Do you have any suggestions for the area?

Predictably, Kerby Lane (it's close to Ebon and Kat's place.)
Olmeca is also close to Diva's.
Magnolia is in-between

How about Taqueria Arandas @ 2448 S 1st St? TIt's not in the area I was thinking, but it's one of Chad's favorite places :)

Ebon and Gemme,

I wish we could help, but my back's been on hiatus for the last couple of weeks and I'm pretty sure blush would kill me if I tried to pick up anything more than my toothbrush. Good luck with the move!

Yes! Thank you so much :rrose: Don't let him eat too much or he'll be no good for moving...

Ebon-Chad will be so jealous of your permanent close proximity to his restaurant!

I would like to see Chad and everyone else But my car is dead:bigcry: I will be renting a car on the weekends in March and looking to buy another. But I will check the Bus schedule and if its not to far I will join you all.

No worries, Goof. I'm at a shortage of lighter than air boxes, so that definitely wouldn't work. Get better!

Maybe the fact that we're moving away from his favorite restaurant will take the sting out of it? And no worries on eating too much. I haz a plan. I have small and light, small and heavy, medium and light, medium and heavy, big and heavy and DAYUM sized boxes. We'll start him on the smaller ones until some of breakfast digests.

Friday, March 4th: the bull-jean stories,
an Adaptation Featuring Q-Roc Ragsdale
Sharon Bridgforth's "the bull-jean stories" serves as the foundation/inspiration upon which this multi-disciplinary performance artwork is being created. By weaving filmed stories and documentary interviews with live performance and visual art, Q-Roc will create an environment for the audience to co-exist with the artist as they are immersed in the world of rural, working class bull-daggas, together witnessing stories that speak to generations of bull-jeans.

Time and Location:
8pm, The University of Texas at Austin, Winship Drama Building 2.180, 300 E. 23rd Street, Austin, TX 78705

Been reading all the posts, and feeling the love amongst you all - it is so heartwarming to see how close the community is, and step up to the plate to help each other.

I hope to meet many of you on my visit and get to know you a bit. I will be arriving mid-March. The length of my stay is indefinate at the moment, but I hope to squeeze in some sightseeing, and folk-meeting. Hoping to build some warm memories to take back home for those cold wintry nights...

Diva, I hope you had a great birthday - sure sounds like you did. :)

TIMBERWOLF 02-27-2011 10:16 AM

A big thank you to all who came out last night. It was the perfect touch of intimacy for me so thank you. My house is properly warmed.

Nayru and Batman send happy, but tired, tail wags to their cousins in the valley. They went to sleep the moment Daddy left and have not woken up since unless I move. Sacked out puppies. And thanks to the cousins' parents who are those kind of friends that I know I can trust my babies with! Hugs! Don't forget to come get some king cake!

Puplove 03-07-2011 12:03 AM

All righty, looks like there will leprechauns dancing around our house next week, so might as well have a St. Patrick's Day party, only a couple days later to give us enough time to exterminate the leprechauns first.

March 19
And it'd be startin' at 6:30 or so, then.

We'll have green stuff to drink, but I'm not guaranteeing the green stuff will properly satisfy your thirst like the drink of choice you might want to bring. (It may be lime koolaid, perhaps a sherbet punch. If you put green food coloring in Red Bull. does it turn green or brown or just nastier?)

Of course we'll have green stuff to eat; I'm leaving things out of the refrigerator already so they get to the proper festive St. Patrick's Day hue by the 19th. Has there ever not been enough food here?

Will ye send a little note letting us know if you'll be there so we know how much gold to take from the leprechauns?

The PupOil hotel is filling up fast with some visitors from afar (we hope!) so if you'll be a drunken bastard without a backup driver, speak for your sleeping spot soon.

Work yes.
Later yes.
Earlier no.

Walk the plank and pick a four-leafed clover if you followed this.
If you didn't, have two ales and one whiskey. Get back to me.

As usual, we will have the place decorated up and will have the appropriate party wear. However, if you aren't wearing something green, be prepared for a pinching BEFORE we hook you up with the green! Just sayin'.
