The marriage
 

of this powerful material and this powerful performer really makes me smile!

This made me smile when I opened my eyes this morning:

Kevin, my very large dog, and I had somehow huddled together under the comforter during the night.

You see, I bought a 12, 000 B.T.U. a.c. window unit this past weekend. I have central air conditioning but for it to get as cold in my bedroom as I require in the summer, my power bill goes upward of $300.00. The same size B.T.U. unit I had was not doing the job anymore.

Kevin is very pleased with the unit. Me too!

The old one was as much of a bear to remove as it was to install years back. One heavy, bulky mother. And I finally had a good grip on it, taking careful but progressive steps and it started slowly sliding out of its casing. That is when I remembered that peculiar thing about it and was wishing my steel toe boots were on my feet. At one point, I had about decided to fling it forward and jump back from under it but then realized it probably only needed servicing. Make matters worse, my plaid shorts had started falling. By the time the unit landed on one Keen sneaker, my toes had managed to draw up in a protective posture and weren't injured but my shorts were on the ground. LOL! Stuff happens. ;)

I have the most amazing group of friends in my life.

Made a 96 and a 84 on math homework. Pure happiness.

Giggles comming from the tree.. My nephews yting to be sneaky..

My partner taking me out to eat at my favorite restaurant.

Deciding to take a trip to California for Christmas. I miss traveling.

Seeing a line of preschoolers walking somewhere (i have no idea of their destination) in pairs holding hands. Boys holding boys hands, girls holding girls hands and girls and boys holding hands. Not only were the pint size people worthy of a smile, the idea that they had not yet been informed about how some people are bothered by same gender hand-holding. May they remain unaware, even though they won't remain teeny tiny in stature. Cute little buggers!

going through boxes and I found several of my favorite blouses and dresses that I thought were lost somehow....omg....the dresses alone.... happy girl :)

I am the mother of a 21 year old. I smile from ear to ear knowing what a caring, thoughtful and giving daughter she is (ok, most of the time, lol).

She is so strong and resilient and really is a good citizen, what more can a mother want?

You changed my life and made me a better person. I have learned so much about myself as your mother and see the world through your eyes.
May you have the love in your life that you have brought to mine.

Meeting with the student whos senior project I am supervising today. She is so excited and motivated... shes changed alot in the 6 years I have known her. I couldn't be more proud.

not just today but every day I smile::toypony:

I drive past fields with horses, corn growing so fast with all this rain, and more fields of gold, that wave as the wind blows and if not they stand firm together. Just classically beautiful and thankful to see it as well as live it every day. :) At night I look to the sky and see so many stars, that the dark blue behind them becomes the noticeable palate! Right now the moon is almost full so without street lights here the darkness hits you as fast as you leave any lighted area.....except when the moon is in this stage......lights up everything as if a soft night light is glowing. Speaking of lights......all of these fields support acres and acres of lightening bugs....all flashing and looking for a mate at dusk! :) What a sweet way to live, and so dazzling!

I smile in the morning, and all through out the day thankful for Mother Earth and her glories she provides for us. I am appreciative, I never want to lose that! So smiling is a reminder for me......that life is good, and although I may not have a lot, there is lots to be seen!! :)

she called me by my auntie name for the first time today...(Titi!)

I kept making her say it over and over....it was so nice to hear finally! :)

omg no smiles yet today???

I have a good reason....my first day in a week not having to take pain meds :)

and...

my nephew loved my earthy crunchy coconut chia seed granola...vindication on my mother's claim that I eat "weird food"!

I finally fulfilled my craving for steamed clams...for me steamers at a beach is heaven

Walking out to the kitchen to get a drink, the clock flashed 2:22....
For the past year and some odd months that's been a sign Momma D is watching out for me.
There are no words to express how I miss her and the empty spot I have with her gone..
But she's with me...
