Today is the 31st anniversary of when I earned the title, "Marine". :winky:
Sadly, it took me many years after that fact before I really, truly understood what that title really means. It carries over into every part of a Marine's life, even after the uniform comes off....until the day that Marine dies. It's not just the military life that requires honor, courage and commitment. It's not giving up when things get tough and it's not running away from one's problems. It's squaring your shoulders and doing what needs to be done and then taking responsibility for what is done, no matter what the consequences. It's a loyalty to friends and family.....and to other Marines. It's the courage and humility to say "I'm sorry". Semper Fidelis, ~Theo~ :bouquet: |
May I present ....
