My favorite holiday...Halloween!! Going out and doing fall photography. The crisp night air blowing through the bedroom window while cuddled up with my love (once there is a "love" to cuddle with lol)

Time to start putting a second pair of "work outdoors shoes" at the back door.

Is that a leaf or a landmine?
(landmine: pooch poop) ... can't be sure where it is anymore. :(

Cooler temperatures, summer is too darn hot in Texas.

Aside from cooler temperatures, leaves changing color is the best thing about fall for me. There is a scarcity of those kind of trees here in Albuquerque. I want to walk among the trees and hear leaves crackle under my feet. I'm a child of the Midwest and I really miss fall leaves the most.

There are also electric hookups at this state park, so I'm game. Is it worth driving 670 miles?

If sweating was actually reducing the size of my ass, I wouldn't mind so much. Sadly, it's the back of my head which starts sweating now and I can't afford to lose any grey matter.

And on a special day, it's pinon.

Fall foliage! That was one thing I did actually love about living in the northeast.
Ah it is the best place in the world to be for that, and I really am a fall foliage nut. Here where I am now in eastern New Mexico fall is not that much different than summer. It is in the 80's instead of the 90's pretty much every day. I can't complain though. Gorgeous sunsets all year round and only a short winter.

cooler mornings and evenings.... collecting seeds.... cleaning house, getting ready to hunker down and cook soups/stews....

You should head over to St. Helens on hwy 30, heading to Astoria. They are the Original Halloween town from the movie. Watch the movie (pay attention to the landmarks)then head up to see it for yourself in real life. It was one of the things we found out about that little town when we were looking to buy a home. From what we have heard the town square is truly a sight to see during the Halloween season.

This morning felt so much like a perfect autumn morning that I had to stop and hook myself up with a pumpkin spice latte on the way to work. Now I just want to go play outside. :)

The leaves are starting to change. Soon it will be cool enough for hot sandwiches and soups.... andI will to be able to light a real fire in the fire place!
Snuggled up with the dogs a blanket and a book or yarn on the sofa.

When fall comes around everythig feels cozy and homey.

The cooler weather is nice. The end of tourist season is nice. The end of hurricane season will be welcome. But, the best part of autumn is this:

Bundling up in layers
Pulling out my boots (not snow boots, femme boots)
Dinner in the crock pot
Snuggles to keep warm
Fresh crisp apples
Not too hot, not too cold... just right.
Halloween and all things scary and spooky.
The way the darkness gets me to relax after being hyper all summer long.

Cooler weather ... change of color on the leaves ... and my cats start to get fluffier with their winter coats.

Well I guess I like carving pumpkins? But that's about it. I do t want Summer to be over. I prefer warm weather and actually strongly dislike fall and winter. :curtain::curtain::curtain:

Walking through crunchy leaves.
Cooler weather. I'll finally be comfortable in sleeveless tops.

I like roasting the seeds! Though they're a bugger to clean first! :blink:

The end of Daylight Savings Time.;,,,

What's not to love! Cold crisp mornings with bright sunlight dancing on colored leaves of gold and brown and orange and red. Warm socks and boots with oversized sweaters and gloves. Long evening walks on crunchy leaves in the woods with the sun going down sooner and a cold fresh face. Warm crackling fires in the fireplace with cold white wine, candles and a hard wind blowing against the windows. OMGosh it goes on and on. Pumpkins, and pumpkin spice everything, hot cocoa and warm brownies right out of the oven. Potato soup and cornbread. Long country drives on tree lined roads that rain leaves on your car as you drive under them. Holy crap on a cracker... I love Autumn.

I love wearing cozy velvets and sleek leathers and tall boots and carrying my hot coffee around with me in a giant thermos and any excuse to eat too much pumpkin-flavored-anything and cuddle-weather and staying in and reading by firelight and and and!
