Monte decided to make a break for it and bolted out the door!

He's not liking this quarentine business at all.

JDeere 12-08-2018 10:52 PM

Went to see Santa today! Both were very well behaved and there were no issues with other dogs, other pets.

My dog

It started snowing a little before midnight. Already had the ground blanketed by 1am. Took her for a walk. She was so happy! She loves snow sooooooooooooo much!!!!!

Gemme 12-09-2018 08:32 AM

Gracie has tossed her proverbial cookies twice in as many days now. Loki is on medicine and I'm wondering if he left trace amounts on his dry food because they eat out of one another's bowls. They got their shots but that was several days ago and there was no other issue immediately afterwards. I'm going to have to use my squinty eagle eye and keep tabs on her.

WheatToast 12-09-2018 01:55 PM

Last week while Christmas shopping, I found my dream easy chair-- huge, overstuffed, chocolate brown, supple leather, that's so wide and comfy you could sleep in it.
My kitties like it so much, they have been nestled in it together, sleeping or fighting since the chair was delivered.
I tried to muscle them off the chair yesterday so I could sit on it and read a book, but they each took one of the foot-wide arms, smacked at the book and stared at me until I gave up.

Run around like the tiny little furry heathens they are.

Gemme 12-10-2018 10:15 PM

Loki laid on the sofa and let me use him as a pillow while I sat on the floor. Sweet boy.

RockOn 12-15-2018 09:02 AM

We all got up early, they played outside for awhile under the floodlights out back. Then the cold temps got to them and they wanted to come inside. All three ate a big breakfast, went out again and played. Now they are on the bed napping.

Jeffrey makes me laugh so hard! He loves for me to sing that song from Romeo and Juliet ... you know, it starts out --->>> "A time for us, someday there'll be ... " Anyway, a few minutes ago, he was sound asleep. I am sitting in a chair near the bed. I started singing that song softly at first ... his eyes started blinking ... as I got louder, he very quickly jumped off the bed and threw his front end in my lap. LOL! I will have to video this next time. That is officially Jeffrey's song!! Heh Heh!

Jennifer is curled up in her electric blanket with only her nose sticking out. Kevin is sprawled out, no covers, and snoring oh so loud!

Now I must get up and unload two 48 lbs of Purina Healthy Choice Chicken flavor dry dog food from the truck. Sam's Club had it for $35.00 yesterday ... free extra lbs in each bag made it a great deal. It will last them 3 to 4 weeks. I mix it in an extra large bowl with one can of dog food, mash it up all together with some water and divide it into three bowls. They love it! Thinking about picking up another turkey today. They won't get all of it this time. I saw a recipe for dressing with the meat mixed in. Feeling brave ... I think maybe I can make it and have it turn out edible. :)

GeorgiaMa'am 12-15-2018 08:45 PM

Tiny Dog supervised while we baked cookies all day. As a result, she got a smudge of powdered sugar on her butt and paraded around with it obliviously for several hours. If she had noticed, I'm sure she would have licked it off. My hands were too buried in cookie dough to do anything about it until later.

Diva Kitty slept throughout.

I bought a bunch of Christmas treats for Petunia, Toffee and Simon, last week... so when I go over on Christmas eve, they will be spoiled to Pet Heaven. Of course, Pet Heaven will commence shortly after I feed them several rounds of cheese-burgers and then hand out treats. They always collapse at my feet after the feeding frenzy. :jester:

My sister-in-law says I'm the "Pet Whisperer," and I'm not sure that is terribly true; but if Petunia, Toffee and Simon feel sated, then I think of it as having done a job well-done.

He skurred himself in the big bad dark bedroom...which prompted me to turn on the bedroom light so we could play "catch"....and then he had chicken...

which, as it turns out, he absolutely loves chicken.......

Gemme 12-20-2018 06:59 PM

Loki ate and Gracie stalked her toys and every bit of fluff and stuff in the place and they both came looking for loving so it was pretty much the same as always.

GeorgiaMa'am 12-26-2018 12:56 PM

Yesterday:

Tiny Dog enjoyed her Christmas stocking treats. They were special marrow bone treats that she doesn't usually get. After her Christmas dinner which included a few bites of turkey from the people table, she also enjoyed a Denta-bone, which she loves.

Diva Kitty had a Christmas stocking gift too, tiny play mice with catnip inside. She's too old to really enjoy the catnip, but she was sniffing them awful hard. Maybe she's just learned to really mellow out and enjoy the buzz in her old age.

A Merry Christmas was had by all!

