I am here in solidarity to protest the footlet.

(I have nothing to add when it comes to socks. I go barefoot or wear flip flops/sandals with my shorts and t shirts, even when going out at night in November. I could get used to this.)

How many socks rest beneath the ankle? And look at this:
http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/d/l225...9afSFcDH4w.jpg

It might be wearing a sign but in what world is that a sock?

Our world is only a tiny spec of what's in the Universe.

Maybe footlets are all the rage on Saturn.

You don't know.

All I see when I see that house slipper is warmth.

Which is kind of weird (to call a slipper a beddie), because you don't where slippers IN the bed.

She also calls a vaccuum cleaner a sweeper. Which of course makes no sense.

She calls taking the dog out to pee, "watering the dog".

My mother has problems.

Slipper socks can be worn to bed.

Calling a vacuum a sweeper is not strange. It's generational and regional.

Some people call water fountains bubblers.

Also this convo is my first ever introduction to the word "footlet" and already it's annoying me. This sock needs to be renamed, if only for the sake of my sanity...

A forced footlet.

So sad.

Where I grew up we called it a bubbla.
I been outta there almost eleven years and I still drop my Rs

And unless they have changed the meaning of adding "let" to the end of a word on Saturn, footlet would still be a dumb and annoying word.

Cin 11-09-2013 10:55 AM

No socks but in honor of Sesame Street's birthday I dug these out of the closet to match my cookie monster boxers.

http://i.ebayimg.com/t/SEASAME-STREE...TP!~~60_35.JPG

Hoping for cookies.

candy_coated_bitch 11-09-2013 12:45 PM

*tosses Tick a cookie* Those are very cute, non-disturbing slippers!

Yesterday: black and white striped ankle socks (NOT footlets) with pink around the ankle and a Helloy Kitty face on top

Gemme 11-11-2013 07:30 AM

It's been much cooler lately so I've been wearing two pairs of socks at a time since almost all of my socks (procurred in TX and FL) are thin. For work, I put the simple, one tone socks on the outside and for play, I put them on the inside of the colored and/or patterned socks.

Yesterday, I had cornflower blue inside and white with black polka dots and orange, blue and pink flowers outside.

candy_coated_bitch 11-11-2013 12:28 PM

Sounds very fun, Gemme! You are a good sock example.

I am a terrible sock example. My sockage has been horrendous.

Today: so far bare feet
Yesterday: UNPLANNED mismatched socks because I'm not at home an couldn't fin matching ones. They were both ankle socks. One with maroon and pink writing and stars that say "Bow to your sensei!". The other pale yellow with blue heels and toes and sparkly turtles on top of the foot that say "slacker".
Day before: oatmeal colored wool socks (gag) because it's COLD!

willow 11-11-2013 03:12 PM

Big, pink and fluffy. Like a candy floss on each foot only without the sticky.

ahk 11-11-2013 04:39 PM

I've been just sporting athletic socks as of lately. -- but they aren't just plain.

Friday: black with orange stripes
Saturday: brown with green/turquoise houndstooth all over.
Sunday: white with green stripes
Today: dark blue with green polka dots.

Today, I was at Walmart with a client and saw so many socks not to be mentioned on this thread and I so wanted to take a picture and send it to CCB, but I ran out of time to do so. Maybe next time.

Only cause I love ya!

Cin 11-13-2013 01:02 PM

I can't find a picture of them, but they're plain white ankle socks with a kind of Tigger decal or picture sewn on the sides. Not good at descriptions, need pics.

I think you described them just fine! Go cuteness!

I've been wearing more wool socks because it's so fucking cold. Yet, conversely, now my feet are bare. I fail you, my sock friends. :sock:

Gemme 11-13-2013 07:48 PM

Dark blue thin socks under, thick beigy brown cream colored handmade socks outside.

candy_coated_bitch 11-14-2013 11:38 AM

Knee high toe socks (which I just typo-ed as "cocks" :|) that are purple with thin yellow and black stripes and a monkey face on the top of the foot that the toes go into.

Sweet Bliss 11-14-2013 11:50 AM

http://www.shopforfun.com/item/7342/...on-x-ray-socks

cuuuute socks... are you paying attention Santa?

I've been very very good. :gimmehug:

CherryBlonde 11-14-2013 11:58 AM

They are white ....with pink trim....and they say "Princess" on them :D

Gemme 11-14-2013 12:15 PM

Inside: pale purple, not quite lavender but close, that's got a bit of grey in it
Outside: more brown and cream socks that will keep my toes from falling off

willow 11-14-2013 01:52 PM

The pale grey ones :)

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...gL._SY450_.jpg

candy_coated_bitch 11-16-2013 05:38 PM

Yesterday: Mismatched striped ankle socks. One with bright stripes that has a bear with underwear on its head that says "BE WEIRD". The other with pastel glitter stripes that has a heart on top of the foot that says "Napoleon Dynamite" in it.

