I mailed mine out this morning. Cost almost $50 but then again I sent more than 1 bag...enjoy!!
Those in US expected delivery Thursday. |
Yowza, PaPa.
I sent out more than one bag too, but I think the main difference is that I didn't do tracking for each package. Maybe I should have..... |

Hey... y'all got the tea exchange started! Saweet! :)
|
I got Gemme's- thank you! Not sure when it came since I hadn't been able to get to my PO box since Thurs last week...

Gemme, I received your tea today, thank you! :)
When I took the envelope out of the mailbox I noticed that the end of the envelope had been sliced open...like one would do with a sharp knife. The card and tea bags were intact and everything seems to be okay. I just found it a bit odd. I'm wondering if the postal service did that just to check the contents?! |

Not sure. Maybe since one wasn't in an envelope, the scent was cause for concern?

Dude! The lady said it wouldn't be a problem and even went in the back room to verify it with the manager. Oy. Did everyone at least receive all their bags? Every envelope had 3 bags in it. |
Gemme- I got all three bags. Are you on a "wanted" poster at your post office or anything?
|
Quote:
No, I promise! Although, I've lived in two states where people swore up and down that they knew me and they didn't. Doppelganger? Actually, there are NO posters at my local post office. They were just renovated and just got fresh paint up. No posters except the hazardous materials not to mail poster. Weird. On my next weekday day off, I'm going down there and finding out what's going on with that. I think I'll just mail out boxes for the next round to eliminate any issues with slicing and dicing. |

Now, I'm worried about the Canadian letters. |

Truly, I suspect it fell out. lol |
I recieved tea on Monday from Gemme, CCB, and mystery somebody I'm not sure who because they used their given or chosen name - I'm probably just more familliar with their screen name. Anyhow they all smell heavenly and I can't wait to give them a try. Gemme :), CCB :) and Mystery Person from DE :)
P.S. None of the cards I recieved were cut but the envelope on one did look a little bit worn on the bottom edge. The card itself, and the tea inside were in excellent condition though. |

|
PapaC's teas and card arrived today. The card is already up on my bulletin board. I'm looking forward to experimenting with the rock sugar, and sampling the teas.

This group has me in tea heaven! :) |
Tea from Papa arrived today - smells wonderful! :)
|
I got your""tea" today Georgia Ma'am and I am intrigued!! Thank you.
|
CCB- today I got an envelope delivered and in the envelope was a corner of your envelope torn off and stuffed inside the one sent to me- like the mail folks wanted me to know you tried and they were not able to fulfill the mission.
Georgia Ma'am- I love that drink! I used to get it in bulk at my Asian market and it has been out of my rotation for a while. I just picked it up on a cold rainy dreary morning and I can't think of a better thing to put in my thermos to sip on. Thank you! Papa- I'm so excited to dive into your package! The card is so sweet and the tea smells delicious. Thank you :) |
Okay, so I talked to the post office folks and this is what likely happened. I sent the letters through as letters and even though they were hand cancelled and marked non-machinable, it's highly likely that they did go through some machines at one point or another. Now, do I buy into that theory? Not entirely but it's the only one that comes close to making sense besides people cut them because they thought the loose packet of tea was weed or something.
Going forward, I'll send them as packages, even if they are in an envelope, which is the safest bet. The folks who paid $2.67 per piece, domestic, did that. Lesson learned! |
Yes, my envelope from Gemme was opened on both sides. I was shocked there was anything in it!
I sent mine out today, I'm hoping there will be some stagger to it so the joy is spread out :) This has been SO enjoyable and I hope we can do it more oftener :) Its like Christmas; a delight to get the mail at last! <3 |
Georgia Ma'am's envelope arrived today! :tea: I am enjoying our exchange. :)

Georgia Ma'am I received your tea today. Very interesting! :) Who knew you could draw?! Thank you, I already have an idea for this.
