Well I tried my best to stay really grumpy all damn day long, but sometimes certain people just won't let you! :D

Talking to this old Irish guy this morning at the diner. He had one of those metal mercedes symbols hanging from his walker...so, of course, I had to talk to this guy, and what a doll he was...95 and sharp as a tack...still travels out of state to visit his sisters. He just had such a great sense of humour and warmth about him.
He then tells me the symbol was taken from his car...and I said, "Buddy, if I were a much older lady, you'd be in BIG trouble, my friend." *And these are the great moments in life. |
Tonight on the ride home, I saw a shooting star.

My cat waited until the coffee was brewed before demanding love and a snack, he is vocal and purrs his head off

About five hours of kayaking with dopey dog. We explored new places, happened upon a very serene fishing hole, found a nice place to swim, and we scouted out a pretty cool spot for a picnic (protein shake and a peach for me, Scooby snacks for her). It was just what I needed to help me find peace with some things that have been on my mind for awhile. Life is good. :)

BFP did today. Well to be completely honest my curiosity while on BFP did. For it lead me to a couple of members profiles where I of course read their about me section. Whenever I do that something there almost always makes me smile. Whether it's thier relationship status, favorite quote, or signature some of you are rather inventive, intelligent, and creative. So you made me smile and I appreciate it.....

Having a great day at work. I have been alone for three days now and the residents are very sweet. Talking to them is fun and you learn a lot about their lives.
Coming home to a envelope full of postcards, both new and vintage. Made my day even better! Zimmeh |

ferret's post - "CIJS - What the hell am I thinking, that I actually deserve to be treated with respect. It's no wonder I'm not fond of the human race."
Actually more than just causing me to smile it made me laugh - I believe we all have moments like this and the key when it's happening is to remember even though it might not seem like it at the time, in reality, these things rather than sticking around forever tend to come and go in waves. Hang on, ride the crest - sooner or later things will level off, smooth out. It's the only option because if you fight it, let it get you down best case scenario it's going to only get you no place fast and worst case scenario - wipe out. The older I get the more I realize better to just brace myself and going with the flow, ride the wave. Though it always does feel like "this crap is never going to end" when it's happening, in reality it never actually really does last forever. Sooner or later something has got to give and until then :hangloose: |

I don't know what's up with traffic lately, but today I decided to let others turn onto streets or merge into traffic. I think some of them were totally surprised that anyone would let them turn or join the traffic flow. Whenever I got a smile, I gave a lovely smile too.

Someone cheering me on today.

That comment led to our first real talk about my transtion and how much my home town is finally trying to make life a little easier on trans* kids in school. We also talked about how my transtion affects her she just had a hard time recalling to call me he but apologized when she slips. I hold her your trying and in time it will get easier. Just that she is trying means the world to me. She ended the conversation by telling me not to shave the stash and get going on the gotee |
Go Sox!
The Boston Red Sox have won the AL East, clinching the division championship when the Toronto Blue Jays lost to Baltimore.
