Waking up to realize that I think I mostly actually slept through the night! That's a kind of big deal around here.

an incredibly fulfilling run and memories so beautiful they reminded me of... so much beauty, intelligence, creativity...and love. Yes, a wonderful run...

A tender moment <3

Getting to wear my new BAMF winter coat that showed up on my doorstep yesterday as a surprise Christmas gift from my parents. I have gained some weight and had nothing that fit and no money to buy a new winter coat. It snowed so it was much needed and it was also a good feeling to have something that fit. It was perfect!

Actually, it was yesterday but the smiles have lasted because I stuck them in my freezer. :) I stopped by the Subway up the street from my house early yesterday morning to grab a cup of joe and say hi to a friend of mine who is the manager there. As we were talking, she was unloading the cookie case and filling it with freshly baked cookies. The next thing I knew she presented me with a bag filled with the cookies from the case. There had to be 30+ cookies in there.
Two doors down from the Subway is a small laundromat and there are usually 2 or 3 women sitting outside, either because they work there or are waiting for their clothes to finish. Anyway, I walked over and explained where I got the cookies from, so they hopefully would not think me some kind of cookie peddling perv, and offered them some of the cookies. Only one woman accepted, saying she would take them home to her kids, so I unloaded about a 1/3 of them there. The rest are in my freezer, but I will likely give some to my neighbors as well. Take a bite out of a cookie then look at it...it's a smile! :) |
I kin haz a seeecret!

I had fun today even though I got lost on my way. While getting lost, I found the new Plato's Closet that opened up recently.

Evening light...
It's amazing how it goes from dark and bottomless to almost pink on the horizon...and with all the increments of blue in between.... It's the little things... :) |
my almost 3 year old grand daughter went to the dollar store tonight and picked out presents to give to the people in her life. Someone is getting coin rolls! LOL. Her Daddy is getting a big foam green hat! I loved hearing about it...that little girl is the sunshine in my heart!

That memory made me smile today. |
Proving to someone that she underestimated me...again. It seems to be a difficult feat for some humans to see beyond their own egos.

Chatting with my best friend this evening.

tonight my grand daughter, daughter and SIL came to celebrate Christmas with us. After a feast of cherry ham, wild rice, deviled eggs, and a salad, we unwrapped presents. The wee one opened all our gifts whether they were for her or not. She just gets sheer joy out of unwrapping the presents! LOL.
Remember when I said she had gone shopping for everyone? Well, I was given a bag of pipe cleaners from her. LOL. And my husband got a set of fake mustaches! LOL!!! We loved them! We got her a pink english saddle, for she is a little horsey girl. She is going to start lessons this summer and now has her own saddle! (she is almost 3)We also got her some dolls, and a breyer horse. We didnt go overboard. It was a sweet simply holiday gathering but the little girl didnt want to leave "bubi and pops house"...she kept asking if she could stay longer, and even when she left, my daughter texted me and told me she was begging them to take her back to us again soon. I love being a grand mother. I love these moments with her. I am so glad I am here and can enjoy her. I have another grand daughter coming in March, Evangaline. These two will be my reason to keep smiling... |

Giving the baby his gifts and watching everything go in his mouth. Typical 9 month old. He is just the sweetest.

That incredibly beautiful soul I am blessed to have in my life. I love her!

I had an interesting, great day. I'm gonna pay for it, but it was great.

Knowing my pale pink walls in the garage will be finished today (I insisted he not come and finish today, but he lives around the corner, is my the husband of one of my besties, and he promises he'll be done in an hour).
It really looks nice and I'm a happy camper. |
made me smile
Waking up, thinking about this day, things I will enjoy accompolishing.
*looking up at Orema, smiling and waving* |
While sitting here on the laptop, I'm listening to Nemo and Dory play and race around their cage. Ripping up paper, diving into their nest and chasing each other around and around. Healthy happy critters. Makes me smile knowing how far they have come.

Someone noticing that I always laugh after I say certain things. It made me laugh and smile even more.

My lady...
She's so happy with everything I do. She also loves to share her vast family history with me. She has much wisdom... |
Met a woman in dog park that tried to convince me that her "corgi-plus" was really a german shepherd with short legs.

Last night in the middle of rolling my eyes at the Inventory supervisor, she just didn't get organization!
My phone went off with a text. I pulled my phone out, wishing it was sweet message. It was...just to see how things were going, and a sentiment of 💌. |
Weighing myself and finding out I have lost 6 pounds in the last month!
|
Thinking about a snow day tomorrow! This means working at home in fuzzy socks, a messy bun, and jammies!
|
I had a lot of interactions at work today that gave me smiles, and some belly laughs.
|
I ran into a friend of mine today, and the first thing she said to me was, "How much weight have you lost?"
I have been sticking solidly to a Paleo eating plan for 11 days, but she was not aware of this. I knew I had lost some weight/inches because of the way my shirts fit now, but I haven't bothered weighing. It made me smile knowing that my efforts are paying off, and that a friend took the time to notice the weight loss. It felt good! :) |
An additional 5 mg of Abilify. I just started this dosage 4 days ago, and OMG The Relief Is Amazing. I've been in an especially bad funk for several months, i.e., worse than the usual funk. Now I feel like I did back in the days when Prozac still worked for me. This morning I caught myself doing a little dance step to "Fame" playing in the elevator at work.

Hearing that my client's husband, who is apparently sparing with his praise, told my boss numerous times how much he likes me...
:) |
Catching a big black and gray Tabby stranger kitty out of the corner of my eye .. giving me a belly rolling show on the back patio as I was doing the dishes. So, so cute.
|
TV and dinner with my butch, spooning her as she fell asleep, helping a friend in need.
