What is your favorite motivational quote or saying?

The only abnormality there is is the inability to love. Anais Nin.

Have you ever walked away from someone/something you've loved?

Probably cooking.

What's the real you haven't lost weight if you need to do so?

because it's something i'd rather hate myself for than do anything about. it's weird too because i'm not lazy. i'm physically active and i like losing weight when it does happen. but the last 5 or 6 years or so i've been in a kind of strange survival mode and it's really ramped up my obsession/addiction to food. there are days when i wonder just how long i think i'll be given the chance to abuse myself this way before there's a significant price to pay. dont get me wrong. i'm not a thinworshiper and i am glad of that. to be honest, i've never been even close to thin but i dont want to be and that's not sour grapes either. it's acknowledging that i think beauty is present in sizes other than 0/2 and that i'm always going to be an 18/20. my whole family is big people so i'm gonna be a big people too. just facts. but i'd prefer to be less big. not skinny. just less big --- because i actually want to be.

tell me about someone you most admire.

You know it's a toss up between Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama. Both have endured so much physically and mentally but neither of them gave up and remained positive. That's pretty amazing and something we/i could all learn from.

Tell me about a part of your body you don't like (because I hate my feet).

What is it in other folks you dislike most?

do/did you really know your parents? why/why not?

p.s. Kiwi. if you're a reader you might like a book called A Cave in the Snow. it's by a woman called Vicki MacKenzie. (sp?)

what i dislike in other folks is probably the same thing i dislike in myself. but if i did need to choose one thing i really hate it's to be interrupted or talked over the top of. i think it's dismissive and rude.

back to my question ---

do/did you really know your parents? why/why not?

Breathless 10-05-2012 12:56 PM

do/did you really know your parents? why/why not?

No, I would like to think that I did as I was present in the house for the first 12 years with both of them, but my step father was very abusive in all of the ways.. and my mother was in constant survival mode. I was the mouthy little girl that just needed to protect her brother and mother, there for needed breaking and to be taught the lesson.. So no, and not much has changed.. In adult years, I have become friends with my mom, and we are close, but I am still the family protector, and I still now and will always stand up for what I believe is right, even if I stand alone! :)

Dare to tell the Truth.. Did you ever have an imaginary friend as a child?

Electrocell 10-05-2012 01:02 PM

Nope no need had brother and sisters and plenty of animals around.

Do you ever dream of becoming a star?

Where you were a child... who did you want to be like as adult?

ahk 10-05-2012 01:40 PM

Do you run a lot of red lights?

Where is the farthest place you have traveled ?

Breathless 10-05-2012 01:47 PM

Where is the farthest place you have traveled ?

Little Rock.. before that would have been Texas.. I have not yet left the continent.

What are you doing for the weekend?

ahk 10-05-2012 01:50 PM

studying for an exam
and preparing myself for the big exam

car stuff
play with the dogs
and laundry.

oh-- Sunday, we are going to the Balloon Fiesta!

What is your most favourite kind of cake? and why-- what does it remind you of?

Probably going to a friend's for a barbeque.

Where is the most exciting place you have ever been?

Breathless 10-05-2012 02:01 PM

Where is the most exciting place you have ever been?

Define exciting? For simple beauty, I adore Mendicino California.. the ocean crashing on the shores, the kindness of the people there, on the edge of the red forest with the mountains surrounding.. Galveston Texas gave me some excitement too... until i almost stepped on a jellyfish playing in the sand.. in the dark. lol
I went on a trip earlier this year to hang out with Starryeyes and Justin, and I was overwhelmed with the warmth of their friendship.. so that falls in to one of my top favourites.. and Little Rock of course.. the feeling of belonging. and the laughs, new friends made... that was exciting

Name one characteristic about yourself that you need to work on...

Just one lol. Not to be so forgiving especially when someone continues to screw you over.

If you could save the world but lose yourself would you?

Breathless 10-05-2012 02:32 PM

If you could save the world but lose yourself would you?

Depends on the context.. If there was a situation that I alone could stop and it would inturn guarantee the saving of many lives.. yes.. with out a doubt.. I would however be scared shitless.. I tend to act without thinking about the consequenses to myself, in helping others.. just who I am.
If time and money were non issue.. what is one thing that you would love to learn.. just for selfish reasons..

i would love to learn how to spin (using a spinning wheel) and weave. but the materials are soooo expensive.

if you were independently wealthy and didn't have to worry about finding work or anything, where in the world would you live and why?

I would be pan continental...because I could. Would also have a base here near Brighton, built by Straw Works. They build straw bale houses and I'd have an italianate single story courtyard stylee house made from straw.

If you could only listen to one song ever again, what would it be?

Because I have a doctorate in procrastination

How do you deal with daily irritations?

ahk 10-06-2012 10:09 AM

I talk about them
or write them down to figure out why I'm irritated

Do you ever "rebel" about anything-- and if yes, what?

Lots. Currently it's the dearth of women and gay folks in the recovery services and outside methods of recovery. The personal is political and I WILL change things if it bloody kills me.

Do you ever just 'give in' just for a quiet life?

Not so much anymore, but I actually went through an entire 4 year relationship with someone who had Aspergers, you learn to give in or you will argue to your dieing breath. My mantra at the time was 'it's not worth the fight'. Now I am much more likely to fight for what I want, and walk away if I have to.

What dream are you not fulfilling that keeps niggling at you to get on it?
