Hearing all is well at the Center for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife on Sanibel Island after Irma. Their buildings were built to withstand hurricanes and flooding. They released any wildlife they could prior to the storm. Staff took critically ill patients home with them. The critters they couldnt take were all well and accounted for this am. Haven't had enough coffee yet to check how the rest of Florida is doing. |
AC was out (again) at work today ... they got it fixed and it's kickin' in! Phew! :koolaid:

A very persuasive friend who's been trying to keep my spirits up while I get over this virus...ugh...he is certainly doing a lovely job of it...
Ooh yeah, and the miniature roses I've been working with... watching them stretch to catch some sunshine makes me smile as well... awww |

Within the last ten minutes I found my lost-for-months photo album which contains THAT photo of me in my little red dress when I was in my 30's!

I went outside to water the plants and animals and saw a beautiful 4 foot coachwhip snake next to the house. Instead of running for a camera I just hung out with it and enjoyed the moment.

Remembering that I should look in the cab of the RV before I called the bank to request a new debit card. And it was there!

Life....and how it evolves......

The first smile was when I woke up. Jennifer Avery (chubby pocket pittie) had her face close to mine and was watching me. I opened my eyes to her adorable pittie grin. Then I started saying her newest favorite "baby-talk" line to her ... which is "she is so pretty" ... I said it over and over for a few minutes. Jennifer never tires of hearing it and develops a serious case of wiggle-butt. This chubby little girl means so much to me! They all do!!!

Monte settling down next to my feet to nap, and as my leg began to twitch, placing his paw over the jumpy spot before drifting off to sleep. He's my watch cat, which is one of the many things that makes him so Magnificent. :)

Fri Sept 29th is National Coffee Day
How to score free coffee on National Coffee Day :coffee:
As far as we're concerned every day should be a day to celebrate coffee, but if you need an excuse for an extra cup or two of joe — besides the mounting evidence that coffee is good for you — you'll have one this Friday, Sept. 29 because it's National Coffee Day. Check our list of freebies at Dunkin' Donuts, Krispy Kreme, Peet's and more. Plus, keep an eye on your favorite shops' social media feeds for local #NationalCoffeeDay deals. Krispy Kreme: Krispy Kreme is extending National Coffee Day through the weekend, offering customers one free cup of coffee (any size hot brew or a small iced premium blend) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Dunkin' Donuts: This year for National Coffee Day, Dunkin' Donuts is giving away a free medium hot coffee to anyone who buys a medium, large or extra large cup of hot coffee. So you can treat a friend or get extra jacked yourself. Whole Foods: On National Coffee Day, Allegro Coffee Company will donate $1 from each cup of batch brew coffee purchased from Whole Foods Market coffee bars to the Whole Planet Foundation (up to $40,000), which funds poverty poverty alleviation projects in places around the world where Whole Foods Market sources products. Peet's Coffee: Peet's has a couple of National Coffee Day promotions going on, including 25 percent off all beans and a free drip coffee or tea with bean purchase at participating Peet's coffee bars, as well as 25 percent off all regular, non-subscription, bean purchases made at Peets.com using the promo code "COFFEEDAY17." Intelligentsia: On National Coffee Day, Intelligentsia is offering $3 off all 12 ounce bags of whole bean coffee at retail location and online (the promotion is an expansion of their regular Friday Roasters Special). As part of Intelligentsia's participation in the Night of 1,000 Pours charity fundraiser, customers will be given the option donate that $3 dollars rather than keeping it. Intelligentsia will match every $3 donation and send all proceeds to hurricane relief in Texas and Florida. Caribou Coffee: Caribou is also helping its customers help others on National Coffee Day by donating 10 percent of Amy's Blend Coffee, merchandise and all Caribou Coffee Signature Blend and Single Origin purchases to CancerCare. McDonald's: You don't have to wait until National Coffee Day for this one — McDonald's is currently running a limited time promotion in which customers can purchase any small McCafé specialty beverage for just $2. https://www.today.com/food/national-...m_npd_td_fb_ma |

I was thinking about my old kitty that passed last year. She loved to retrieve things and bring them to me. I remember once I saw her try to drag a blanket over to me.
I was not present for the funniest story. I went to Italy and had a friend take care of her for three weeks. When I picked her up my friend asked me about the retrieving behavior and I told her that it was normal for the kitty. My friend told me that she was shocked when my kitty ran down the hall with my friend's bra in her mouth and between all her legs. Haha! Great visual. :cowboy: |
