Gosh does anybody shop at Walmart?? I went to our local one in Bergen County, NJ it is all minorities!! Where does the white people go?? Target I bet in Hackensack, NJ that's too expensive for me. I wanted an ipod but got the pots instead. Now for the scrubs I will have to order them online because I need petites for that lousy internship of course which I DIDN'T GO TO TODAY YEAH!! sO what's for dinner?? Only had the chicken sandwich for lunch need food even worked out for a bit today..now I need to tackle the garage to see what items I'm possesion pruning as JO says!! See you guys later!! |
I have a problem with my dog I don't know if I should take him to the emergency vet because he is panting and shaking but he has Cushing syndrome which cause excessive panting but the shaking thing is not good.. I really don't know what to do?? Any ideas would be helpful right now??:blink:

Lips.....if u r having such an issue with minorities let me tell u right now Florida is NOT where u want to move too..I am usually quiet bout other peoples feelings and thoughts, likes and dislikes, prejudices and racism--bc im sure if some ppl heard me in real life they would assume i am one of the biggest most prejudicial racists in the world--however ur recent posts(in last couple days regarding the Spanish community and healthcare and then the Walmart comment has even offended and bothered me(which is hard to do)...i mean u do realize we have A LOT of minorities that post AND read this thread dont u? I have kept quiet on many fronts about things, but quite frankly i would prefer u keep ur "thoughts" to urself regarding "minorities" if u can not be positive about them.. bc lets be honest...there are A LOT of people(even you Lips) that shop at walmart.
and for the record ALL people need healthcare! No matter the ethnic group! My apologies to you honey for derailing ur thread and to the other kitcheneers, but i have been weighing this since i read it and i would not feel right letting it continue! |
*I* think you should be proud of yourself for what you posted...it might be seen by some as a 'derail'...to others, it will be seen as a voice of clarity and honor speaking...I'm glad you posted and want to say so in public...Thank-You...Nina

Hope everyone is having a good evening :rrose: I've been having one of "those" days...so am hoping that tomorrow will be better. I'll be in early to make the coffee :) |
Good morning everyone :)
:linecook: Breakfast today...waffles with fresh sliced strawberries and whipped cream, crisp bacon and some fresh squeezed oj. Naturally, the coffee and tea is on as well :bringcoffee: I've been up for hours since the son got picked up early to go camping today. My day is going to be a long list of housework, yardwork and a bit more "pruning and packing." I'd rather be laying by a pool somewhere with a nice strawberry daiquiri :giggle: Hope you all have a great day :rrose: :lips: baby....don't work too hard today... :stillheart: |

derailing from this derail to say i live in a neighborhood that is probably 97% Hispanic and 80% Spanish speaking... living in this neighborhood has really opened my eyes to corporate racism...there is a wal-mart near me and another one about twenty minutes away, where the percentages go down a bit...the difference between the tow stores are staggering in terms of selection, service, and upkeep. it is really disgusting what Wal-mart seems to think is acceptable in my neighborhood versus 20 mins away |
Good Morning Everyone,
I am thinking waffles, fresh fruit, whipped cream, eggs, bacon, sausage, crispy hashbrowns, and toast is on the menu for breakfast. Plenty of coffee, tea, sodas, and juice. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I helped my little brother move into his new apartment yesterday and then had lunch with my family at Cracker Barrel. Elijah fell asleep lastnight in his highchair after wearing himself out playing with my youngest niece and nephew. Have fun today! Zimmy |

