wow today i am flooded with gratitude.
Today being Independence Day i am so very thankful that i was born in, and have lived in this great nation. Does it need work and fixing? Yes! Still, to be born here and have the freedoms i enjoy makes me very grateful. i am also thankful for: my love my loves my family my job my home my dog my friends |
I am thankful for close friend Anne.... No matter how small & pointless my troubles may be, she is always ready to come to my rescue loaded with tissues, coffee & ice cream... I'd be lost without her...

a quiet house with some quiet alone time being somewhat domesticated to know I can do things on my own being given a second chance at a few things in life my freedom whoever invented sweet tea lol family friends who turned into family and sweet tarts soft and chew rope candy |

I'm so thankful that even though my butch is chronically ill and she gets a little forgetful at times, she still has her right mind. We just found out that a friend we lost touch with over the years has dementia and is in a nursing home. That was very upsetting to both of us. Years ago we used to go out drinking and dancing with this man and his then partner, and were pretty close.
I'm very grateful that my butch is still pretty sharp mentally and she knows who I am. It would be devastating if she got to the point that she did not recognize me. |

I am very thankful for the people in my life who get that I express myself in bold, passionate terms and love me for who I am. You don't get meek and mild with me, and I don't pretend things are all rosy when they aren't either. I'm real and raw baby, and I always will be Me.

Hope, my little senior dachshund, who is also blind! This is THE sweetest little girl..and her spirit is larger than life! She follows me by "tracking my scent"..and LOVES being able to sleep in my big bed with me at night!! I adopted her almost a year ago...on the 30th! |