Gemme 12-26-2018 10:04 PM

I got a box of small toys from Petco and both have played with just about all 10 of them, especially the wand and feather. One will drag it to one side of the living room and the other will drag it back to the kitchen. The big winner was the new cat tree I got at a thrift store. Vacuumed it, cleaned it up, spritzed the whole thing with Odor Out (got from Stanley Steemer) and let it dry. Loki pounced on it right and away and squeezed his giant hiney into the cupped circle at the top, hanging over the edge all around. Gracie eyeballed it most of the day but didn't venture over to it until after dinner, when she was feeling frisky. Now, she can't get enough of it. She fits the circle on top perfectly and she hooks on at the bottom and pushes herself all the way round the scratching post attached. It's freaking adorable. Loki has moved to the sofa until he's had enough of her messing with HIS toy and then he rushes to chase her off of it. It's their new game. Don't tell them but I only spent about $17 for everything. Score!

Gemme 12-28-2018 06:23 AM

My phone slid off the sofa onto the floor and they nearly shit a brick. I get a kick out of how fluffy Gracie's tail gets. Loki's hardly ever gets any larger, which I find funny. Maybe it's because he's so big already, he physically can't do it.

Hmm....things to ponder.

nhplowboi 12-28-2018 10:44 AM

Stayed in. :( That means a double muck for the day. :( :( EVERYTHING is iced over. Unsafe for 4 legged livestock to walk on and I literally threw a lifeline down the hill so the barn entrance was navigational by us two legged ones. I am glad we still have no snow but ice is no bueno.

GeorgiaMa'am 12-28-2018 08:12 PM

Tiny Dog is having more and more trouble getting up and down the stairs. It's harder for her to get up too - I can see her contemplating whether or not she really needs to stand up before she does so. She's 12 years old, and I have been feeding her food with Glucosamine and Chondroitin in it for years. I have decided it's time to go for the daily therapeutic dose though. So I ordered some Cosequin DS for her. I was glad to see the price of that stuff has dropped over the years.

Diva Kitty continues to find delight in her stuffed mice. I keep finding them in different places all over the house. She doesn't like to be watched while she plays, so I'm sure she waits until she's alone in a room until she bats them somewhere new.

Buckaroo 12-28-2018 08:28 PM

my 2 babies laid about calling me for snacks and toys. Then they waited til a full on downpour to inform me they wanted to go outside. Once outside they cringed and tried to levitate above the wet ground and finally tinkled. Then glared at me once inside like the rain was my doing.

RebelDyke 01-01-2019 09:52 AM

NOTHING.....absolutely nothing.... in fact. Cried from the bedroom that he wanted to be in bed all day and cuddle. (so I suppose that IS something) Needless to say, I got nothing done...but cuddle time with my master (hehe...just sayin who really owns who here.)

Gemme 01-01-2019 10:36 AM

Loki complained bitterly about me sleeping in late. Too bad, fuzzball. I bring home the bacon. Me! He does have me trained to pet him before I go to the bathroom though. If I don't, he pesters me incessantly. Gracie was gracious in waiting for me to check the place, tilt the blinds the way I like, and get breakfast ready for them. Both cleaned their bowls, which disappointed Loki as he likes to finish her leftovers. Not today, buddy! It's a new year and there's no leftovers for you.

GeorgiaMa'am 01-02-2019 08:08 PM

Tiny Dog fell down the stairs in the dark! Thank goodness she is okay. She had a badly needed toenail trim last night, and all I can think is it got her off balance.

Diva Kitty made an impassioned plea to be let outside. She usually doesn't pay much attention to the outside door. Spring must be on the way. (Although I think it's not even officially winter yet.) It was unseasonably warm today, though.

candy_coated_bitch 01-02-2019 09:09 PM

Jinx got into the garbage as I was clearing out art junk while putting things in my new art desk. He also played in the plastic tubs, layed on the lids, and then layed on his back like an otter under my chair. He is so weird.

I had a date once who acted similar to this! Needless to say there was no second date!

Gemme 01-03-2019 11:32 AM

Loki has been crying more often lately. He's always cried for food and attention and he's very vocal but I think he's trying to tell me something else. I haven't figured it out yet, but I'm working on it.

Gracie has also been 'more' lately. More zoomies and more destruction to start. She goes after carpet corners and pulls them up as well as destroying the covered and stuffed bar stool that I "gave" her which I've given up on because both of them are using it as a scratching post despite it being sprayed with Scratch Not stuff and them getting squirted with the water bottle and them having...I shit you not....9 designated scratching areas, including the two cat trees that have multiple scratching posts and fabric surfaces. But, on the flip side, she's been more affectionate lately too. I've had cats, off and on, nearly my whole life. She's the strangest one yet. Cute, but very very strange.

Currently, they are both napping after having torn the place up, running here and there and back again.

RebelDyke 01-03-2019 12:57 PM

Laid on the back of the couch in the sun.....all morning long.

