Good Morning Jo Jo,

I am going to email hym today and see how hy is doing. I will definately let hym know that you asked about hym. I sent hym a sympathy card yesterday and it is going to take about five days to reach hym in Ireland. I have been worried about hym for awhile now and I am upset that she did pass away. Hy talked very highly of her and his uncle, who also passed away last year.

Have you tried the band aids for blisters? BandAid makes them and it is like having a second skin to protect them.

Have fun today!

Good Morning Jake,

It is a lot of fun. I found a picture of my great grandmother on my mom's side of the family yesterday. I called my mom and told her about it and I posted it on FaceBook and asked my mom who she looked like. After a few minutes of trying to figure out who in the family looked like her, she was like, it is your Aunt Linda. The picture is from 1920 when she was 16 years old. My dad who raised me from the time I was a 4 months old until his death when I was 28 years old, his family is hard to find, since most of them were born in the mountains of Alabama and Kentucky.

Have fun today!

smiles. I am glad you are enjoying the family time. That is wonderful in regards to your working on your ancestry. When My Dad was alive that was his passion.. to trace our roots ... it is amazing the things that you find out.

I am having a wonderful weekend.. so far... ..except the weather is being crazy.. it is hot and humid.. and now we have storms moving it. However, they are doing nothing to cool the temps down.. so the a/c will remain on. laughs.

I hope you have fun today as well.

Good Morning Zimmy,

That is just sweet. I love the old photographs. When My maternal grandparents passed My Mom inherited all of the photos they had. They are really nice to look at. When we see pictures of My Gram when she was young.. we can all see a resemblance to her.. from My Mom right down to Myself and My siblings. I am glad you are learning of your ancestry. I think it is an endeavor we should all take on at some point in our lives. I am sure it is hard to trace family if they lived mostly in a rural area. Keep at it though, I look forward to hearing what else you find.

Peaceful Sunday to you.. and be safe in what you do.

As Always,
Jake

I hope everyone has an enjoyable day.

Oh yes, and day number 3 with the a/c blasting. I think this is a sign of things to come for the Summer.

:bringcoffee: Good morning (barely) kitchen dwellers :)

I'm puttering around this morning....having my :coffee: and doing a little housework, laundry and such... still in pj's though :giggle:

Yes, Lips...we did find a house in Florida and have an offer in...hoping they accept it. I never managed to sell my house here, but I do have a renter for it that can't wait to move in and is flexible on their move-in date...so that will work. It's not my first choice, but at least it will cover its own costs and we can wait for a better market. I'm anxious to get down there...being apart is tough.

In the short term I'm a happy girl...I :flying: on Friday...so I'll get some :kissy: from my baby.

:lips: :stillheart: :love1:

Oh that's good that you found a house in Florida. That's what I'm going to do rent then move. How are the prices in Florida compared to the NY area cheaper?? I hope they accept your offer and you can move. I don't want to live in this area anymore too congested and to cold in the winter. I want an area that is warm all year round. Yes I'm sure you are anxious go get down there already. I just got out of my PJ's had to wash them, doing laundry and just relaxing. Need more coffee probably going to go to DD for a latte with whipped cream. Anyway, good luck to you you are a nice person and deserve the best!!

Good Afternoon Lipstix,

Where I live, my best friend and I pay $900 a month for a four bedroom, 2.5 bath house. It is gorgeous here. Every day that I go power walking with Elijah, her son, we see wild bunnies and plenty of other animals. The East Coast of Florida is nice and most of it is snowbird central, but very quiet.

Have fun today!

I have found my mom's oldest brother's family, including his three children and the majority of his wife's family, all the way back to the 1850's. Since I babysit all day until I start college, I am doing this to keep my mind going. I know that on my mom's side of the family, that I am of Irish and German descent and on my biological father's side, that I am of Dutch, French Canadian, English and Cherokee Indian descent. When my dad who raised me passed away, my three brothers and I got all of the family pics, including pictures of his paternal grandparents. My oldest brother lost them and my grandmother's Bible<my dad who raised me, his mother>, nearly was destroyed thanks to my middle brother and his girlfriend. I now have the Bible in a hatbox in my closet until I can find someone to restore it. As for my dad and grandfather's burial flags, I have no idea where those went to and I am in the process of locating them so I can hang them along with my grandfather's medals from WWII up.

