One time...in band camp..? Okay, actually in college: my besties (2 gay boys) and I called us by our catty nicknames: Cruella, Evilla and Meanora. Evilene just reminded me of that. P.S. Blush, did you notice the name teh Arwen gave her kitteh? |

I do miss my Carmen kitty a lot. :( In other news, the first hungover college student from upstairs was met by my VERY CHEERFUL AND LOUD voice wishing them a good morning and asking them to pick up the beer cans they flung in the front yard and off the balcony onto my patio. I was very nice and very very very cheerful and loud. She winced a bit. Ahhh youth. |
the beginning starts somewhere, right?
xpost from FB.
i've been talking with a local band (who has also performed internationally) about doing a shoot with them. they were pretty quick to respond to my initial inquiry and subsequent emails have been heartening. an except from the latest email from them: Great idea re: background and concepting. Background: We started in 2001 playing punk rockified music from the turn of the 19th century. Craig High and I (Bruce Gardner) have recent ancestors that both ran with the Hole in the Wall gang (Jesse James) – so our bloodlines crossed before. We’ve been to Ireland and England twice, and have had the rare privilege of playing live on BBC Radio 2. We are in pre-production for our 3rd CD that I am hoping will be complete at the end of this year. We are working to increase our national visibility and will be aligning with some known bands within the genre in order to do so. i am just.fucking.excited. would appreciate y'all keeping good thoughts for this whole dealio and send me some grand, iconic image mojo. i'm starting to think that the move to austin is what i actually needed to do. and thanks to my mama for sharing enough of herself with me to allow me to realize that sometimes, ya just gotta go for it. |

I myself will not be wearing paint as a shirt or paisties as a shirt - but there will be plenty who do one or the other. Oh, and I'm not sure what the deodorant per person ratio is either. I grew up in Austin, so I'm used to that hippie smell. :) |

I really think you should go, I have tolkd this to Wil as well I wont be able to handle it this year but maybe you three et al could go check it out. |
Hey Austin! I wanna go have some Indian food. I'm off tomorrow so I'm going to do the buffet at the Tandoori Bistro. I'll be there at 11:30 if you have the ability to join me.

Looking forward to the Eggggstravaganza tomorrow night with all who can attend! We have the baskets, grass for them, candy, and a pair of fuzzy socks and a little notebook for each one. All we need now are the hard boiled eggs folks are bringing to the party to "dye" for!
Remember, spaghetti/garlic bread/salad for dinner at 6 p.m. and egg dying starting about 7. There are 50 residents in the nursing home we are taking them to. According to the folks working there, about 20 residents don't get visitors. We are also putting together a candy filled basket for the staff. We thank everyone in advance for bringing a dozen eggs (eggcept out of towners traveling in) already boiled and looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night!!! Pup and Oiler |

Lookin forward to the get together and doing something great. I'm sure the residents are gonna love em. I did get some dye and I am ready. see y'all tomorrow night |
Apparently there was just a candlelight vigil for Norma Hurtado and her mom. They were shot by her girlfriend's father because he didn't approve of their relationship. Somehow I missed this until today.

And it scares me that it happened in Austin. I think of Austin is some sort of LGBTQ safe-place. I guess nowhere is a guarantee. |

Thank you to Glynn and Denise for hosting a fun event. Food was good. Company great. And, you know what? It felt darn good to do something for someone else like that. So thank you for opening up your home and my heart.
Much love to you both! Me |
Hey everybody!
We're going to go hand out easter baskets tomorrow morning, in case you want to come along. The catch: the home is in Cedar Park. You can come meet at our house first, I'm sure Glynn will be making waffles or something (I don't do that morning thing, so I don't know what you people do when you gather and talk to each other when you first get up). Text or call one of us if you want to go, or just show up here at about 10, we're leaving at 10:30. |
You-know-who will be in town next weekend.:koolaid: I'm off on Saturday. Eyeore's Birthday:jester: was on the list but has been kicked to the curb.
Soooooooooooo, we thought we'd do a bbq here except I don't have a bbq. :| Silly HOA rules about not burning my neighbors down!:readfineprint::fireman: We do have a pool here and could have an impromptu pool party. Or, does anyone else have a better plan? He'd love to get to see y'all while he's in town. For some reason, trash talking and all, he likes you people. :| |
I'm training (finally! four months after getting the job!) this coming week and will have a 40 plus hour work week (yay!) but I think my only day off is that Saturday. I promised I'd take a day for my boss and she mentioned giving me Sunday but nothing was finalized.
*sigh* Some days, my office is just not big enough for two Geminis and all our multi-idosyncrasies. I'd love to do something if it is. If ya'll can't think of anything else, we have bbq pits here and a big ole pool. No jacuzzi though. Private theatre. Xbox. But no jacuzzi. That Indian restaurant we never checked out. But no jacuzzi. |
my son is in austin this weekend for a wedding of a law school friend...
it's almost like I'm there... (well, in crazy-ninaland) "almost" |

Hmmm...know anybody who has a jacuzzi? The Hot Flash dance thingy is next Saturday, I believe we promised someone we'd go to that... I mean, if you know of anyone who has a jacuzzi (even if it only fits about 4 people at a time), pool, Wii and a bbq....hmmm...it seems like there was someone... |
I just wanted to say that I had a lovely weekend with all that were around! The faces on the residents was absolutely priceless! Would love to make it an annual thing for sure, especially pitching in more for things! It was great seeing everyone again, and having the delight (not) of meeting durrrrr. Thank you for the laughs, chatter, food, and much more...and thank you Puplove and Oiler for opening up your home once again!
Mucho hugs Pixie |

That's the hairy guy next door. :| Flynn is NOT a doggie. Batman isn't either. He's a face and ear washing machine. Nayru is a doggie. I shall apologize with bacon to her soon. |
We need to decide where we're eating tomorrow. Suggestions (not Chili's)?
