She has been disposed of by very shallow and self-centered friends and siblings that only seek her out when they want something.....just like buying electronics these days, it's cheaper to toss someone to the side for a replacement rather than invest in the friendship, relationship or person. Siblings and relatives treat us as disposable because we tell them how it is but their chosen friends sugar coat things and enable them. People and friendships are rarely invested in these days.

I totally agree . You're the bad guy because you point out the truth. Some people won't hear the truth, because that means they would have to fix something, take action, work and improve, or not be as comfortable as they want to be, so they abandon you, and surround themselves with, marshmallows. Hushpuppies, someone who is going to tell them what they want to hear. Sugar coat everything, so their fragile feelings don't get hurt. And they aren't challenged to improve. It's safe it's easy, until they do something that even the hushpuppies can't deal with, then come running to you for help. It's really tough when it's a family member. Harder to walk away when it's family.

so tragic.

My brother-in-law's best friend lost in his wife in a horrific and tragic accident.

She was in Singapore on business and had been prescribed ambien by her doctor to help with the jet-lag she always experienced on trips to SE Asia. Ambien has a known (and common) side effect of causing sleep disturbances sleep-walking/driving etc.

In the wee hours of the morning while asleep she walked out of her hotel room, on to the balcony and fell over - dropping more than 60 floors to her death.

She leaves behind 3 children age 5 and under and a wonderful partner.

Please take the possible side-effects of your prescriptions seriously and consider your own safety (in both common and uncommon situations) before deciding whether or not to take them.

I sometimes think that it's possible to find your soulmate online. I've heard stories and wonder if that's my fate to or am I going to run into her at the grocery store. Lol :)

Chinese........Chinese is always a good solution for this

So when I flipped on the tv for the news this morning I heard a commercial for Perdue chicken. The went on and on about the "greeness" of their chicken raising. Sounds like they all but tuck the little cluckers into bed at night and read them a story. (a fine change from the growth hormone mosters that they used to put on my local grocery shelves) Anyway he ended the commercial by saying, "At Perdue we are trying to build a better chicken!" I thought....

Better than who? God?

The second comercial was almost as good. They were advertising a sale for the local pool & patio store. 20-50% off. Then they showed a rather average looking patio set and said "This one is 50% off.....it's only $499.99!"

2 minutes into this commercial I turned the tv off

"The first thing you do is hit them with your forehead...that's how you square somebody up........" and later....... "Da da wants to be healthy for his little girl" Mmmm Hmmm. This reinforces my thought that if I had a son I would not want him to play football.

Chinese........cold leftover Chinese....... it's what's for breakfast :)

How is it... that I get wrapped up in a job that I always seem to be here to fix a broken system? Why can't things be fixed and running smoothly before I walk in? If you ever hear "the welfare system is broken "... please know I am working my ass off to fix it.. one state at a time. I love being an advocate ... but Geewizwillywonkers, why do we elect or hire people that mess up programs this bad?

Over it...

Sick and tired of looking at properties for building. I don't know which is the "right" piece of land, or where.

Frustrating...:praying:

What's on my mind?

The fact that I've worked 45 hours in the last 3 days and still have at least 20 to go.

This is starting to creep back into "old schedule" territory and I'm not about to have another stroke on behalf of my job.

Tomorrow, I'm going to have to break out "Josephine".

always2late 06-06-2012 11:25 PM

I'm really concerned about a good friend of mine. She is in a relationship that is fraught with stress (none of which is her doing). She has dealt with it for three years, and lately she seems to be reaching a breaking point. Tonight she sent me a text saying "Don't text back...really bad night here, we had a bad bad fight and there are holes in the walls. Don't worry, I'll tell you all about it tomorrow." I won't text her back because I don't want to exacerbate whatever is going on over there. I know she isn't foolish, and won't stay there if she feels like she is in immediate danger...but I'm really worried about her and it's taking everything in my power not to drive over there and make sure she's ok.
