packing for camping trip, cleaning the abode, and shopping....also found a parking spot during taste of Amherst....never an easy feat...im tuckered out already :P

bkisbutchenuff 06-18-2012 01:25 AM

I'm a tried butch - but oddly awake at this god awful hour...Sunday - I accomplished: cleaning out the 2 cupboards, cleaned out 2 freezers - defrosted one...washed and WAXED my jeep, also Armour Alled (sp?) my new boy toy - lawn tractor, filled the bird feeders, made humming bird nectar...too tired to cook - so i ordered pizza...Yum!

Blaze 06-18-2012 04:54 PM

*Deep Breath...
Went to work, opened every light in the building, checked the freezers, changed the weekly temperature grafts, turned on the televisions in each office, unlocked the all the doors and turned on the computers, made sure all Xerox printers were filled with paper, checked to make sure every machine in Endo was ready to go, pulled out all the scopes and turned on suction, went to in patient and checked to make sure they had everything they needed ordered until Wednesdays order, walked to PACU and did the same, turned on all the monitors, checked Ambi bags, got BP Cuffs ready and on, checked re fridge to make sure temps were good and didn't have a power failure over the weekend, walked to pre-Opt and turned on lights in each bay and monitors, checked Anesthesia cart and refilled missing items, walked into Decontamination and turned on sterilizer, washer, dry washer, beaded pumps etc, turned on anesthesiology machines, wiped down each room and bed, moved equipment to perspective rooms and walked down hall to check oxygen/nitrogen/notorious oxide room, then grabbed me a coffee. Welcome to Mondays, then had to create P.O.s and call them in.... Yes all in one breath... And I still thought that I missed something, and I probably did... :seeingstars:

Bard 06-18-2012 05:17 PM

got up and went to my gooses award presentation at her school made nice with the ex got to talk with gooses teacher and have her tell me how smart and sweet my daughter is. on our way home Deds and I found and went to our local library we both have new shiny cards.. came home worked on my kiddos bookcase painting took out the trash fed and took out the pups cleaned litter boxes and read now I am thinking about a bath in our big bath tub it is just that it takes a while to fill for some reason our water pressure sucks

JustJo 06-25-2012 09:23 AM

It's not even noon and already...

  • made coffee so it's ready when Snack wakes up
  • opened the house up for the critters
  • fed and watered critters
  • went to Curves....30 mins circuit and 10 mins stretching
  • some work for work :)
  • coffee with Snack
  • chopped up some fresh pineapple for all of us
  • moved laundry along
  • Rooster and I did a major pruning of the giant cactus out front (wayyyyyy overdue)
  • Snack hauled the old fence posts out to the curb and I hosed off the patio where they had dropped a bunch of mud
  • now heading for the shower!

It always feels so good to get things done!

bright_arrow 07-10-2012 11:10 PM

Came home and slept for hours.. I have been drained energy-wise lately.. I have not tested my sugar level in a week and a half (about the time Phoebe went missing and I was stressing out).. Bard may hurt me for this :|

Cleared off dining table, put leftovers away, washed down counters. Will try and sweep/mop tomorrow

Put the smoke alarm/CO alarms back up in hallway. I painted it a 'blue lagoon' color a few days ago. Also put up a print of a big tidal wave on a yellow background - it looks nice IMO

Finally got the black beaded curtain from Amazon for the kiddo - Put that up for her, and she thinks it is amazing *+1 point for me!*

Also put up a baby gate because the dogs like to go in her room, and there is a limit to how many times we should have to shampoo that rug >.>

Will tackle basket of laundry in the next day or two to get it put away in my dresser, and put up the second set of blinds in the bedroom. One day I will put up the remaining two in the living room so they are all the same color

desd
< easily aggravated by all the work needed to put up freakin blinds

JustJo 07-11-2012 07:51 AM

Put the mashed black currant to macerate in red wine and raw sugar for 48 hours, to make cassis liqueur.
Watered plants on deck (we are having a hot spell).
Had lunch on deck (whole wheat pita with baba ganoush, Persian cucumber and tomatoes and basil leaves).
Walked dog, had tea on deck.
Went to City Quilter to pick up my new sewing machine and brought it home. (new, and my very first one!).
Had dinner on deck (mini croissants with labneh, fresh dill, homemade gravlax and Persian cucumbers, washed down with ice-cold vodka).

