LOL @ "SquareDyke".....

Yeah...same place! No worries! I'm confused most of the time, as we all know! :)

Here's a little MAP

Nothing beats raw fish.
Except maybe a good steak.
No. Let's go with fish. :D

TxBelle 01-24-2011 07:14 PM

Sadly, I am not to drive till Sat. I will be there, in spirit, though. Someone have a drink for me!

Gemme 01-25-2011 10:14 PM

When is Haiku?

Diva 01-25-2011 10:51 PM

I believe Arwen will pick Linus up at 6 and we shall convene in The Haiku at 6:30.....

Haiku, boys and girls,
For Austinites, we'll eat fish!
Or picnic on shrimp. :eyebat:

Haiku is when you write poetry based on rhythm counts. :|

Other than that, Diva is right.

shariberry 01-26-2011 10:03 AM

Hater Haiku :)

Sushi, why so raw?
Prefer breaded with ketchup
Like wasabi, though

I'm so disappointed we can't make it. Y'all have fun!

Sushi and Sake
Perfect pairing for winter
Rice must be sticky

Diva 01-26-2011 04:58 PM

If one has sake,
One does not care if it's raw.
Yum, yum, yum SUSHI!!!!!!!!

:eyebat:

Linus 01-26-2011 05:49 PM

Ok. Arwen is fighting traffic but should be here soon. For those that can make it this evening, see y'all soon. For those who can't :( Hopefully next time I'm here we can meet up. :)

Ebon 01-26-2011 10:05 PM

Good times this evening and the Sake was delicious!! The sushi was alright. :) Good to see you Linus.

I know that. I asked WHEN it was, but seeing as how it's over, I'm good for now.

The sake was eh, the sushi was deeeelish, the dessert was sweet and yummy and the company was absolutely fantastic!!! It was good to see you again, Linus. Much luck with your questions.

For the record, MY favorite TZ episode when the guy wanted to read the books and all the other people died and then he broke his glasses and he couldn't see to read. Ebon says it's called "Time Enough at Last". He's a TZ freak like that.

Thank you all for a lovely night. It was the perfect way to end the day.

Diva 01-26-2011 11:01 PM

What a great time!
Linus, it was sure good to see You again!
Thank You for the ice cream!!
And everyone else, too!

And guess what? I found my card! :)

Linus 01-26-2011 11:26 PM

I had a great time. I'll have to convince the company to definitely return to Austin for our last certification writing meeting. :)

Linus 01-26-2011 11:45 PM

Oh.. and before I forget:

Diva (and anyone else reading this), you have to see Kinky Boots (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434124/) Check out the poster alone!

Arwen 01-26-2011 11:58 PM

Pomegranate sake
Peeking through edamame
Windows reveal friends

Whew! What a great day. I got to see Ebon and Ash and Conner. My big bed is gone. I'm now sleeping in Conner's bed. My tv has a stand. I got to laugh and eat my weight in sushi. I learned the heaven that is pomegranate sake. I had Mexican vanilla ice cream. I got to play with Tarot cards. My dogs got to meet and greet their Uncle Linus.

Yes, it's been a day to put down in the memory book as a keeper.

Great to see Austin peeps out for dinner. Janey, my only regret is that the waiter didn't go for Kat's Sake Soup Smuggling. I think she was on to something.

Btw? There's ice in that hole. :|

I actually forgot two of my favs in Austin, The County Line BBQ and Cherry Creek Catfish

I only gave you the names of the ones I do recommend. Its a matter of personal taste I know but I listed my favs.

My fav seafood is Quality seafood, except for Catfish & hush puppies its Catfish Parlor with Cherry creek pulling second. Oh and if you like Banana pudding done right Catfish parlor has that covered too. Right Arwen?!?

My fav BBQ is Chislohm Trail, with Slat lick and Coopers 2nd, in Austin it depends what Im in the mood for. Ribs its Artz or County line, Chicken & turkey Green Mesquite, Beef brisket stubbs or Sams, Rudys is sausage....but they cant touch Chishom trails sausage...no one can IMHO

hee hee I can go on about my groceries! More info then Im sure you wanted

Reminds of the song 'America' from West Side Story:
Bernardo commenting on his return to Puerto Rico: "Everyone there will give big cheer!"
Anita's response: "Everyone there will have moved here." ha, ha

Sorry folks, couldn't resist! lol

Carry on...

I'm not sure about the others but I have to say that I really don't care for Artz's place. The menu is limited and the lady with the band came over the second we got our hands dirty with bbq, looking for tips. They do, however, have excellent banana pudding.
