Morning all ♥
It's a beautiful day out there, so going for a brisk walk shortly..
Yesterday,i ended up walking more than 2 hours, plus my walk to and from work (twice, because i worked a split shift) - so definitely upp'ing the exercise.

Today, i am starting the 100 pushup challenge, and going to start on some toning exercises as well ..

For breakfast -
1/2 cup multigrain cheerios
1 cup of skim milk (half for cereal & drank the rest, lol)
1 medium orange
1 boiled egg, medium

snack - 1/2 cup grapes & 1 clementine

Not sure what's for lunch just yet, but taking some salmon out for tonight's dinner, with a very little bit of basmati rice and asparagus, & a salad ,YUM!

It feels great to be back in the game, and already seeing & feeling results - Next goal is 10 more lbs!

ruffryder 11-08-2011 10:01 AM

hey errr buddy!! I hope everyone is having a great week! I have to get out today and walk. It should be a great walk downtown and sight seeing. Look forward to getting out and checking out the area I am in now.

I also decided to pull out my scale and weigh myself today. I had lost 10 lbs when I started to diet and I haven't checked it now for 2 months since moving around and trying to get situated. Not so sure I kept the lbs off but we will see and I think by looking anyway it will give me motivation.

have a wonderful day peeps.

Good morning & happy Tuesday y'all :) It's almost that time of year again where we all start juggling like crazy & the world moves nonstop. So, what are you gonna do to stay motivated to keep on track in the midst of all the holiday events?

Well for me, since I'm doing the cooking this Thanksgiving, I'm looking into healthier alternatives to traditional holiday comfort foods. I'm going back through some receipes that y'all have posted, and combing through the WW receipes & some diabetic friendly ones (since both of my parents are now pre-diabetic).

I know a lot of people are starting to list something every single day that they are thankful for in their lives. I heard this song.... and decided I was gonna list ONE thing everyday that made me feel proud of myself.

I'm proud that yesterday, I made smarter choices & was able to stay within my points range. I threw away all the crap snack foods in the cabinets at work & loaded the fridge with fruit & yogurt.

As for meals planned for the day...

Breakfast:
Special K with berries cereal with 2% low fat milk
a banana
a small sugar free iced vanilla coffee

Lunch:
chicken salad with apples & pecans on a wheat tortilla

Dinner:
ground turkey taco salads with no shell (lettuce, tomato, avacado, a sprinkle of WW cheese, fat free sour cream & salsa), a handful of Baked Tostitos Scoops on the side.

Snacks:
WW string cheese
100 calorie almond pack

Plans are to hit the gym tonight... even if I have to go alone. Game on!

Have a great day, y'all!

Salad In a Jar

I'm always looking for new and clever ways to make my meals to-go.

I thought this was great, especially because portable salads can be a hassle because there are always some ingredients that get mushy or go off too quickly.

http://lifehacker.com/5857420/make-s...fresh-for-days

And, its a great "green" container solution too.

Holliday cooking

Being its probly going to be just me and my son,im buying a couple of turkeys then haveing them cut in half, cooking one half and freezing the rest for another time.Im planing on bakeing ONE pie insted of the three I usely bake and am useing a diabetic resipe for it.im geting a small container of dressing from the local delli so I dont have to make a ton of it..cant make just a little..then some string bean casarole and rolls...and cranberry sause.I donated $25.00 to the Philadelphia center to help out with expenses for them..not much but every little bit counts.

Good Morning Everyone,

I have done so much walking the last few days, that I am power walked out...I went and had dinner with Jo on Tuesday night and then met up with Ruff to have coffee lastnight...

I have been having either a fried egg in Pam cooking spray, one slice of toast and coffee or a bowl of Golden Grahams cereal with coffee for breakfast.

Lunch, has been a grilled pepper jack cheese sandwich with turkey on oatmeal bread and water.

Dinner, has been a hamburger-sans the bun- with carrots or chicken with veggies..

Snacks, have been M&M's-fun size- and bananas...

Have a great day,

Zimmeh

good morning everyone!

Super rainy day today, so i will be treadmilling it and using the elliptical, though i don't mind walking in the rain, i'm due for new sneakers and i'll end up with wet feet i think! lol..

