Watchfire One of the most touching events that happens in this area each year....when the veterans light a huge bonfire at the fairgrounds. A chance for veterans to gather....for people to dispose of old flags with respect and honor in the flames...and to remember all those who have sacrificed so much for us. Traditionally, the watchfire was lit to help soldiers who had become separated from their unit to find their way back. Makes me cry every year. :wwii-veterans: |
