Well, welcome to the Oklahoma thread :)

I'm in OKC, still don't know a whole lot about OK, I'm a transplant

boobookitty 03-08-2012 09:18 AM

whats you fav bar/culb in OKC?

thedivahrrrself 03-08-2012 09:59 AM

Oklahomans?!?

Wow, here I was thinking Mr. JAGG and I were the only ones! WTF is up with this weather? It used to snow on spring break every year! :-)

We should do some kind of lake outing in the summer!

Well if it makes you feel any better its snowing on my in Chanute ks right now.

LOL @ JAGG

I'm glad for the no snow, but I worry what it means for tornado season this year. Usually, a mild winter equals an ugly, ugly spring....

I enjoy meet and greet events.

As for the weather, we had rain... and now have mud! But the fire is going good, and my chores are done (until this evenings set of have to do's)

I don't like wet and cold at the same time, but the wind I am glad to have blowing because that gives me electricity from my wind genderator!

I'm too old to want to do the bar scene anymore, lol

I'm more the stay at home and hang out type, unless there's a gathering somewhere that isn't a bar

I think a lake gathering would be great if we could find one we all agree on and we all make the time for it.
I think you have to take into consideration where everyone who would go lives and find a happy middle.
A cookout or potluck along with fishing would be nice.

Do any of you go to the Herland retreats? There is one in spring and one in fall, (I think May and Oct)

I've never been but have heard that it is a fun time for all.

boobookitty 03-09-2012 08:12 AM

I went to the last two, I think I might be part of the entertainment...
(I change clothes a lot)

My favorite quote from last fall, "Is that Jay? It walks like Jay."

funny story:
last fall my GF went with me, and she is really shy. During the concert, we went back to our cabin, played the boom box, danced, -lights out - clothing optional- and we laid out on the bed making out... (smiles)

well, she was laying on top of me... I was toplesss (I'm not shy) and a room mate walked in to get something from her bunk... MY GIRL ...shreaked, jumped off of me ...trying to cover herself up...

the FUNNY part --- I was in just my boxer briefs -- she WAS FULLY CLOTHED!

She jumped offf of me... left me exposed ...

I was laughing so hard!!!!

Herland

My old band performed at one of the Herland retreats. We had fun, but it was strange. The first night, everyone was drinking and flirting and laughing, but the 2nd night other people arrived, and it was much more serious and PC and just...different. All and all, we had a good time, but I'm not sure how open the "regulars" are to the B/F dynamic.

Herland might be a decent place for everyone to get together. We could have a B/F cabin, I guess. But personally, I tend to like smaller groups. What are y'all's thoughts?

Smaller groups, no cost except getting where we need to be and bringing whatever we agree on.
Who needs a cabin for a day outing anyway?

Looks really nice there and it's an equal distance from OKC and Tulsa. It's a perk that it's a river and not a lake. fishing should be great there and nature in abundance.

Are there spots to gather for a cookout and socialization?

There are primitive camping spots and brick outhouses. You have to take your own wood and everything. I love the place. Grew up going there. It's amazing.

Well, I'd go fishing there, but I don't think it would be good for a gathering, not everyone would use a brick outhouse. I don't care because when you have to go, even the woods look good, lol.

Blue river

That looks beautiful! I'm in, if someone will bait my hook for me.

I'm also down for cooking something. Requests?

Should we do April or May before it gets too hot?

I have class, but I am free the weekend of the 4/14, 4/28, or any weekend in May besides the first one.

dammit!

Oh, whoops, nevermind, forgot to check the summer schedule. The only weekend I have in May is the last one (5/26).

Well, I think if you go fishing anywhere you best be prepared to use some form of public restrooms even if that means the woods. I guess I could drive my mothers motor home down so those who have to have proper facilities could do so.
