I remember when the airlines treated you royally and not like a friggin cash register!

$$$ to check a bag, $$$ for a snack, $$$ for requesting the bulkhead seat, the list goes on and on....

I remember when you could buy a type of ice-cream-on-a-stick called "Strawberry cream Woppas". Those things were ice-cream perfection to me, and I can still remember the taste to this day. Then one year, all of a sudden - nothing. They'd simply stopped making them. I cried. I can't remember the name of the company that made them, and can't even find any hint of their existence on the internet. But I remember the taste, and how the one thing I looked forward to in summer when I was a child of a certain age, was buying strawberry cream Woppas with my pocket-money.

I remember when Doctors made house calls.....

I remember when the cure for most ailments was a shot in the ass and maybe a short course of antibiotics, not some major ordeal.

This will be PI, but here it is anyway. "Drugs" were just something your mom didn't want you to take like weed, mushrooms, or acid NOT that what could truly be lethal like "H", white, krocodill, Fentanyl (at unknown dosages).

My mom would turn over in her grave to learn what some folks were using in the name of "drugs."

I remember when families still sat at the kitchen table for meals without being glued to electronics (and my house still does this)...

..

I remember a time there were no "latch key" kids..

I remember when going out to eat or just stopping by a drive-in for hamburger was a real treat NOT an everyday occurrence!

Can I just say really? I know people who eat out daily... Now, I won't lie... Starbucks is my daily addiction.... but... (well there's really no excuse for that either)

Yes but mom usually stayed home and prepared meals back then.

I like going out for a meal because I enjoy time out with someone but it because a convenience thing.

Yup, moms more often than not shopped for the food and cooked the food indeed!

Maybe she got a break on Mother's Day and her birthday, but otherwise she did it 363 days a year!

These days Mary and I are more often to grab something on the run or run out and get either Thai or whatever than cook...

IMHO it's not the cooking that is a pain so much as is the time it takes to shop and then the clean up mess afterwards........

I remember when the Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade was JUST a parade and it didn't get interrupted every couple of minutes with singers and dancers.......

Kids (unless they live near Scarecrow in Seattle's University District) will never know what fun it was to peruse isles and isles of movie possibilities :movieguy:

I remember when the lights on the Christmas tree were a fire hazard.

They sure were pretty, though . . .