Sitting here eating breakfast right now:
pomegranate & blueberry yogurt
half of an apple, with 1/2 cup fresh pineapple
4 lil melba toast crackers, with some peanut butter
240 calories, and well balanced (got my protein, starch & fruit) yay!

i haven't had a weigh in since last one, but hoping for results, last weigh in was 59 lbs lost, soooo want to be able to say 60 something lbs lost after my plateau.. i've been hanging on to 58 & 59 lbs lost for a few weeks now..Although it wasn't so much a plateau, i just haven't been as committed to working out as i should be, i know this.. And so, i stepped it up this week and finally am feeling some results in how loose my clothes are feeling compared to usual...

So , crossing fingers, when i finally DO weigh in (which will probably be next week) that i've some awesome results to report. i do keep reminding myself daily that this isn't about the weight loss for me, as much as it is about feeling healthy, feeling happy in my own skin & of course gaining control on my eating disorder and addiction to food & sugars..

So on THAT note, i feel fabulous & healthier than ever.. AND, as far as weight loss goes, i am smaller now than i have been in over 15 years, actually 18.. my son is 18 years old and i didn't lose that weight at all either.. So that alone makes me feel so proud of myself.

PS - i LOVE the idea of recipes for healthier cooking over the holidays! We should definitely get to sharing, because not only is your Thanksgiving coming up, but Christmas (oy) is right around the corner too! And i'm such a new recipe lover..

Dear Weightloss Peeps, It has been many days since my last confession...

I had chocolate cake for breakfast!!!!!!!!!! :|

I have not checked in for a while. Diet has been off and on but I need to settle down! I have really been finding it hard to jump right back in. Hence, chocolate cake for breakfast??? Chihuahuas!!!!!!!!! I have ben eating healthy lunches and breakfasts, it is dinner time that is killing me. I get extra hungry and that is the worst time to do it!!! Since I feel so off track, I do start feeling guilty.

Anyhow, I could definitely use the love and support of my weightloss peeps. I am going to be grumpy today because now that I finished this piece of chocolate cake, I know it is time to get back!!!

Thank you for listening. You all are always such a support!

LETS DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!

You can nickname me anything you want sista!

I read a quote somewhere, and I'm sure I'm gonna get it wrong, but it says something like....

"It doesn't matter how many times we fall, what counts is how many times we get back up."

Luckily, we have a chance to start fresh every single day... hell every single meal. Just know that you are NEVER alone on this journey! We've all got your back!

I have a gift for you and I will be mailing it soon..It is an early Christmas present..

Found this recipe today on SparkPeople website (which i just rejoined today) which i soo wanna try, i work all weekend so thinking on Monday its on my "to do" list.. Yummy!! So thought i would share!

i am a big fan of slow-cooker recipes =)

Slow-Cooker Salsa Chicken
485 Minutes to Prepare and Cook

Ingredients:
2 pounds (32 ounces) chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
1 cup salsa, homemade or purchased
1 cup petite diced canned tomatoes (choose low-sodium)
2 tablespoons Taco Seasoning
1 cup onions, diced fine
1/2 cup celery diced fine
1/2 cup carrots, shredded
3 tablespoons sour cream, reduced fat

Directions:
Salsa Chicken is easy to make; just put all the ingredients in a slow cooker and let the machine do the work. There are infinite variations, and your family is guaranteed to like each one.
6-8 hours to prepare; 15 minutes of active cooking time
Makes 8 one-cup servings of chicken.

Place the chicken in a slow cooker. Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the meat then layer the vegetables and salsa on top. Pour a half cup water over the mixture, set on low and cook for 6-8 hours. The meat is cooked when it shreds or reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. When ready to serve, break up the chicken with two forks then stir in the sour cream.
Makes eight 1 cup servings.

Number of Servings: 8

Servings Per Recipe: 8
Calories: 164.9 (per serving)

Total Fat: 2.5g
Cholesterol: 67.9 mg
Sodium: 253.3 mg
Total Carbs: 7.3 g
Dietary Fiber: 2.1 g
Protein: 27.6 g

i, personally, would lower the amount of taco seasoning to cut back on the sodium most likely..i think the salsa would be lots of flavor alone..But regardless, sounds yummy to me *rubs tummy*

Zimmeh 11-11-2011 10:59 AM

Good morning!!! Time for phase 2 of the great weight loss!! LoL.
Had a great leg workout this morning, followed by cardio. Back on the supplements. I am ready for the day!!! Y'all have a great weekend!!

Zimmeh 11-12-2011 09:57 AM

Yesterday, my coworker and I decided to see how long it would take for us to walk down six flights of stairs in the parking garage. We ended up literally running down the stairs and made it to the bottom in four minutes. We decided to see how long it would take to go from the parking garage to the time clock. We made it to the time clock in three minutes and made it up to our department in less than two minutes...It felt good to get my exercise in early.

