Good Morning Kelt,
Your first part of the post just made me laugh...No, they aren't going to wire my mouth shut, but I have heard for the first week after they *apply* them, you cannot eat nothing solid. I am going to slowly add solid food but for the first two weeks, I will more than likely be eating soft foods. From what I have heard from my coworkers, it can take up to a year or longer. I am shooting for a year and hoping that it doesn't take two years, like it did for one of my coworkers. This isn't my idea and I am wishing that I didn't have to get them; but thanks to genetics, I have to...My dentist was telling me, that since I don't smoke, drink soda or anything else, that my teeth are very healthy and it shouldn't take long for them to heal once this happens...I have a very good pain tolerance and I will be taking Aleve to help with the soreness... My roommate is excited about me not drinking coffee anymore, he will have the whole bag of coffee to himself... Have a good day, Zimmeh Quote:

I have a few friends that have braces, and they didn't have ANY problems at all eating solid foods. I guess each person is different... but we will hope you are one of the lucky ones that doesn't have to suffer with liquid/soft food diet! |
Thank you for the information and I am hoping this to!
How are you doing today? Zimmeh Quote:

All is well here with me.... just getting back in the full swing of tracking food and getting in some exercise. My body is still feeling a lil' sluggish right now, but it's because I ran out of multivitamins a week or so ago. But, it's on my shopping list for the day!
|
Glad to hear that you are doing good! I say, we should have some kind of exercise time in LR next year..This way, we all can hit the gym at once and be happy...If not, I will find some way of passing along the jokes so we all can laugh until our sides hurt..Maybe another birthday cake?

I gained a pound! Its my TOM, so that could be why, but I also have not been on track. UGH, why can't I just do this again like I used to... I was losing 2-3 lbs a week without fail for months.... grrr. I need to look deep inside and figure out what the dillyo is.
This week I am going to track everything... and go to the gym at least 3x this week. I also want to go back to how I used to be.. only eating natural foods... nothing processed. We will see how that goes. ((hugs to all)) Starry |
Maybe we can walk to the restaurant, if it close enough, instead of taking the trolley?
Sleep is something that we both will be need..I still cannot believe that I only slept for less than 15 hours the whole weekend.. Zimmeh Quote:

Doing exactly what you just outlined should do the trick! :dance2: |

Good luck honey and I bet you see you a loss next week! |
I can track my TOM by the changes in my weight that week, I can be either 1 to 1.5 lb weight gain or plateau... :readfineprint:
I did not have a sucessful eating weekend, I drank...too much. And I ate some junk food. AND I did not go to the gym last night. I had company and cooked dinner for said company. However, I made them individual chicken pot pies and a vegan dish with Polenta (not much polenta cause that stuff is high points) for me. And I was laughing to myself as I was making my salad and put a wee bit of walnuts on it...Hey wait this is a treat for Kelt!!! <dorky grin here> But... today is a new day. I am going to weight lifting class and then gay yoga. I missed doing my interval training last night, but the pleasure of my friend's company was worth it. Starryeyes it really is just one day at a time. It really is each moment by moment. I can tell you not to beat yourself up, but I can't stop you. I can tell you that you that each of us here have been there, and fought through it, and will probably face tough days again. And each one of us here, cheers you on. :2cents: |
I totally agree with you!

i've decided *finally* to give the 100 pushup challenge a try, it's a 6 week program - and feel pretty ready! i also want to give the 200 situp challenge a go as well..
Has anyone tried these and been successful? Just curious.. i seen them posted on another thread some time ago, and wanted to try then but wasn't in the right headspace to commit just yet, with all my food issues going on.. comments? advice? anything appreciated! ♥ http://hundredpushups.com/index.html http://www.twohundredsitups.com/index.html |
Im eating lunch cause I have to,but today has been a hard one,my fur kid Diva had a epaliptic sesure this morning..a bad one,we went to the vet and got meds but once we got home she went into cluster sesures.Shs is now back at the vets being treated,my other fur kid Rowdy is missing her bad..me to.Before I left the vets he ask if she could have gotten into any poison,I havent put anything out and wouldnt put anything out that would hurt my pups. That statement left me wondering cause the security system went off at 5am starting at the back patio all the way to the carport the only thing we found was the water hose was running water down the drive.Rowdy would love to go out an play but not till the yard is fully checked...I doubt I will find anything but im being careful.

Good morning & and happy Thursday healthy peeps!
Well, I learned a hard lesson yesterday. My boss, while trying to nice, brought me back lunch. I opened it up... chicken fried steak & mashed potatos all smothered in cream gravy. Oh my... how could I let this southern comfort food go to waste?! I should have given it to someone else, but instead decided to eat it. WRONG idea. Because I had pretty much cut out fried foods from my diet, by the time my food digested I was already sick at my stomach. My body hated me for eating that food... and my 3:00pm I threw my guts up. I left work early and went home to lay down. My stomach in PAIN because of food that I ate. Needless to say, my body rejected the fried food that I had been living off of for so many years... and gave me a big reality check that it doesn't want it anymore! This morning for breakfast, I had lowfat vanilla yogurt with strawberry slices & granola and coffee. Lunch/dinner will be Subway since I have to work the 2nd job tonight. For snacks, I have gala apples, string cheese & 100 calorie almond packs. Anyway, I hope that everyone is doing well and staying strong & moving forward on their journeys! |
Well that stomach bug threw me off kilter and I had to eat whatever I could get to cooperate which included lots of crackers and toast. Back on track now but damn that was quite a setback.
I have to admit I don't want to. |
Hope you are feeling better today! Since everyone at work has been getting sick in the employee cafeteria, I have been ordering from one of the restaurants. I notice that when I eat the French fries, I have heartburn within a half an hour. Hugs to you and get to feeling better!

I hope you have a better day. :cheerleader: I am going to try to stay out of trouble today :cracked:. |
I went for a checkup last week. I hate to say it but I hadn’t been to the doctor in over 2 years. What really makes that bad is that he was prescribing me meds for hypertension and when I ran out I just didn’t take anything for my high blood pressure. I did my weigh in, had my things listened to and left 4 vials of blood. I also left withOUT a script for hypertension. Yep, that right…no BP meds. I dropped 32 lbs since my last visit which I’m guessing had something to do with the lower BP. I’m still on the borderline of high but he didn’t want to prescribe anything just yet. So I’ll be going back in a month to be rechecked. Oh and btw, my blood work came back with everything in the normal range. Time to get on the treadmill. This has been a great incentive.

Doesn't that feel wonderful? I love knowing that I have beat heart disease and diabetes because of my weight loss...
Congratulations!!! Zimmeh Quote:

I started back juicing again and just in a few days its amazing how much better I feel. I'm doing mostly organic romaine, celery, cilantro, green apple and organic spinach.
I bought a bunch of packs of frozen organic mixed veggies. I make rice in my rice pot ahead, stir fry the veggies with some nice live cultured soy (just a dabble) I feel so much better when I eat fruits and veggies. |

While the losing some favored foods part sucks, it speaks volumes about how much we can teach ourselves about ourselves. While the Doctors, and books, and documentaries, will all tell us to do things like "you should cut back on fried foods"; eliminating an item for a time and then reintroducing it will give us a visceral lesson not soon forgotten. The gut trumps the intellect in a pretty big way. |
Back to life, back to reality...
I confess I've fallen off track the past few weeks in the rush and mayhem of big events, a bit of vacation time and power outages. I have not tracked anything I've eaten or any of my exercise. And more importantly (for me) I've become really lazy about my food planning and prep - which means I've been eating irregularly and with a fuckit-i'm-starving-attitude. I know that when I am thoughtful and organized I eat more consistently and make much much better choices. And I know that if I don't get myself back on track now, I will use the flurry of the holidays as an excuse to be less vigilant. So for the next three weeks these are my goals: *Use WW online to track what I am eating on a daily basis. *Be more mindful in my grocery shopping so that I have everything I need to prepare my breakfast and lunches for the next day. *Plan a few dinners for the week to come and make it easy for myself to execute them. (ie. make a big salad that can stretch a few days, grill up a pack of chicken breasts, make soup, etc.) *Re-run week 8 of the C25k to get myself back on track. And get through week 9 (and the end of the program). *Make it to 2 to 3 pilates, stability ball or core strengthening classes a week. *Take my 32oz water bottle to work with me every day (as religiously as I take my thermos full of coffee) |

