Happiness is... standing on a stormy beach with my hands out stretched towards the skies!

Happiness is...the laughter, smiles, funny cackle and beautiful eyes of an eight month old baby on his first swing ride outside.

Happiness is...this sweet baby stealing my heart just like my two boys and nieces did.

Pure happiness... THRILLING, EXCITING, HEART FLUTTERING HAPPINESS... was/is conquering fears of deep, dark water while taking my very first, solo kayak ride on a huge lake with choppy water and learning to navigate and turn thru fast currents that tried to sweep me way out into the wrong side of the lake. ..I was so thrilled and happy I did it all by myself without a single lesson or anyone to help...and how intensely happy it made me to face and overcome my fears of getting dumped in dark water. ...at first I was terrified, but it was my determination and stubborn will that made that quickly turn to thrilling excitement and happiness!

For over an hour (in a rented kayak) I navigated around obstacles such as an ancient cement spillway platform, buoys, old submerged tree stumps left from when they made the lake, tall metal poles used as markers where the swimming beach drops off and (close to shore) a tangle of lilly pads. ...I used the buoys to learn how to turn and weave between them...then I turned around and learned how to fight upstream against the current. ....after ,that, I skimmed near shore and got to quietly sneak up on a family of Killdeer birds as the babies were learning to leave their nest. Ohhhh boy did their momma scold me.

Everything about my adventure made me sooooo happy!! This is such a huge accomplishment for me on so many levels!!

Happiness to me is...first of all ... an inside job... it is me who makes me happy...first and foremost...living out of gratitude is the key I dare say.

but but but...if one should be so lucky to find a yang to their ying...
there can be an unexpected new level of happy...
the beyond words kind of happy...

additionally... photography makes me really happy... to me it is the one way you can hold the NOW forever...
to freeze a feeling, an experience, a wonder....

quite priceless...and often a gift to the world around me.

Happiness is.... Advocating for myself and "finding my Voice"....having a long, very productive conversation with a Supervisor (going over the head of my previous case reviewer) of one of the State's Health Care Policy offices today and getting VERY GOOD news about my case and the progress we are working towards. She absolutely made my day!

Happiness is being greeted with, and acknowledging true PROFESSIONALISM in the Health Care field, especially state offices...and finding someone that really does know what she's talking about, to help me navigate the system.

Happiness is, knowing I am a HUGE step closer to reaching my goal!!

Finding an out of the way spot to let my dogs run and play in the woods without worry of cars, bikes, people or other dogs

Even MORE Happiness is....
Spending over the last hour online with my niece so she could share her pictures from the last couple years. I love that girl and her sister beyond measure!! I may not be able to be there in person with them, but it sure was fun as she shared memories with me and I got to see how she's grown up, even if it's through pictures.

And I swear my oldest niece is my twin, one generation removed! right down to her freckles, smile, laughter and her interests and hobbies. Both girls just light up my world!

Spending some time online with my nieces and nephews plus getting a message from a good friend!! Just makes me smile even more and be more greatful for the things I have!!