Thank you for the wonderful breakfast.. all of that sounds just lovely.. on a Sunday morning. Right now I am enjoying some french pressed coffee and reading the New York Times.. My normal Sunday morning wake up. It sounds like you had a peaceful and productive Saturday... and yeah for you helping your little Bro. I enjoy Cracker Barrel.. however, I have not been there since I lived out West. I hope your Sunday is as enjoyable as your Saturday was. hugs. Jake Good Morning to the wonderful Kitchen peeps, I woke up this morning to the hot and mugginess that is standard for this time of year. It was actually cool when I went to bed so I left the sliding glass door and windows open (which is the norm for Me). However, somewhere along the line that coolness went away. A nice tepid shower is in order I think. I did all of My cleaning and laundry yesterday. So today will be spent.. working on jewelry perhaps, finishing off book #4 in the Harry Potter series and enjoying some "special" :king: :princess: time later. Here is some more :tea: :bringcoffee: .. I hope everyone has a peaceful end to their weekend. |
Good morning (barely) friends :)
I actually managed to sleep in today :cheer: Thank you Zimmy, breakfast sounds wonderful :girleating: Coffee is on :bringcoffee: , kitties have had their shared can of tuna (so much purring and face washing is going on now), I've eaten and am now sitting down to my first cup of the day....next on the agenda is dropping off some donations that have been riding in my car for days and vacuuming top to bottom in the house....and then maybe a little more packing. I brought boxes of old paperwork and my shredder down to the living room yesterday and have been going through and shredding all the old stuff I don't need to keep. So far I've got 2 big bags full of shredded paper ready to go out with the recycling tomorrow. Still more shredding to go... I'll be back...have a great day everyone. :rrose: :lips: to you baby.... :love1: |
He moved about fifteen miles from my house. My mom and I are going through our houses and anything we don't need or haven't used in awhile we are giving to him. I am taking him a couple of extra towels that I have and whatever else. She is taking him shopping to get dishes and other basic kitchen supplies he needs. I had fun yesterday and I am cleaning my house today....He brought my bed up to my house yesterday while I sat at his apartment and waited on the cable guy. It is a tiny apartment, but for one person it is good.
Hope you have fun today! Zimmy Quote:

Good Morning Everyone,
I hope everyone had a good weekend and a good start to your work week! I am thinking about eggs, bacon, sausage and toast for breakfast with plenty of coffee, tea, juice, milk and sodas! Lisa will be home around 4pm today, so I am excited! I will be able to finish the three training quizzes for Avon tonight. See you all in a bit, Zimmy |
Good morning everyone :)
:bringcoffee: Coffee and tea are on...and I'm thinking breakfast is just going to be granola and fresh fruit for me today. I got almost no sleep and have a major headache brewing....and a lot to do for work. We're struggling with the house thing...stupid bank is taking for-freaking-ever, and at this rate I won't even be in FL in time for the start of school. So much for a great summer...or a vacation...or much besides hassle and work and packing. Grrrrrr. I hate banks. Off to work...pounding head and leftover nightmares and all....I think I need that gigantic coffee cup. Hope you all have a good day :rrose: :lips: baby....we'll get there... |
Good Morning Jo Jo,
Can you go and stay with Scoote until the bank comes through? This way, your son won't have to transfer schools...I can tell you, that when I moved back to Florida from Pittsburgh, the high school down here wouldn't take any of my classes from the two years I lived up north. I ended up taking 14 classes my senior year in high school. I am hoping this doesn't happen to your son. Have a good day and hopefully your headache will go away soon! Zimmy Quote:

Unfortunately that would be super tight...and the animals would have to be kenneled. With a little dog and 4 cats (we gave away the collie this weekend) it's still a bit impossible to find a rental. When we looked for that before we found a grand total of 1 house that would let us rent and keep our critters...and that was with a $500 non-refundable deposit. Ouch. I'm just kicking myself for believing what the realtor and the bank were saying...I knew better than to screw around with a short sale. Now we're possibly in the position of starting over from scratch. Sucks. |
good morning its Monday...... and i have come across something that leads me with a question for the day..... been kinda busy all weekend and need to get rolling here in a lil bit... hope everyone has a great day... .....Why is there a Y12 National Security Complex ... outside of Knoxville,TN.. hmmmmmmmmmm is the goverment concerned about something?? |
Quote:
that just sucks Jo...there is a theory that when stupid reversals and inconveniencs and delays pile up it is because the universe is about to do something stupendous for you |

Good Morning Jo, nods.. I am in total agreement on the banks thing. I actually went with My Mom's advice a long time ago and bank with a credit union. They tend to be a lot more friendly and they do not treat you as though you were a number. I do have a bank as well .. however, it is a small local bank.. not one of those big corporations. I hope you and scoote get things sorted soon. Good Morning Kitcheneers, Another hot day here.. I will be glad when Fall gets here (My favorite season).. and the temps are cooler. I can not believe that we are in August already.. time just flies. I can not believe that My nephew is going to be graduating in a year and a half.. I look at the photo album I have of him and look at his baby pics and can not believe he is all grown up and will be driving next year. I feel the same of My niece.. she will be going into 5th grade already. God, that makes Me feel old. laughs. Here is some more :tea:and :bringcoffee: to add to Jo's. I hope everyone has a peaceful start to the week.. Jake :moonstars: |

hey ya Kitchen dwellers.....
i belong to a credit union........ they are more personal with you then the bigger banks. which is nice.. :) |
Good evening Kitcheneers, I hope everyone is well and had a grand weekend.
*leaves a 6 pack of San Miguel* and some lovely Copella juice We had a wonderful weekend at the Hayride. It was a huge event with thousands upon thousands of folks attending. I forgot just how much I love Rock and Roll, it was brought up on Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Cochran and Elvis, which is all too mainstream for some folks. I loved dancing along to the rockabilly bands, I've not danced like that for an eon. The burlesque dancer was rather enjoyable too as was the Freak Show tent (which wasn't quite a freak show, just a bit mad) I got lucky, I had the pleasure of squiring two gorgeous girls :cheesy: http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p...532592_n-1.jpg Incubus, Ingress and The Illustrator |
[COLOR="Black"]Goooooood evening Kitcheneers.....just popping in to say hello and drop off some pizza, wings and beer...my honey has had a couple rough days(plus dealing with my ol' ass) so figured i'd handle dinner for her....we got a lil ray of hope today as the house has been pulled from the market so maybe it isnt further along than we thought...just keep fingers crossed and send good vibes for us....i know my sweetie REALLY loves this house--as do i
it is a hot muggy night in south florida....air is so still, nothing moving but i wouldnt trade it for anything i gotta go to back dr tomorrow--actually needed to do it a long time ago but i tend to be a procrastinator...then come home and wait for cable guy AGAIN to come and see whats wrong THIS time..its the craziest damn thing i swear anyway i sent Jo off to bed to rest--she really needs it--so im gonna go watch Rizzoli and Isles(totally crushing on that Angie Harmon) hope everyone has a good night/morning........for those on the other side of the pond. :) /COLOR] |

That is good news as to the house being pulled from the market.. I feel for you... on the waiting and all of that.. just keep your eye on the prize.. and I am sending good thoughts and vibes to both of you.. It has been hot and muggy here for weeks.. and we have no end in sight.. we are supposed to have the hotness through this week.. with thunderstorms thrown in.. we most likely will not cool down here .. until late August.. early September. I also know of the back pain as well. I had a disc herniate and had to have surgery for it. I waited 4 years though before I had it.. it finally got the point where I could not bend over and tie My shoes. The bad part is.. when it comes to back surgery.. they are never really sure if it will help. .or make it worse.. kind of scary when you think about it.. given they are messing with your spinal column. I hope you are having a peaceful night.. and Jo is getting plenty of rest. |
Good Morning Jake,
Everytime I go into Bank of America to cash my roommate's rent check, they always ask me if I would like to open an account with them. I chuckle, since I had an account with them five years ago and they would let anyone withdraw money out of your account and I ended up closing mine. I went to SunTrust banks, which is just in Florida and Georgia. They are good and I have been with them for over four years now. The corporate banks don't give you that personal attention, they just want to get you in and out in under five minutes. Hope you are having a good day, Zimmy Quote:

I am sorry Jo Jo...I read Scoote's post about the house coming off of the market, so maybe DC is right, the bank is speeding things up..
Hope you had a good night, Zimmy Quote:

