Receiving two envelopes of Postcards from Homoe. I love anything vintage and French.

Knowing that my stepdad's grandma is feeling much better today, after three days in the hospital.

Ohhh and while we were perusing the farmers market my eldest called. Liz and I had just been discussing how we hadn't heard from her in a while.

Gotta Love Small Towns

I had 3 boxes arriving at the post office today weighing around 40 pounds each. The post mistress and postal worker insisted on loading the boxes onto my dolly, a little girl opened the door for me and one of the postal workers insisted on going out to my car to load the boxes for me even though I assured them it was fine and I could do it. What great service. Gotta love small towns!

Got a long distance call from a very close friend, was nice to hear from her. Gave a load of goodies to the shell group for the kids on Halloween. Love it.

No, I'm sure we are making the profit.

I bought some today and treated the girls at work, a taste of good chocolate. I talk about it, I'm from California and it was always a treat to get a big chocolate egg at Easter.

Best surprise ever, a box delivered to me at work, after I moved to Texas. Sigh...sexy Butch! 😘😘😘

I accidentally ripped off a tiny but very loud toot in the bathroom at work today. Immediately broke into a fit of laughter. Two stalls down laughed hard with me! Heh Heh! It's great to get other people laughing with (at?) you too.

with/at ... who cares ... it was just plain funny

"I fart on the first date."
I figure, "Hey, just go on and get that out of the way."

(in a goofy mood tonight) :)

I saw a friend of mine that I hadn't seen in 6 years! We met up at a local orchard and did some catching up.

And

Tonight my daughter's good friend is passing through on his way to Cincinnati. We're gonna go have a beer at a local pub and listen to some Celtic music :)

I have so much in my life to smile about...but today...my sweet little dachshund, Hope.

She is blind, but she doesn't know it. This little girl came from deplorable hoarder conditions, in May. I got her in July...she & I are very bonded. Her fave thing to do, besides being velcroed to me 24/7 is to lie back against my arm, with her body sitting upright...she leans back, secure knowing she is safe...and will put her paws together, working them as if she is swimming, & comes close to my face..she is so gentle as she pets me..I love it. I haven't ever had a dachsie do this before.

Her love is unconditional & she is just a happy little baby...her hair is almost all grown back in..horrible flea & food allergies...BUT she is with the bravest & gentlest of hearts...I love her..she brings smiles to me all day long every day....

Bèsame* 10-31-2016 03:25 PM

It's Halloween and the Scent of Pumkin Pie baking is filling the house!

Thank you Mom! I love you!

Taking a nice warm shower after having to take cold ones for 2 days due to an issue with my propane. It definitely is those little things in life. Oh and the fact that it's November and I'm running around in shorts in nice, sunny weather.

Women could not Vote the last time the Cubs won. And now a female Cubs fan will be President.

*A few factoids on the Cubs chances down 1-3

In coin-flip terms, what are the Cubs' chances of coming back?

Assume these two teams are evenly matched and thus each has a 50 percent chance of winning a given game. That means the Cubs' "side of the coin" is going to have to come up three straight times. Simple probability tells you there's a 12.5 percent chance of that happening. There's your quick and dirty guide to the Cubs' chances of upsetting the Indians in the 2016 World Series.

How many teams have won best-of-seven postseason series after being down 3-1?

Not counting this year's Cubs, 81 teams have fallen behind 3-1 in a best-of-seven playoff series. Of those 81 teams, 12 have come back to win the series in question -- five times in World Series play. Overall, that means 14.8 percent team of teams in the Cubs' position have pulled off the comeback. At this point, you'll note that history is a bit kinder to such teams than is the coin-flip model.

What about those teams who, like the Cubs, will have to play the final two games on the road?

Good point. If the Cubs win Game 5 and extend the series, then they'll play Game 6 and if necessary Game 7 at Progressive Field in Cleveland. As it turns out, 44 teams down 3-1 have been tasked with winning the final two games away from home, and six have pulled it off. That comes to 13.6 percent of such teams. That's not as promising as those overall "down 3-1" numbers, but it's still a bit better than the coin-flip outlook.

My supervisor...

I called her last night to touch base and hinted around being nervous about bringing my client bowling...because I don't know the first thing about it...

She confessed she doesn't know much either but agreed to meet me at the bowling alley so we could help each other learn. What a woman!

Playing hide n seek with Sadie and both of us running through the house like little kids do when their parents are not home. She cracks me up because the only time she growls at me is when we play hide n seek and then it is a playful puppy growl. :dog:
