Good evening or late afternoon everyone. How was your day? My was alright, but very hot :fireman: and humid, no wind to speak of. It is the summer in the South after all. I hope your evening goes well and maybe we'll see each other around the threads.

Well, yesterday and today have been pretty much crap!! A few in my circle of friends have decided to battle it out... fine.. if that is what you want... just DON"T GET ME IN THE MIDDLE!! They have, and they have told others, and now I am having trouble with people that have NOTHING to do with this situation. I am so fed up!! I did nothing but be fair, listen to all sides, let people vent, sympathize and NOT TAKE SIDES!! Now, somehow, I am the on the "bad team". REALLY??? WTF?? All I did was listen...

single-hood
So this seems like the best place to post my little rant about being femme and single.
I've been single for about 3 years now, dated here and there and have come to realize i'm bad at it. I am no good at dating, i wish there was some sort of learning annex on how to successfully just "date." Maybe i'm doing it wrong, but really i don't want someone to move in with me and adopt a cat. I want to kick it old school, pick me up, take me dancing, bring flowers. Let's get to know each other, I want to be fascinated and count the hours/days until i see you again. There has to be someone out there that will laugh at my particle physics jokes and wants to plan a zombie survival strategy. Maybe someone who wouldn't mind that i can't cook but that i can do a brake job on your car and rewire the lamp that's been blinking. Is it just me? I'm looking for the journey not the destination. I wish i could find someone to take the journey with me. ok i'm done rambling i swear |

I have asked the same question many times. I am in no hurry to get married and plan retirement. I want to be able to court a girl. Not rush into the bedroom on the first night. I want to be able to learn about her, what are her wants and dreams, whats her favorite movie or book. Has she ever just gazed into the stars and wondered if there was something more out there? Will the answer be in this lifetime? Which really did come first, the chicken or the egg? And what would her one personal item be in her Zombie Bug out Bag? Somewhere along this path called life, we will each find someone. I think it is being patient and weeding out those who do not fit into the mold is key to finding the one that will. Just my spuratic thoughts. |

Issue with "friends" still not resolved despite my best efforts. People will believe what they want to believe... that is that. I will take a break from this group for a while. I have some other friends in that group, but I can see them on my own until they move on to something else. I will be quite busy this weekend and next between babysitting, a dance, a date, acupuncture and sunday I am taking myself to the beach! I need a relaxing day!
And yes, I am too single for my skirt! lol Ruthie |
