ya know, the elk horn was for the dog, it was gotten at a actual doggy store.
the drift wood is for you, cause you like crafty things! It would be karmatic justice if the dog got a hold of it though

maybe the dead line should be my birthday!!!!!!!!! April 24th! that gives everyone time.

*hrumph* to karmatic justice. *injured sniff* the dog gets plenty of bones to chaw upon; she cannot have my driftwood.... and neither can her brother! :hrmph:

So, I sure hope everyone meant it that cat hair is not a problem... how funny that so many of us have cats!

Please remember to use the Asheville address for Nick (Paphigleo).

I like the April 24th deadline! That helps a lot.

All the addresses should be in the Database on the Yahoogroup. Log into Yahoo. Go to the email list. Click on Database on the left hand side to access the database. :)

i had been there and i went back
"complete phone book" in my way of thinking means something to be completed, not something that is done, that would be "completed phone book"
so I clicked it and magically there it is!!!!!!
thank you

amiyesiam 04-08-2010 11:40 PM

ok everyone
I just finished printing out all the on line post office postage !!!!
Our mail lady will be picking them up in the am

Linus there are 2 in your box for the both of you
Can everyone take the time to let me know when you get them

christie 04-10-2010 11:04 AM

So, after the new bed delivery this morning, I was out the door to the post office, squares ready to be packed in jiffy bags and posted.

Trip to wally world to pick up jiffy bags. Sat in the car for 20 mins stuffing the squares into the bags (I got too small a size, I think) and addressing them.

Stop at the post office, bag full of stuffed envelopes, a digital cable box ready to be mailed back to Comcast (of the devil, I tell ya) and my mother's 75th bday afghan (twin bed spread size). I struggle to the door under my various postal packages and low and behold... they are CLOSED!!! :overreaction:

They are all in the car and I will post them from Richmond on Monday.

Awww Christie, that kinda thing happens to me too.

My local grocery store has a scale and sells postage, so that's where I'll be taking the envelopes this coming week.

Ami, I'll be on the watch for the box.

Bit 04-12-2010 04:12 PM

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Ami}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} The driftwood is MARVELOUS!! Thank you so very very much!!

The twisty stick is mine; I claimed it. :cheesy: Gryph can have the other one though, if he would like.... but the twisty stick? Mine! Mine! Mine! <insert seagull smiley here, lol>

Keeping track: I have received swapghan and raffleghan squares from Ami and from Christie.

I have managed to address envelopes to go out to y'all... no squares inside those envelopes yet, though, lol...

christie 04-12-2010 05:45 PM

Mine went into the mail system today. Here's praying that USPS has a clue. Being in the mail business, I am not that hopeful! LOL

amiyesiam 04-14-2010 11:12 AM

Linus 04-14-2010 11:48 AM

Welp. I just sent out ours. K helped me with some since I was having a heck of a time keeping my lines straight (I swear I measured it with each row! ) Anyways, those who got the green ones... sorry. :( I did try very hard. They are mostly straight...

No worries from me, Linus. There isnt anything "remotely straight" about me :cracked:

(sometimes, I crack me up)

Linus 04-14-2010 02:15 PM

LOL.. well, it was taking me about a day or two to do one square (I'd look at it, realize it was uneven, unravel it and try again). Thankfully, K felt pity for me and helped me out with some.

Not to worry, darlin! The beauty of knitting and crochet is that they are sooo forgiving--being stitched into an afghan will likely correct any inconsistencies in the various squares.

Jusy fyi when you're making projects for yourself, if a square is really crooked, it can always be blocked, also. You wet it, smooth it to the proper size and shape, and pin it down, then let it dry. Solves all KINDS of problems!

Bit 04-15-2010 10:02 PM

*shuffles in, head hanging* yes, I missed even the extended deadline... I got sick. We have to go buy cat food later today, I will do my best to mail the squares then.

amiyesiam 04-28-2010 11:19 AM

I just want to know if folks are still doing it and about where they are

Bit 04-28-2010 09:49 PM

:|

Um, Ami... *stage whisper* that's kinda personal, hon....

*sorry for teasing ya, that was JUST too good to pass by, lol*

I took my squares to the mail center at the grocery store tonight; they'll be picked up and taken to the main post office tomorrow and should arrive to people in a few days.

I'm feeling pretty dork-ly about the whole thing... remember how shocked I was that my squares were not 12" after all, and I got delayed by having to add extra rows to them?

I measured them again before I put them in the envelopes this afternoon.

13 1/2".

:knit:

Well, at least now I know why I ran out of yarn, eh? Um, I have leftover yarn now.

this is what happens when you are running late for work

I assure you I don't really want to know, (in any way shape or form)
if people are DOING IT

I am courious as to how people are coming along with their projects.

Bit 04-29-2010 06:10 PM

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Ami}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} LOL, hon, we know... sorry I couldn't resist teasing. *hangs head, penintent*

Hey, I heard from Nick; he's still pretty far behind. I think he's been working a lot of double shifts lately.

sweetcali 05-01-2010 09:00 PM

I do so humbly apologize for NOT getting mine mailed out yet. Life was in session in our house for a couple of weeks now. I will get them mailed out this week. I am so very sorry for not getting them mailed.

christie 05-02-2010 04:34 AM

Bit 05-03-2010 06:51 AM

{{{{{{{{{{{{sweetcali}}}}}}}}}}}}}} Glad you checked in, hon! I was worried about you.

Now where the heck is our Arwen? Has she recovered from her latest Writers' Road Trip yet?

We haven't heard from Liz either... you okay, sugar?

amiyesiam 05-03-2010 11:22 AM

I got Cath's square today!!!!! Very pretty!

christie 05-03-2010 06:35 PM

Bit 05-04-2010 12:34 PM