Have fun today,

Zimmy

Florida is starting to sound even nicer to me, so that is the eastern part of Florida Zimmy?? I would have to rent my home here in NJ so I could move down there but I think I could get used to that. Do they have any kind of gay community of any sort??

lipstixgal 06-20-2010 05:50 PM

Well Kitchen dwellers have a big day tomorrow big test and mock interview with suit and everything so it a good night for me. Not to bed but to watch some mindless TV and relax see ya tomorrow when I can. Sleep tight!!

Good evening kitchen dwellers :)

:chef: My mouth is craving old fashioned fried chicken, mashed potatoes, chicken/cream gravy, steamed asparagus and a nice green salad....mmmmm....

Dessert has got to be hot fudge cake, with some vanilla bean ice cream for those that like the hot/cold thing as well. :)

Good Evening Jo,

That food sounds amazing. I am liking the old fashioned fried chicken thing. nods. I made homemade spaghetti sauce and had some thin pasta with it. It was tasty indeed.

Yeah.. for the flying out being almost here. This Friday, yes? We should all be near the ones we love.

As Always,
Jake

Good Evening Kitchen Patrons,

I hope everyone had a peaceful end to their weekend and that this week brings great productivity and happiness.

I spent the day "deep" cleaning My place. Mopping floors and the works. Laundry is done. Then I decided to get My paint supplies out and see if it would come back to Me. I had some pretty profound revelations in regards to this. It seems that it did not come back and easily as I thought it might. However, I am also not the same person I was the last time I picked up a brush. I will keep at it this week. If anything it is a great source of meditation...which is why I set about learning it in the first place.

This past week seems to be a week of realizations for Me. All of them good. smiles.

Here is some tea and coffee for those that want and/or need it.

:tea:

:bringcoffee:

lipstix.. thank you for the kind words in regards to My jewelry. I am always humbled when someone appreciates something I create. smiles. Well, I am not a hair cutter.. I was just mentioning that I am in need of one. I will leave that to the professionals. Goddess knows what I would look like if I took a set of clippers to My head. laughs.

Oh and it was humid here today. I still have the a/c running. I am scared of the next electric bill. mutters. I also like to sleep with the deck door open and My bedroom window. I am guessing that will not be happening this eve.

I hope you are over there studying.. but not too hard.. and are headed into a happy week.

Wow Zimmy.. .you are finding some great stuff. smiles. That is wonderful. Are you going through ancestry.com? I had thought you mentioned that in another post. That is who My Dad went through as well as ordering books and writing letters to different places. My maternal side is Italian. My maternal grandparents (both deceased) were from Sicily, Italy. My (biological) father's side is Scottish and Irish.

You are starting to give Me the bug of wanting to trace My tree now. laughs.

I hope you had a wonderful Sunday and that the start to your week is much the same.

As Always,
Jake

Good Evening Jake,

I say go for it!! I never thought about doing it until I lost my job in February and now that I am doing nothing, except getting everything ready to start college, I am. I am using Ancestry.com and BeenVerified.com to help me find my relatives that I am not sure of their birthday's. The BeenVerified.com site is how I found my brother on my biological dad's side of the family. If you are into Irish jewelry, ChrisButch sent me a link to a site over in Galway, Ireland. We exchanged Christmas presents last year and hy sent me a Gold and Emerald Claddagh necklace and I sent hym a bunch of books that pertain to hys major in college.

Hope you are having a good night!

Zimmy

I live on the East Coast of Florida. I am about 64 miles from Jacksonville and I was born in Daytona Beach. If you are looking for the Gay community here, Orlando is the closest city and they hold their Pride events in October. I am making plans with my ex roommate and a bunch of his friends to attend.

Good luck on your test tomorrow and good night,