my personal trainer is a Nutritionist and if you are interested in his ideas and his theories i'd be happy to give you his page... he is on Facebook.
what i do are the following: food shopping on a full stomach going out to eat on a full stomach ~ meaning eating an hour before, so it saves you about 300 calories and a little cash cut down on carbs up the cardiovascular activities eat more veggies at dinner instead of carbs ~ like i cut out pasta, rice; now i have broccoli, spinach, etc... eat until you are content ~ Not Full i went from 133 lbs. down to 116 lbs. in a matter of a few months... |
Hey everyone,
Man oh man, seems like its been forever since I've been here but I need to be here right now. There has been alot going on the last month, more in the last week than I care to remember, and I've been eating more than I should. I'm hoping to get back to where I was before this month gave Me some real headaches (and a real scare too) but now I hope that things will go back to normal *crossing fingers* |

Good Morning all.. ♥ So glad to feel motivated again, the last few weeks i've been a lil mopey with my exercising, and didn't do it quite enough.. Also, picked up on a bit of a bad habit, i found orange juice which is really good for me, it's natural, but when i buy it, i drink far too much each day uncontrollably so had to put a stop to that.. i only managed a 1 lb loss (but thankful for no gain) since my last weigh in.. So that brings me at 59 lbs lost, i soooo wanted to be in the 60's this time around.. Finally managed to get motivated, with exercise and eating better, STOPPED buying the dang orange juice since i've no control .. Wednesday, i went for a 3 1/2 hour long hike with a friend of mine, which felt great! Used muscles i didn't know existed i think, ouch! lol..i figured out a good work out plan for me, even while i work crazy hours, so far it's working out great.. Breakfast today, i had a yogurt, 1/2 cup multigrain cheerios with skim milk, 1/2 banana sliced in and a boiled egg.. Yum!! having some grapes for snack now, lunch i think will be tuna salad on crackers with some sliced cucumber, tomatoes & maybe carrot sticks! Have a fantastic day xoxo! |
If you can make it to the Reunion, I will gladly bring you some of their bagels or we will find one in Little Rock!

Hi everyone :)
Saturday morning weigh in, and I'm down 2 lbs. I'm baking chocolate chip cookies for Rooster today, so my willpower will get a bit of a test...but so far, so good. :rrose: I'm still not hitting the exercise like I should...it's harder for me to work out than to eat right. Being really good about sticking to the food plan more than 95% of the time...so that's the main thing. Have a great day! |
I'm struggling to make it to the gym today after 2 days off. I have back pain that won't seem to stop. Alright, I'm done whining.
Good tidings. |
So, seems Mtn and i are Reunion Bound in September.. If that isn't motivation to get myself going, i don't know what is.. heh. So, i worked the morning shift, came home and then went for a 2 hour walk - beautiful sunshiney day out there, and really burned it.. For breakfast - 1/2 cup cornflakes with 1/2 cup skim milk 1 yogurt 1 boiled egg 1 cup of red grapes i had an orange for snack this morning just before my walk. For lunch - Tuna salad on 7 whole wheat crackers 2 clementines (just bought a box, LOVE these things lol) and so far, water, water, water! i havent been good about drinking my water the last couple of days, so really pushing myself again today, because water really helps curb appetite, great for complexion and i just feel great when i drink water, period! Still at 59 lbs lost, i weigh in again at the end of this week - but this journey is to feel healthy , be happy & build confidence & self esteem.. i feel fantastic and that's what counts.. Cant wait to meet those of you Reunion Bound as well.. This is pretty frigging exciting, just sayin.. |

Ok time to start again, I found a great app on my phone that will log in what I have everyday, and I just have to be honest. I just have a few more pounds to go but I don't want to give up, which is what I did after that stomach bug got me.
|
You can do it!!!
