:| Geez, didn't mean for my post to sound like I had done all that BEFORE I had my first cuppa joy!!

No, no, did all that yesterday! I was just bragging about what I did yesterday...

Today so far...

Made two front panels for secret present for roomie, gotta find proper fabric for back side, hummm. Maybe polar fleece?? Don't know yet.

Made breakfast and lunch for roomie. Ya I ate too. I had salad, she had ravioli in a can, blech, and tuna sammich. :|

Ribs tonight!!!!

Let see, ran an errand, critter duty as usual, I want a nap. :phonegab:

Gonna puff up center of quilt squares, will look nifty. Finish mending pants, find my paint remover, gotta get crappy paint off dresser asap. Not sure what else. OH, find my stash for spring fling project I signed up for....

Okay, not fair telling what I'm gonna do. :canadian: <... me later...

Hollylane 02-20-2014 05:04 PM

I've now sat upright and awake (strange, but I can be upright and asleep, so I have to specify), for more than 4 hours! A new record in the last 2 months. YAY!

Sweet Bliss 02-21-2014 07:31 AM

Humm. Well, let's see... yesterday I...

made center of quilt blocks puffy, (look much better now)

cooked, cleaned, worked on secret project (lots of ironing and sewing)

mapped out garden strategy

decided on big decision

and goofed off. full day!! :byebye:

Rockinonahigh 02-21-2014 01:28 PM

C0LLETTE 02-22-2014 02:58 PM

I wrote and sent a Birthday card to my daughter. It's tricky because she's in her 30's now and all the jokes don't seem quite as funny to her anymore...lol.

See, when you're in your 60s, and up, people don't dare make snide age jokes cause what if you keeled over the next day. They'd feel awful ( for the most part ). But 30ers are fair game: generally in good health, in their prime, world's their oyster...and not nearly old enough to know it doesn't last forever...it's a party ...and I'd be the last one to spoil it for her.

WingsOnFire 02-23-2014 04:39 PM

met sissy for breakfast and went to tge Dollar Tree for a girly shopping trip..
Bathed the big dog.
Walked both dogs.
Ate left over Thai food.
Washed the bed linens. They are currently in the dryer.
Washed the car. It was filthy.

Waiting to go see Sir and take Him to work.

Paradox 02-23-2014 05:43 PM

No plans to accomplish much today on last day of the olympics and a hockey game. :D

If lucky I will finish marketing poster for a group class and drafting questions for my accountant?
;)

Ginger 02-23-2014 07:14 PM

Today my sister and I took our mom to a nice women's clothing store in McKinney, just north of where my parents—I guess I should say my mom—live.

She wanted to find a suit to wear to our dad's memorial service and graveside ceremony. She's lost so much weight, she's down to a size 6 and even tried on some size 4 skirts.

In the end she bought two lovely slacks/skirt/suit jacket sets, one gray and one black. She also got a nice blouse. My sister and I were running back and forth bringing her different sizes and combinations of outfits. In the midst of it all, I got myself a little silk top to wear with my black skirt and sweater.

Afterwards we went to a restaurant and it was very weird, not having him with us and it was awkward to pay for it ourselves, but we're falling into a pattern easily, of taking turns. Today I accomplished moving through the steps of this hard time.

Sweet Bliss 02-24-2014 09:38 AM

Well, let's see... yesterday, Sunday:

Worked on love seat cover. Got the bottom cushion almost done, need to add a casing along the bottom edge. Instead of buying an expensive zipper, I am making the cover with a casing on the bottom edge so Roomie only has to loosen the cord to remove the cover. Toss in the washer and dryer, and done! Much better than wrestling the dang thing. So it looks like an expensive custom cover but it's not! Today I have to figure out how to make the cover for the back, arms, and front panel along the bottom. :)

Went grocery shopping. Have alot of cooking this week ahead of me.

Wasn't feeling good after that so I went to bed. Still not feeling very perky right now.

The weather is lovely outside, so I will probably go clean up the mess from the rain and wind after I get dressed and eat something.

Later gators! :pirate-steer:

sara-bera 02-24-2014 09:48 AM

  • Cleaned the bathroom,

willow 02-24-2014 10:05 AM

Got some work done.
Took a short walk.
Got some more work done.
Cleaned out the fridge. No out of date food but I do not need to know what was growing on the sticky shelf :|
Ate a piece of cake. Pretty crummy! Too dry.
Got some work done.
Hung a cabbage in the chook run. Nothing excites a chicken like a nice fresh cabbage.
Bit more work done.
Looked at the tree stump.
Looked at the tree stump some more. Decided it can wait.

Accomplished today

Up at 5:00 am to pack up breakfast and lunch then commute 1.5 hours to work.

At work I save the world one wetland at a time for 9 hours while eating breakfast and lunch.

Leave work and commute 1.5 hours home.

At home I make breakfast and lunch for tomorrow, eat dinner, clean house, take care of kitties, and rest if I get a chance.

