A wonderful evening stroll at lake Lure...

I saw a kingfisher

Fish jumping...way WAY high jumping

A snowy egret hunting and yet looking so graceful..It was like watching a nature ballet

seeing a youngish bear on the drive home...

The sunset. It really showed off tonight...gorgeous

Absolutely everything today...went boating on the lake. Finally got on another jet ski after my daredevil accident 2 years ago and then followed it all up with a bonfire dinner with good friends. Love these country summers

The birds and the bees

I saw some feathers furiously fluttering in the grass as I pulled into work this morning. At first I thought it was an injured or wounded bird and immediately wondered who I could call at this time of the morning (our Facilities team, Humane Society?). But before I finished that thought the bird flew away and I saw the other bird he was "resting" on. I think I may have interrupted them. Still, it put a smile on my face.

Nice way to start the day.

This thread.

It's really nice to hear about the things that make everyone happy. :)

So, one of my "clients" (for lack of a better word) made me smile today. She is just about as physically fragile as someone can be, but she was pissed today and when I arrived on the scene she was telling everyone about themselves. So, we talked and she felt comfortable when I left for the afternoon and that made me very happy; but what really made me smile was that after she was feeling better she said something that I won't try to describe in this post because it won't translate (you kind of had to be there) but it was so freaking funny, and so full of humanity at the same time.

Looking over on Mom's treadmill, she walked a mile today. Last week she started at a quarter mile, Thursday she went up to 3/4 mile and today she made her mile. Took her 35 minutes but I don't care long as she is moving.

Whenever I walk up behind my bulldog, he never turns around, he just wiggles his little corkscrew tail like crazy...it always makes me smile because he knows me just by the sound of my footsteps.

It just liquifies my heart every time. ❣

One thing that made me smile was helping a co-worker. I could have kept it and made my goals etc even higher and better but I gave it away so my co-worker could hit the level she needed to get a bonus. It made me feel good to do that.

This whole week was just an all around good week --work wise and personal stuff --just a really good, good week --and I am smiling about it all.

A lesbian couple in Natick was targeted, here is how the neighborhood responded

NATICK – Cari and Lauri Ryding always felt welcome on Strawberry Hill Road. Then they came home from vacation and discovered the rainbow flag they had hung after the Orlando massacre had been stolen and their front porch pelted with eggs.

“It really sent us reeling,” Cari said.

But what happened next reminded the couple why they loved the neighborhood in the first place. On Sunday, a squadron of children on bicycles delivered rainbow flags to house after house.

And one by one, the flags went up, transforming a swath of suburbia – more than 40 houses in all — into a brilliantly colored declaration of pride and solidarity, displayed on picket fences, garages, doorways, and decks.

Hugs and kisses from my residents and coworkers...

And not one..not two...but THREE spontaneous "I love you"s from three different residents...

Happy tears may have ensued..

And

Taking several residents outside to enjoy the perfect weather. They don't get out often enough. They were all so happy to be out in the sunshine. I (we) take for granted the freedom we have as able bodied individuals. Often. Just my opinion .
