Checking in...
Shadows Papa and I are safe. I am northeast of Nashville and we have a lot of flooding at major intersections. My home is safe as I am up on higher ground. They have opened a shelter here in town, but I think we will be ok here. I have also been in contact with Spirit Dancer! Davidson County (Nashville) has been declared a disaster area. They are talking about starting the process of sandbagging on the Riverfront Park, to help protect the downtown area. |
Thanks June, just had heard from Angie, was getting concerned the mountain may have been washed away.
I talked to Jodi this morning-ish and she is fine, as are we here. Mom's house is flooded 'cause she sits on a foundation, but mine is fine with its 'crawl space'. So glad she is in the Nursing Home. That would have been a disaster to try to deal with. Just talked to Shark and he is back home safe now. Goomba HAD to have cigs and coke. LOL Some folks that aren't on here but that some of us know, Andy, Ruthie, Nicole, and Das, are all okay too. Flooding in their neighborhoods but not at their homes. Thanks for keeping in touch folks. A |
Oh and forgot I heard from Mountainbike (Deb) this morning too and she's ok. As is Nikki.
|
Things okay over here in Memphis. We weren't hit nearly as hard, at least in the city itself. Lots of flooding on streets where it dips down but can't take a boat through town. Outlying areas were hit much harder - Millington, just north of here had 5+ feet of flooding over the whole town. Apparently lots of power outages here too, but I'm not affected.
Very glad that my Nashville peeps seem to be okay though. |
Gives June a big ole TENNESSEEE smooch! All is well, a bit of water coming up on the patio, but has gone down.
All my sexy niblets appear to be safe! All that matters..... :D :badmood: Pinky is over it! |
All is good here ! :cheer::cheer:

Hang in there Tennessee folks! Puplove landed in Nashville today and needless to say, things aren't going well at the Opryland hotel right now. Keeping all of you in my thoughts! Keep letting us know how everything is going.

It's my understanding they are evacuating Opryland hotel right now .....
|
I saw the Opryland Hotel on the news a little while ago and it did not look like it was in danger of the flooding...the Opry Mills Mall had water standing in the parking lot
update (just saw this on the news)...that does make sense to evacuate because they are going to release some water at Old Hickory Dam (because of the pressure it is causing) My brother called earlier, they were out checking on the boats and semis. Well his best friend lost his semi (tractor and trailer), the only thing they could see was the smoke stacks on the cab of the tractor. He has only had this semi for a few months and just got the business up and running in the last few weeks. His semi was parked in Bethpage. |

Spoke to SD last night and they're safe after watching the water rise on their property. The police came and evac'd them safely.
Spoke to Oiler last night late, too....and He said that Pup had made it to the HS and we both agreed that she will NOT be amused about sleeping on the floor of some gym with God~only~knows HOW many people! I can't even imagine! But the bottom line is that everyone in our community seems to be safe, yes? But a sleepover at Billy's WOULD have been fun! :lol2: (I'm thinkin' Y'all should do it ANYway!) |

Good morning! What a ride. SO very glad I do not work at hotels any more. What a nightmare.
I am at work, but had to come an alternate route, my usual way is 6 feet under water. Debris and crunched guard rails on Interstate and very little traffic. We have a big show going out today, or I might have stayed home. I hope everyone is safe. Love you guys and thanks for checking on us! |
WOW!!!
I am sitting here watching the report on Opryland Hotel. Thank goodness they did take the necessary precautionary measures last night, because the hotel is flooded. It is sad to see all the standing water! |

People were fussing about being evacualted too, I am so glad they did! |