New York rain

breakfast on deck with Tibetan spaniel
putting together my loom with mitigated success (why is it that the screws are so hard to drive in, and four of them are too long?)
visit to Goodwill, netting me a three quart size leather jacket from Banana Republic for $29.99 which fits me like a dream, and the leather is divine! Gotta love that!
met a French friend at the Japanese bookstore tea salon at Bryant Square to show her how to spin and give her some supplies, and as we were talking, the butch next to us started speaking French to us...turns out she is a tailor (her word), and when I asked her card, her name is Paul! He/She was talking to a client about making some manga outfit for an event, sketching as he/she talked!
went home, walked dog in the rain, had tea, spun some Shetland fiber, had dinner
a good day!

Bug foggered the front yard
Sprayed Round-Up on hella weeds
Letting it sit before I take dogs out so they do not step in it
Going to make chicken salad for dinner then finish putting up smoke/fire alarms
Will think about putting up other blinds in living room

I am wiped from work, and a bit grumpy to still not find out who got the promotion. Waiting for HR apparently - that delays it until Monday! We were supposed to know last Thursday.

bright_arrow 07-26-2012 10:38 PM

Worked in the front yard for almost two hours attempting to tame it down, swept and mopped kitchen / dining room / library, vacuumed upstairs and downstairs. Did one load of laundry, and completed album for my folks. In progress is album for my in-laws, pictures for my sister in-law, and remaining thank you cards. Put together package for Zombie basket, a package for a friend that has been feeling down in the dumps, and even did some more thank you cards!

Still need to pack for weekend :|

Hollylane 07-26-2012 10:40 PM

1 hour with Comcast Tech Support, 1 hour with Norton Tech Support...plus at least 20 minutes of hold time with each company...and you know what...I fixed the technical issue myself....:D

LeftWriteFemme 07-26-2012 11:30 PM

I escorted three bats out of the house tonight and didn't hurt or scare any of them.

What I accomplished today... (at work)

Me and my weekend sidekick work well together as a team and with the kids. We have been working on making Sundays a day of productivity so that the kids aren't just piled up on the furniture sleeping or watching movies all morning/day long. We have been working on a reward system (bribery in other words)... and what better way than food. LOL they are teens, however!

So anyway, during the week when we say productive time, there is no reward. It's just expected of them... but up until now, they were allowed to do whatever they wanted pretty much on the weekends. Within reason of course. Last week we started with cleaning the day room (sweeping, mopping, dusting). We had three takers and their reaward was a homemade apple pie that my sidekick fixed. Shall we say... the bragging from those three kids was great!!

So this week the productivity was to either fill out a job application online and show us or go out and pick one up and return it to us filled out in order to receive homemade banana-nut bread. Needless to say, we had seven takers!!

Now my sidekick and I both agree that we adults/staff should lead by example. We try to be just as productive in some way too. We certainly can't tell them to do something without being good role models right? So we took the corner where staff sits at two desks and tore it apart, cleaned, organized and rearranged... on top of our normal desk work and weekend chores of cooking, cleaning and laundering the bedding for all these kids.

Ha ha.... when we finished, and the kids were fed and rewarded we made a plate for the executive director and her secretary (who were working on grants on a Sunday) and ran it up to them. To top it off, ED's husband who is the director came down to pay a surprise visit and was thrilled with the progress of how my sidekick and I work together and are working this new insentive program for/with the kids. That is rewarding to us...

Next week who knows what the reward or the task will be but it's bound to be worth it all to see those kids movin' and groovin' with purpose! :cheesy:
