can't do the pork chops but the mashed potatoes and green beans will be fine how about some steak to add to the mix!!

Jo thanks it would have saved some money for sure. I Had two insurances that covered and medicaid also so there was really no out of pocket expenses except in the beginning when I was first diagnosed back in Jan of 92 and didn't know I had it. I have bad asthma from it a total knee replacement and arthritis in both knees well the one that is not fake doesn't have arthritis extreme tiredness in the afternoon. It almost feels like I am going to pass out if I don't lay down. And to boot I have bipolar disorder from the Lyme's disease affecting my brain so yes it is good that your son got on the antibiotics right away and doesn't have it anymore.

lipstixgal 07-22-2010 12:57 PM

Instead of stop and shop have a croissant from DD with butter and jam that will be good too. I'm awful hungry:drool: I need to get ready for school tonight tomorrow is the kosher chinese thingy and oneg with more kosher desserts!! That will be cheating too

Good Afternoon Lipstix,

We do have Dunkin Donuts, especially in the Daytona Beach/Port Orange Area. I am not sure about Kosher Deli's, but I can look it up for you. I cheated so bad yesterday on my diet...It was my stepdad's birthday and my mom sent me home with homemade carrot cake and birthday cake..After having a pretty pissy day, Elijah and I ate half of the carrot cake...:|It was cute watching him eat it, his mother didn't think he would, but that little boy was having a blast.

I am loving the bing website, here is the info for most of Florida: http://www.floridajewish.com/florida...osher_food.php

Have a good day,