Sweet Bliss 02-25-2014 09:23 PM

thanks Chad for putting my life in a new paradigm.

Kissinger is right. I'm a useless eater.

Ginger 02-25-2014 09:24 PM

  • Picked up Dad's SUV from the shop
  • With my sister, went by Costco to pick up Dad's photos we had blown up for the service on Saturday, also got snack food for all the grandkids coming in this weekend (Mom's bunko group is providing meals for Thursday through Monday)
  • Met with Mom's pastor, to finalize some details of the service
  • Edited a piece to read at the service
  • Cleaned up the breakfast dishes and the dinner dishes (my sister cooked)
  • Played word games at the dinner table with my sister and mom
We're moving very efficiently through all the tasks we need to do.

willow 03-06-2014 08:17 AM

Purchased a heavy duty washing line post and the concrete to secure it.

Concreted said post in place.

I now have somewhere to tie the washing line to. :dance2:

It was rather inconvenient of the storms to blow down the tree I used to use!

I remembered to get some paid work done. Damn bills won't pay themselves.

Hi, this is my first post. Today I did something scary and attended the passport event at the cspc in Seattle.

C0LLETTE 03-08-2014 02:21 PM

I looked around my house, filled boxes with all sorts of stuff I hadn't seen or used in 10 years or more, and threw it all out or made donation boxes. Not a bad few hours work.

Cid 03-08-2014 03:35 PM

I got some cleaning done, some laundry and then went
to a bingo that I really didn't want to go to. But my friend won
$1000!! I was so happy for her because she needed it so bad!

Sweet Bliss 03-10-2014 01:55 PM

Alrighty then, painted rust preventer on four metal chairs, one Japanese style outdoor garden lantern, it's in several pieces right now.

Out in the sun too long, gonna have to rest for a bit.

But I'm sure netflix has something interesting to watch...:jester:

ProfPacker 03-10-2014 04:20 PM

Let's see, well I sat for 4 hours waiting for a tow truck to tow my daughter's car to a mechanic. So many excuses. I kind of understand why ex doesn't want to give kid car to go to work (even though she doesn't use it during the day), so that leaves guess who to drive her to work by 6:30 AM tomorrow.

Can you pick her up I ask: although kid would have to wait at work, no I don't think I can get there.

JustLovelyJenn 03-10-2014 06:03 PM

I made it through work and everyone is still alive...

... oh and I went grocery shopping

MsTinkerbelly 03-10-2014 07:27 PM

I managed to get myself all worked up, and now I have chest pains.

Great, just great:firetruck:

JustLovelyJenn 03-10-2014 09:36 PM

After work and grocery shopping I...

... did homework with the kids
... made dinner
... ate with my family
... cleaned up from the day
... went for a 25 minute walk with my son

I feel amazing!

Violette 03-10-2014 11:49 PM

I managed to get through work without saying something I would regret later.

Got to see my kiddo early and take a walk.

Had great conversations with the kid.

Okay, bought some throwaway brushes this morning to finish painting rust stopper stuff on my metal projects. Now I can see all the many spots I missed, :pointing: , got ahead of myself I guess?

So, anyhoo, made a second set of keys for Grace, since I've lost the original set, put them in a safe place so I would forget. :jester: I'm so clever I scare myself!

Took off the mirrors with V's help, soaking some of the rusted on bolts in vinegar, hoping I will be able to get them off later. Going to scrub/paint metal rod thingys that hold the mirrors up in place. Then I'm gonna paint with a bright spring green. That's because the back side of the mirrors are handpainted to look like Sunflowers!

I was inspired by Left Right Femme's posts on Daktari's wall, you know, all the lovely frogs? Am going to paint some of those lovely creatures on the sides of Grace. Today if the weather holds, I will wash the pollen off the sides and the toys and start drawing out where I want them to sit. Shall be great fun!!!

I wish I had a friend around here who could sit and talk to me while I work. I used to talk to Yoda, but he's gone now. Been having nightmares about my little buddy, dreaming that my mother has covered him in a suffocating gel, and I have to race to the kitchen sink to rinse it off him before he dies. Nasty way to wake up I can tell you.

Anyhoo, before I dissolve into tears again, think I will use the scraps of canvas to make big sunflower leaves to attach to the poles. I need to do something creative that will help me with my grief.

So any ways. Checked on my storage this morning. Not as much stuff left as I remembered. Thank goodness.

Well, let see. Think I will go eat some of V's salad she is making for us. So nice to have fresh foods to eat. I miss all the fresh fruit in Hawaii. Especially papaya.

Oh well. Mexico will have to do for now. :waitinggirl:

Barb42 03-11-2014 02:01 PM

I have stacked firewood & wrapped kinneling bundles... Raked the back yard... Kept up with a very energetic 5yr. Little girl... Now hoping I make it to the couch to catch my breath bwfore fixing dinner..