I am going to start doing this everyday before work...:rubberducky:

Good Morning Everyone,

Yesterday was Pride for us here in Orlando and I had a blast! Me, Ruff, and a few people from the Florida thread met up at Lake Eola and decided to have lunch before the festivities began. I had a half of a chicken ranch wrap, minus the ranch dressing, from Hamburger Mary's and shared my sweet potato fries with everyone. We walked so much, that I was exhausted by 7:30p when Ruff and I stopped at a Starbucks for coffee. I was bad in the sense, that I didn't eat dinner until 9:30p lastnight, but I wasn't hungry after lunch.

This morning, I had one fried egg, one slice of toast and tea instead of coffee.

Lunch is still open and so is dinner..

Have fun today!

Zimmeh

dixie 11-14-2011 09:13 AM

Whew. Almost an hour and a half between the elliptical and the treadmill. Very sweaty girl here who forgot to bring her gym bag to use the gym showers. Yup, sweaty but feeling like a million bucks! :D

*Anya* 11-14-2011 09:27 AM

Good morning all!

I have not posted for a while. I have been slacking off lately. I have not fallen off the wagon, no sweets, but I have not been counting calories or fat grams, either.

I am fully motivated today to stop screwing around and get with it again.

Oatmeal, coffee for breakfast; skinless chicken breast, salad ready for lunch.

Visiting my daughter and grandkids over Thanksgiving. They do not eat like I do, so that will be a challenge. Planning on buying/making some meals my way, i.e. no chicken fingers for me! Her kids love those things. At least they are in sports and healthy outdoor activities.

Have a great day everyone!

starryeyes 11-14-2011 11:46 AM

I lost 5 lbs last week... trying for more this week. I am going to keep tracking and running/lifting weights. I am doing C210k right now, and its going OK. I am doing 5 minute intervals today, 5x, and walking 1 minute in between. It seems easy, and I want to just go for a 25 minute run, but I am going to work the program so I don't get ahead of myself.

Have a good week all! We can do this!!

My motto that helps me stay focused is, "The only thing you gain from giving up, is weight". Ain't that the truth!

Smiles and Hugs
Starry

starryeyes 11-14-2011 02:33 PM

I decided to just run, and I ran 2.5 miles. I feeling good! :-D I wish I could have gone longer, but I did not stretch good enough and my hip was starting to cramp. As soon as that happened, I lost my focus.. grrr!

Rockinonahigh 11-14-2011 04:38 PM

Looks like u all have been doing great in the weight loss program in one way or the other..wtg folks.Lately I have been on the program more than off,off by just a little but still within my food plan.Im not shure if its a holliday thing or what but now and then im sneaking a small peice of leftover halloween candy now and then...kit kats and twix is ony 11 carbs each so thay fit in well but I really shouldnt eat any...but now and a gain I got to have one.I havent gained but havent lost any either so im ok with it,but need to start back on loseing more of the chub.I have to admit I also am just getting back to working out more regularly since my oldest fur kid went over.Somehow I strained my back and its working its way down the back of my left leg, once I get moveing its better.

Cowboi 11-14-2011 05:25 PM

Had a great workout. Back, biceps, and cardio done. Myofusion(cookies and cream), and vitargo going in now!!! LoL. Will have my supper in about an hour. Hope y'all had a great Monday!!!

Zimmeh 11-14-2011 06:58 PM

Way to go everyone. I am inspired by the stories and the commitments to change.

I reached my Nov 18 goal a week ahead of schedule. I am absolutely delighted. I have not measured my body this month, but it isn't for lack of wanting to, just lack of doing!! I will do this today...by golly.

I made all of my exercise classes last week. And threw in an extra one cause I had an evening without a patient. It was all like free time, and I was soooo glad I did.

I am going through more of my clothes. I wondered if I was going through an exchange of addictions; I wanted carbs the other day, and not good ones, I found myself in line at a clothing store buying the mmmmoooosssstttt wonderful sheets. LIKE OMG microfleece, so soft I swear I am climbing into heaven...but in line I thought what if I am exchanging addictions. I don't think so, but I am trying to be conscious. Trying so very hard to be conscious.

I don't eat dairy, but I had a weak moment this weekend. Three days later I still have the symptoms. Damn whipped cream. I baked cheesecake and did not eat any. But then my finger slipped into a bowl of delicious whipped cream, a couple of times. Silly little fox.

Another week another challenge. More exercise classes. More tracking. More weigh ins. And yes I will measure myself.
