for my housemate...
i burn incense for my housemate. she has been up 24 hrs, much of which was spend trying to save Stroll, her mare, and then saving the orphan foal. she took him to get a blood transfusion. may her strength and hope not give out; may she not despair; may she find some surcease from her troubles!

Today I light candles for the survivors of the tornadoes that whipped through the Southeast, and for the ones that did not survive. I light candles for their families and loved ones who try to make sense of their losses. |

Today I light my candles for my dear friend who is going into surgery tomorrow. Shes fighting cancer... May the Goddess see her safely through this newest battle.

My beautiful and most beloved best friend Carrie died this weekend. I am still in such shock and really unsure of what to do. I haven't experienced a lot of death and this is painful beyond measure. I light my candle today for her and send her peace, something I'm not so sure she ever had while she lived. I will miss her for the rest of my entire life.

There are almost 2 million acres involved in wildfires here in Texas....mostly in West Texas and Northwest Texas (just to the west of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area). For my dear friend Milana. For dear dear Rozella who arrived from northern California for her bi-weekly visit with Milana. "Why are you here?"Milana aked. The onslaught of chemo, radiation and the lung cancer, a feeding tube since june 15, and a woman who is so very tired of the fight. :bunchflowers:

Her husband Cres cried at the restaurant as we talked saying he knew it would come to this. I don't think Milana will ever go home again, I said. Rozella still holding on. Decisions need to be made before too long. For Oscar and Elizabeth, her two cats who have been waiting for Milana to come home since last June. Bless Suzanne who visits and cares for them twice day. They need to go to a foster home, and wait. Rozella, now seeing her baby sister fading to this horrid disease each time she visits the nursing center. For Milana, now refusing medicine and treatment, more lost and confused and angry each passing moment. The esophagus tumor is shrinking, the trach tube is better, but the body and mind are failing. The call at 6 AM from Rozella in tears, asking which friends would visit Milana when she and Cres go home on Monday. She said she wanted Milana to vist her at Christmas, and we whispered a prayer for this suffering. |