Good Morning Everyone,
Hope you all are having a good start to your day. It got so hot in my house lastnight, that I woke up at 430am and I have been up since. Lisa is trying to save electricity, but what she doesn't realize, the longer that a/c unit is running to keep the house cool, the more it is going to cost her. I cannot wait to start college and meet new ppl. I am thinking a light breakfast to start with this morning. How about some cold cereal, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, milk, sodas and juice? Have fun! Zimmy |
Good morning everyone :)
:bringcoffee: Coffee and tea is refreshed and I'm with you on the light breakfast Zimmy :eating: I'm meeting a friend/co-worker for an early lunch at Ruby Tuesdays (love their salad bar) so don't want to eat anything heavy to start the day. Scoote bundled me off to bed early, which was much needed. Thank you baby :lips: ...and I'm glad she came in and fed you all :) We have our fingers crossed on the house...now if we could just get some straight answers from someone, anyone...that would be great. This whole "short sale" thing is a combined blessing and curse....crazy regulations and slow as molasses in winter, but also a nice house at a really good price. And Scoote is right, I do love this house...fireplace to curl up in front of on a winter evening, nice pool in a privacy fenced yard (skinny dipping yay!), beautiful kitchen, and a truly gigantic master bedroom for us. The kids would even have good sized bedrooms...so many houses we saw had great master bedrooms and then these tiny little boxes for the kids...not great for a pair of teenage boys. The finger crossing for today though is mostly for Scoote's doctor appointment. I nagged her into going (cuz she needs to) and I'm hoping he can help get rid of her pain. I hear you Jake...I always worry about anything relating to the spine...just so easy to screw things up in a big way. Okay I'm off to get some work done before my lunch "meeting"....she's a co-worker, although now on another team, so we can pretend we're working :giggle: Hope you all have a great day! :rrose: And :kissy: for you baby....hope it all goes well at the doctor :stillheart: |

They tell me surgery wont work..I hurt my back at work about 3 yrs ago--herniated one disc and bulged the other, which, when inflamed, pushes against my S1 nerve...does funky things to my back and legs...plus i have degenerative disc disease soooooo... anyway gonna go finish my V-8 then go wash myself i reckon...should smell good for the strange man who will be pushing and possibly sticking needles in my back hope everyone has a great day and to you baby :rrose: love you |

cold cereal sounds great *pours a bowl of Special K* do i hafta click on that lil Outlook icon down there? my e-mail is going to be all full of people wanting to know stuff...about stuff...*whine* |
Special K is awesome!!! I am eating the Cinnamon and Pecan one.
Just ignore that littly button and those nosey ppl can wait.. Have a good day, Zimmy Quote:

Good Evening Everyone,
I am babysitting Elijah overnight. His mother went into early labor today and her stepdad is taking her to the hospital. She is not sure if the dr's are going to stop her contractions or let her go all of the way. If they do, her little boy Caleb will be born soon... Dinner is light to! I am thinking of salads with assorted lunch meat, cheeses, veggies, dressings<organic and regular> and croutons. Have a good night and I will let you all know if they let Lisa have her baby or make her wait another three weeks... Zimmy |
Good evening all :)
I'm going to add some nice homemade mac & cheese to the salad selection, and a nice homemade apple pie for dessert. :eating: Busy, productive day today for work and another one on tap for tomorrow. The son and I go to get our eyes checked tomorrow adn I know there are new glasses in store for him at least. As it turns out we have a new asset manager working on our house purchase, and they're now saying we should have an answer by the end of the week or early next week. My fingers will be crossed until then... Hope everyone had a great day :rrose: :lips: baby.... :stillheart: |

i have gotten my last two pairs of glasses from http://www.zennioptical.com/home.php they were like 15 bucks total- frames, lenses, shipping....and i can see perfectly. |

I am in upstate NY...and one would think given we are up north that we would less humidity... nothing could be further from the truth.. when it gets hot here.. it gets hot.. I slept with the a/c on last night which I rarely do because I am going to get "sticker shock" on the next electric bill. However, I refused to wake up in the middle of night with My skin feeling like it is on fire.. and My body temp runs warmer anyhow. It is easier for Me to warm up than cool down. I had surgery in 07 on My L5 disc it was an L5-S1 discotomy. So essentially the same thing you have right now. The L5 disc herniated and was sitting right on top of the S1 nerve. I waited 4 years to have the surgery done because rarely is back surgery successful. I have to tell you though My back hurts alot less today than pre-surgery. However, it has not take all of the pain away. I think that is a given though. They never guarantee back surgery will be successful like they do other surgeries. It is always hit or miss. I have disc degeneration as well. I found that out last year. They did not find it initially when I had the surgery. But, for Me today it is definitely more manageable and not debilitating at all. I hope you got some decent news today from your doc's appointment. |
Quote:
Well that is good news that you have a new asset manager working on the house. Hopefully they will get things moving a little quicker for you both. I will keep you in My thoughts.. and cross everything I got.. ummmm. .. except the legs.. |