I think I might be experiencing some sock psychosis.

Right now: Bare feet. I am being indecisive about which slipper socks to put on.

Gemme 11-18-2013 05:59 AM

Inside: white socks with dark denim blue (the color, not the fabric) toes, heels and a stripe at the top of the sock and purple, pink, red and blue flowers.

Outside: blueish purple socks with beige kitty faces and pink and black swirls and doodles.

Bonus: slipper socks in fuzzy purple and golden yellow, close to LSU colors.

Daktari 11-18-2013 06:05 AM

Blue, cable-knit style, Pringle socks.

candy_coated_bitch 11-18-2013 10:07 AM

Um, what are Pringle socks? I am going to assume this has nothing to do with potato chips?

Yesterday: sheer black knee highs with silver sparkles!
Today: still not dressed.

Gemme 11-18-2013 06:46 PM

Single layer since it was warm today. Dark blue, thin and in need of darning in the big toes.

I'm thinking they are the practically bespoke goodies from across the pond. $$$

One can hope.

:chaplin:

ETA: I just checked, looks like we can get them through amazon here too. Not too pricey either, I like the tops.

Nothin' at all to do with those toobs of salty, spudliscious, snackage.

Pringle is/was a golfing 'brand'. They make all sorts of stuffs.

My Pringle socks, of which I have around 6 pairs, are wearing really well at 5yrs old...I can date when I bought them exactly.

Speaking of which... I have socks that are 10+yrs old and in very good condition, no holes etc. Does anyone else have socks they've worn forever?

Gemme 11-19-2013 12:35 PM

Nope. I'm a pacer and walk a LOT during work so I'm hard on them. The big toes go first and then the heels and it's all downhill from there.

cara 11-19-2013 12:44 PM

I think my inability to be able to wear fun, colorful, stripey socks lately is bringing my mood down. Tomorrow,I'm wearing the fun, Neapolitan ones with my favorite pair of brown and light pink Chucks.

So there.

Nope. I think the oldest pair are about 4yrs old, ish.

Today I'm wearing my favourite teddy bear socks. Soft towelling in various shades of brown and gold with little sticky out ears. Great fit, perfect length. They were a present and are wearing out now. I've looked and looked for more like them but can't find the perfect pair :sigh:

Well, I had no idea. But then again I do not play golf and am not sporty, nor do I wear sporty socks.

I DO have socks that are 10+ years old that I still wear. I guess Gemme and willow are harder on their socks than me. Or I just have a more difficult time parting with some old favorites. There are a few pairs that are probably a bit too worse for the wear and should be thrown away or something that normal people do.

Yeah, cara!!!! That's the spirit. :)

Yesterday: white with pink and purple leopard print and a pink kitty face on top of the end of the socks where to toes go in.
Today: oatmeal colored wool socks I stole from my bf because it's fucking COLD!!!!

ahk 11-19-2013 03:31 PM

Today: black socks w red chili pepppers.

WolfyOne 11-19-2013 03:35 PM

I had on my white socks for work earlier (Gemme in my defense, they at least had 2 grey stripes around the top)
Currently sockless with flip flops and sweat shorts on
It is a very nice day here today and I want to soak it up for a few more days until I really have to break out the socks, footies and whatever else I'll need to stay warm when the weather changes again.

Kelt 11-19-2013 05:19 PM

I'm not sure if this should go with underwear or socks, but it seems more sockish to me. As an always worn/carried item rarely seen by the public, am I the only one who still carries a handkerchief?

My fave is the good old fashioned very soft white cotton grandpa kind that folds to slightly larger than my wallet.

I also remember growing up when my mother wouldn't be caught dead without some flower trimmed and freshly pressed 'hanky' in her purse.

It's possible. It could be usage too.

You've been very naked lately.

I'm sure that totally makes up for at least 2 years of usage, right?

I carry a hanky (most days). My Pops always has too. I prefer the old dude type like him and you too. :cheesy:

Daktari 11-20-2013 12:02 PM

Purple, double layer, walking socks.

Gemme 11-20-2013 12:18 PM

Inside: argyle, various shades of blue plus white
Outside: warm, brown and creamy fuzzy goodness

DapperButch 11-20-2013 07:02 PM

Kelt, my friend....

I used to worry that your old ass would never get a date because you have your age listed on your profile. Now, with this post attached to your name forevermore, I am glad it is there! Geez!

My father always had a hankerchief in his pocket, as well. Just the kind you describe. I remember my mother ironing them.

I remember my mother having a hankerchief too, but it was more if she was dressed up or something. In her purse she typically had/has tissues.

candy_coated_bitch 11-20-2013 08:02 PM

They invented disposable tissues for a reason, people.

If you are referring to the age of refinement and decorum I accept your compliment. *laddie*
