In other news
Dugan had his surgery and came through it well. When they brought him to me he licked my hand, then peed on my shoe!!:|
He wouldnt look at me and he moved away when I tried to pet him! All was forgiven once I gave him food/water...well almost they told me to only let him have a 1/2 cup each of food and water. He scarffed them both looked @me for more; and got sick a few minutes later (outside fortunatley). But now he keeps going to where I feed/water him and sits and cries because nothing is there!! I ate a cold dinner outside so he wouldnt see it or smell it and I still feel very guilty!! He keeps licking my hands checking for food if I head to the kitchen he almost beats me there!! I know he will be ok til morning...but Im not sure I will be!! |

Blaze, here's a link to the restaurant. Hopefully, you'll see something I missed. If not, we can definitely meet up at another location. Us Austinites (Man, did THAT sound funny in my head!) can eat anywhere at any time, but you two are here for a special occasion, and should be able to enjoy your dining experience to the utmost degree. As I understand it, Mother's and Magnolia Cafe have vegetarian, vegan, and/or gluten-free menu items, if Matt's doesn't have any that you would like. http://mattselrancho.com/ Here are the links for Mother's and Magnolia for comparison: http://themagnoliacafe.com/menu/ http://www.motherscafeaustin.com/d/5034805_38253.htm Organic did a quick search for vegan restaurants and Kerby Lane came up too. Here's the link for that one: http://www.kerbeylanecafe.com/menu Allllso, there's this place: http://www.wildwoodartcafe.com/cafe.php BUT, it's quite a bit away (although could be interesting). Food for thought.... Bon appetit! |

Blaze? Doll? Kerby Lane on a Sunday at that time is not doable for a large group. We've tried. It's heinous. |

I didnt know there where eating restriction. What are we looking for vegan or just vegitarian? The resturants you named are always packed on the weekend with hour or better waitng list and no reservations. |

http://www.butchfemmeplanet.com/foru...read.php?t=416 And his first post: In this thread, I wanted to have an informative array of information and links that can help everyone that is on a gluten free, lactose free, soy allergies, peanut allergies or any other allergies that people experience in food by-products. I have much more to learn on my living with crohn's/celiac disease. But through sharing with friends and co-workers, I have compiled a few interesting health care needs, do's and don'ts, recipes. I have a new friend in here that has started a thread else where, and expressed that I create a new one. So here we go. Feel free to post recipes , links, experiences or questions. I will be posting information about Crohn's, celiac, in the near future. Will also be compiling info on living Gluten free. I think his thread is awesome in general. The recipes are soooo yummy!!! :tease: Either way, I'm sure either Blaze or Doll will come in here to let us know what's feasible. :) |

A little Yelp research revealed:
Not on Yelp, but when I googled "Matt's El Rancho gluten-free" I found the following: http://www.popartsplace.com/Celiac/ says of Matt's: I had a good experience at Matt's El Rancho on South Lamar recently. I called the manager in the afternoon before dining there that evening. He said they have a list of which ingredients/dishes contain gluten. They use the list to train their staff but don't have it in a menu format. He offered to print a copy and have it at the host station when I arrived later for dinner. When we arrived they couldn't find the sheet, but the server came to the table with their kitchen copy of the list and we worked out what options would be safe. They said their corn tortillas do not contain wheat. Many of their dishes are GF if they don't sprinkle the final seasonings on them. I ordered Fajitas and they were great. Despite the busy atmosphere in the restaurant, the service was great and I had no reaction. I 'll definitely go there again. |

When did I EVER say I was nice?:readfineprint: |
Matt's says it has vegitarian but is not gluton free..ect. Sooo off I went looking for not so common resturants that might fit the bill! I kinda stoaked about trying these places, if not now another time, they sound really good. The Natural Planet is way southwest. Somnios Cafe is south of Downtown. El Sol Y La Luna is central east side!!! Natural Planet Grill Sunday 9am‐2pm 5900 W. Slaughter Ln Austin, TX 78749 Somnio"s Cafe Sunday brunch 10:30am - 2:30pm 1807 S 1st St, Austin, TX El Sol y La Luna Sunday • 9am to 4pm 600 East Sixth |
So, according to the Weather Ch. website, we're supposed to have "squalls" for most of tomorrow.
Be safe, Austinites. |
