No really, c'mere!

Here's hoping everyone can avoid the SXSW craziness that is the traffic. I'm going into work early. I've done some clever juggling of days off and will be off Sat-Mon next weekend.

This means I can actually show up at Pup and Oiler's on time (you know how I hate to be "fashionably" late.) And I can spend some quality time with my honey. W00t.

OH! KC will be home Tuesday. I'm so happy! :)

Sweet_Amor_Taino 03-12-2011 08:48 AM

Hey bro are you coming here to our great City? Hope to meet you if you are . My honey will be here next Thursday. SXSW is a big big music festival and people from around the US come to listen to music all types of music and you could purchase a ticket to see all bands or just tickets to see the bands you like But it will lots of fun and very crowded.

Annual music, film, and interactive conference and festival held in Austin. People come from all over the world. Lot's of famous people running around Austin. It gets crowded on the roads so I try to avoid it. I used to go to stuff though. They have free shows pretty much everywhere with some pretty big names. I used to live right downtown so I could hear some of the music it was nice.

Yeah it is cool if it's a band or singer you like especially if it's a free show. lol
I don't like crowds either so I'm happy to be wayyyy up north now.

Diva 03-13-2011 10:29 AM

I enjoy living in East Central 10 minutes from downtown but out enough for quiet in a gated community with a pool grills and a gym.

My community is of mix race and cultures and Also assessable to three bus lines.

Yeah, but if you live in Austin you can see the same bands next week at the same venue for basically nothing.

This is true.

Arwen 03-13-2011 12:08 PM

Or you can live in Austin for nearly 2.5 years and STILL have not heard even one live music event.

Austin is semi-responsible for Amy Winehouse.

On a brighter note, Johnny Cash played one year. So did the White Stripes. Many unknowns play @ SXSW and get signed.

True story!

South by Southwest USED to be the place where good local artists might get signed. It USED to be a showcase for unknown bands, usually from Texas. But then, well-known bands and artists started playing it. So unknown bands were pushed to the smaller venues and lost their audience and the point of the festival. Also, the influx of known artists has driven up the cost of wristbands to the point of being completely out of reach for the average person.

But it is good for tourism.

Well, if we're going to the Dollar Store for more DW glass(es), we might as well stop in for a yummy (margarita) breakfast at Amaya's. It's a rough life ;)

Rough.....................

Arwen 03-14-2011 10:58 AM

Shari and Diva, we know it's rough for the two biggest DW's to have to do that but thank you for taking one for the team. :blueheels:

For the team :)

We successfully avoided any SXSW traffic this weekend. It was easy-we stayed home and Spring cleaned:blink:
I need a day off from my day off. Have a great week, fellow Texans! :)

You're such an inspiration, Sissy! :heartbeat:
So I'll take two boxes for the team, TOO! :eyebat:

Gemme 03-14-2011 04:44 PM

I spent roughly 6 hours crafting today and yesterday. Most of that was for shoddy work but the last stuff I did has turned out pretty well. Good enough for Ebon to ask me to paint something to put on our walls, which are still nekkid.

I have this fear that we won't hang it right and those big ole prints and frames will come crashing down.

I almost got Ebon to the grocery store today. Almost.

One day? One day I will grow up to be just like you.

Gemme 03-15-2011 09:05 AM

I finally got Ebon to HEB, but only by way of the OilyPup's house.

I now haz cake and that's all that matters.

Arwen 03-15-2011 09:09 AM

KC arrives today.
I think.
I haven't heard from him.
He doesn't know my address.
Or the gate code.
I'll be at work until 10:15 (at least).
If a tall, cute gayboy lands on your doorstep, please take care of him for me until I get back.