I think he is really enjoying our quality time together at the moment. (Honestly, I kinda am too.)

Gemme 01-04-2019 07:49 PM

Gracie has been especially affectionate tonight. I like it!

FireSignFemme 01-07-2019 11:40 AM

Nothing so far other than wake up for breakfast, down it, then head straight back to bed. Well he should be worn out there's ample evidence this morning of him having stayed up dancing and prancing all night.

RebelDyke 01-07-2019 12:03 PM

Currently, he is passed out. In the sun working on his tan. This was after me doing some cleaning and shaking out of both blankets and laundry and finding his collection of bones. Of course, he had to re-hide them ALL! :phonegab:
Before he could go down for another nap.

Simon, the sock snatcher, ripped up my bag of overnight clothes, last time I stayed with my bestie (sister-in-law), last week, and I thought he made off with my socks, but it turned out that I had them folded up and laid them on the sofa, but just forgot to put them in my newly torn up bag that Simon got ahold of.

In other news, the skunks who tore up my sister-in-law's property last summer, have come back to nest under their wrap-around porch, and sprayed both Simon and Toffee last night. Thankfully, Petunia (the cat) wasn't involved or affected this time (lol or not).

Petunia will be coming to stay with me for two weeks while my bestie has their home owner's insurance vendor come back over to de-skunk their entire home and property.

<<<<<<-- happy to babysit Petunia for a couple of weeks. *Maow-Maow*

Tiny Dog has taken quite well to eating her new glucosamine/chondroitin tablets. Even though the label says they are "Tasty!", I think they look like chalk. Tiny Dog is such a good girl!

Gemme 01-09-2019 08:57 AM

They acted like loons and zipped around like headless chickens interrupting my cleaning process until breakfast wore off so now they are napping and now I can eat my own breakfast and maybe get something done today.

Glenn 01-09-2019 09:23 AM

It's been the usual here- Eat, sleep, sit in front of the computer screen for attention, out the cat door, sit around outside, check out the wildlife, maybe go for a walk in the woods, repeat.:rollcat:

GeorgiaMa'am 01-28-2019 08:37 PM

Tiny Dog has started a twice-daily regimen of Bufferin. She gets a half Bufferin in the morning and a half at night. I've been watching her closely to make sure she doesn't vanish into a room for a few minutes to throw up. She seems to be okay so far.

It hasn't taken effect yet, but I expect to see some improvement by tomorrow.

I bought her some special (expensive!) "pill pouches", which are moldable dog treats that you can wrap around pills. After having used them once, though, I am remembering that the last time I had to do this, I used bread. That will probably be better because it's bland; she liked the pill pouch so much that she tried to chew it, which kind of defeated the purpose.

Diva Kitty remains fascinated with the outdoors. She hasn't made a break for it, though - thank goodness. She has been introduced to snow before, and didn't like it. We're supposed to get an inch and a half of snow tomorrow - maybe I will give her a reminder. (I won't do anything terrible! Of course not. I will just set her down - wearing a harness - on the carport at the edge of the snow. She will probably immediately whine to go back in, which we will do. I don't want to be out in the snow any more than she does.)

GeorgiaMa'am 02-13-2019 06:59 PM

I accidentally stepped on Tiny Dog's paw in the dark! I must have gotten it really bad, because it took her almost a whole minute to forgive me. It appears to be fine though, thank goodness.

Tiny Dog is also doing well on her new regimen of twice daily Bufferin. I tried giving it to her in a "pouch" of bread, and that did not work at all - she ate the bread and spit out the aspirin, quick as a flash. Guess I will continue to buy the expensive moldable treat pouches.

My dog loves her meds in a small piece of cheese. But it sounds like you have a smart little dog on your hands so it may not work. Just a thought.

My dog played a little ball with my sister. Also because of the move there’s no fencing up yet so I let her go out on a 30 foot cable because she loves laying in the sun. Anyways..... she seemed to enjoy getting herself tangled around the deck numerous times. A bit annoying but she was amused I think. She would get tangled then stare at me until I untangled her. Within 30 minutes she was tangled again staring at me and wagging her tail. If it wasn’t for her cuteness I would have been very irritated. :)

If she eats wet food, crush it up and mix it in the wet food.

Gracie has been super affectionate and demanding of pets tonight and is only laying down where she can see me. Loki has been kind of 'eh' and is hogging the top of the new to them cat tree. They both love it so much! It was a good buy.

Gemme 02-14-2019 06:26 AM

Loki is the affectionate one this morning but that doesn't count because he's just ensuring his survival and that I will feed him. I've had to shoo him away from Gracie's bowl twice now. He gets so focused on eating her food that he will walk away from his bowl with food still in it.

Boy's got 99 problems (but a bitch ain't one....because he's a cat not a dog!).
