I like this season better than last season.

Except I miss Eggs.

Sookie needs to get Alcide to fix up her house, it's still tragic from last seasons parties.

and

I wonder what Jesus will turn out to be?

[For those not reading the Books Eric's Maker chomped on the last Heir to the Romanov Dynasty..]

Yeah but, in the book...Eric's maker was not the nice godric from tv. He was pretty much a pedophile. So not sure how they would tie in bringing over Alexei. The whole father/brother/son dynamic from the book doesn't exist in the same way in the show.

I do however, want the Eric shower scene from the book. I want the whole Eric losing his memory plot line and what ensues. ;) Maybe next season.

Alcide is after all a contractor!

OOOOH I smell a continuity error coming on!

All of the speculation that Lafayette is something supernatural is probably correct. Most likely it'll turn out he's a "natural" witch. That makes him a Supe, right?

BUT! Maryanne was able to control Lafayette - and Supes were supposed to be immune to her powers.

Rook 08-10-2010 08:17 PM

hmm...
Now that u mention Eric's maker's proclivities...
Remember when Eric saw the waitresses kids?{damnit I forgot her name again, crud}
For a moment I thought 'Oook, guess who's not talkin to my kids anymore..Don't care if his flying skill impresses them'
{I was under the impression his Maker preyed on kids for their young blood....}

As for Maryanne Controlling Lafayette...
I thought it strange...
Ok, he's Queer, and the "Tranced" subject had lotsa heter/bi sex...
But still...
In all of this, the only change was his Attitude, he did do as told..
It was shown to us that he saw things Distorted..Maybe he was only partially under her control....?
He acted more Insane when he drank from Erics blood {which btw, is the best Scene of his so far...gawds..I laughed so hard}
Eric has more pull than Maryann had...
{"let's go RuPaul"-snicker-}
That and well...
Gimmie a car like that, hooker...I'll follow u like a sick puppy too.

I'm excited about the thought of Lafayette finding out who he really is. I think Maryanne was able to control him because he has yet to embrace is power. :)

Apocalipstic 08-11-2010 01:20 PM

I agree wholeheartedly.

My favorite scene of the entire series is when Eric has hair dye foils in his hair and gets blood all over himself in the basement with Lafayette! Everytime I get my hair done I giggle.

I am excited about finding out who Lafayette really is too, his Mom and Aunt are nuts!

I wonder of Jesus is Jesus.

OHHH I can;t wait till Sunday! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

As long as he does it shirtless and barefoot, I'm good.

And barefoot. I think bare feet are sexy. I'm weird, I know. But we do get to see his back sometimes.

He's nekkid after he shifts. We've seen butt, I'm sure we've seen him shirtless.

Actually he was kinda hot with that dog collar on last week.

Miss Scarlett 08-11-2010 06:57 PM

What's up with Bill's hair?

I think Franklin is dead but I think he'll still be tormenting Tara via her memories, etc.

Bubba would be fun but not as a regular. I think he could wear thin visually.

I'm interested in what Claudine meant about Sookie's parents not dying in the flood...

Thought it was great when Sam made the comment about Joe Lee's baggy underpants...seriously though, Melinda needs a bottle of Clorox.

Really Sookie...did you have to shoot the dollhouse?

Jess 08-11-2010 07:20 PM

Tomorrow, new episode ....I got count down widgets and shit..lol..

Bill/Sam "slash" kinda Squicked me...:blink:

I agree..
I think Franklin will make cameos in Tara's messed up Fantasy world...
Much like Godric appears in Eric's Memories now....

oh yeah and umm...Bonkers doesn't cover Franklin...
Psychotic maybe...
Passive-Agressive, maybe...
Nympho's a given....
Why does Tara socialize with the Nuts?..I know that's an understatement for that Series, but...she takes the cake...
let's see
Eggs...
Maryanne....
Fake Juju/Hoodoo witch...
Sookie {smirk}..Oh wait... Suckie{thanx Bill !!}

Miss Scarlett 08-15-2010 07:58 PM

Promo for next week's episode is up. Looks exciting!

Arwen 08-15-2010 10:16 PM

I've been avoiding this thread until I could watch the taped version. I'm SO watching that again.

My stepson and I watched it together. We agree... Best. True.Blood.EVAH

Talk about taking it up a notch. We only thought Maryann was bad news.

And what's with the new waitress who is up in EVERYONE'S business?

Until next week.

No spoilers but the roof scene over Fangtasia was wildly insane. Gotta love him.

She's a witch. Not sure how they are going to play her out. Holly in the books was good - but I do wonder if they won't make Holly in the show into a bad witch.
Time will tell - hopefully within the next 3 episodes so we don't have to wait a whole freaking year.

OH GOD did you see the ornamental jar he had on the roof? Hysterical!

Okay. Next time I won't ask. LOL I didn't actually want to know yet. I love letting it unfold. I did not like the first book so never read any others. My writing partner loves these books and has read all of them. I thought the character of Sookie in the first book needed to just die and get it over with. She was like an older version of Bella from Twilight. :)

Ooops, sorry. I always presume people mean it when they ask. Should I white my post out so no other non-book-people see it? Maybe I will.

The show is waaaaaay better than the books. The characters are a zillion times more likeable in the show. And the hateable ones are a zillion times more hateable, too. :)

And now for the weather. Tiffany?

I thought I would fall out of my bed laughing. And no worries about answering. :) I did ask!

I really loved the scene between E and P where he told her what to do if... Very touching.

Russell is sooooo delightfully twisted!

I love the relationship between Eric and Pam.

Rook 08-16-2010 07:03 AM

Eric & Pam reminded me of Eric & Godric, with the difference of time together {ageism at its finest !!}

Russell..well...fucked in the head is an understatement, I don't care how long I've been with someone, how good we fucked throughout the Centuries *or millenniums, which explains why he tolerated Talbots bitchiness*, how cute, sexy & smart.....I understand his pain and grief, but I sure as fuck won't hug and talk to their slimey entrails, much less place it in a crystal Urn and carry it around....
Fuck that. :huhlaugh:
During the "news" I was real close in picking 2 Ships to follow...Eric and Russell...
The way Fucker kept talking, holding the spine for emphasis, gawds,:vampire: "We get it, u ripped it out, throw it away !"
"Don't you dare turn that camera off!" After seeing what he did, I would leave it on too...
I lost it when he casually talks to the weathergirl :cracked:

My fave part though is when the Authority tells Eric he's pardoned, that glance, a mix of stunned /surprised/ confused, added bonus of "hmm??" with a tilt of his head :blink: ...

These cliffhangers are slowly becoming tedious, and we got 3 episodes left, someone tell Sookie what she is already, damn...
They also need to hurry and show Crystals clan's true colors..
I figure, if Tara was a royal mess before Jason showed to save the day*cue mighty mouse music*...She's gonna be a lunatic now...
I think Jesus is a were-jaguar...
Tommy needs an asswhoopin' like never before, and Sam should pay someone to do it...
Arrogant lil ingrate...
I think Lafayette's mum isn't as crazy as she seems...
Eccentric, but not crazy

:glasses:

Miss Scarlett 08-17-2010 04:29 AM

I am still stunned by Sam's actions at the end of this last episode...where did all that come from?

I actually think this has been layered in over the last few episodes and even the last two seasons. He's taken so much and never said anything. He's never acted out. He's always done the right thing.

Season three? Say hello to the new bad boy in town, Sam Merlotte.

I just have to say that I am so hooked on this show! I haven't read the books, but have caught up on all three seasons and now can't miss it. So much camp, so much fun! I also have to say that it has been fun reading this thread and all the insight/thoughts from folks. Love it!
