Coming out of my office tonight I ran into my bff when I was growing up. We ran into each other for the first time since 1968 (yup, I said 1968) four years ago. It was strange, because when I parked my car tonight in the area where I have my office and she worked I wished that I ran into her and 3 hours later, yaza, I did.

It is also so comforting when I meet old friends and we pick up right where we left off.

Seeing the look of surprise on my partner's face when I pulled out a potted plant behind my back for their birthday.

Out of the blue, a four-year-old boy in my class told me, "Teacher is cute!" and then winked at me. :winky:

How wrong I am for not knowing how awesome and special my family is and how much they appreciate me. Realizing this made me smile...huge, toothy grin kinda smile... :)

I woke up with Sadie's, (my dog) head laying on my face. The crack of her mouth was on my mouth and she was sound asleep. The first thought I had was, hey, wait a minute...she drools when she is sleeping! :blink:

waking up and knowing there is not one single demand on my time today.....the day is mine :)

To preface; I'm not quite certain what made me decide that a 91 degree afternoon is the greatest time to bake crusty Italian bread (which requires the oven to be preheated for 40 minutes to 425 degrees), but the heart wants what the heart wants....

What is making me smile is how incredible my place smells right now; even with all the windows flung open and incense burning! I'm not even hungry; just kicked back, enjoying the day on the back porch reading, relaxing, and listening to a bunch of kids have a great time in the pool.

A big gay pride truck in our little home town parade!!! I got to walk with them... and had my picture taken a lot....

I figured out my fall classes today!

My grandson's first birthday party he smiles and laughs it made me so happy. :)

Not only smiling but laughing ... made it to the other side of my brief melt-down. No bruises or scratches ... not even a scraped knee. ;)

When things pile up all at once, sometimes I get so overwhelmed and unable to handle it well.

Everything is the same ... my precious dog is still deceased, the irritating elderly drug addict lady next door got out of the hospital and went back to drugging ... but now I have my grip. One thing, if my druggie neighbor ever comes into my living room and goes through my stuff looking for her keys again, it is not going to be good! She just opened my door and came in. I was out back working and knew nothing about it until later. And I don't care if she is high and has no memory of it. Made me have a sensation of being violated.

Oh well, cool now!

Had a good day that started with an unexpected early morning conversation included a big red tape accomplishment and is ending in a quiet slow way surrounded by those that love me.

yesterday at pride a friend took a video of me dancing. she put it on her fb, I put it on mine. There were many folks my age that appreciated my enthusiasm for the day and the opportunity to party.

then later there is this comment under the video posting:

OMG! MOM!

my reply was: darling daughter if you are embarrased by me hide me from your fb page but moms have a right to get crazy and have fun too, lol

I chuckled. many a time I hid her shennigans from my page. equal opportunity, I say

The beautiful afternoon; sunshine, water, and flowers; baked a double batch of the most outrageous homemade brownies ever; a meandering walk in the beautiful subtropics with no hurry, since I have nowhere I have to be until next Monday.

All in all, a very good day so far. :)
