Did I miss it?

I'll have to google the clothing - the rest of the stuff doesn't do much for me - feed the hungry with all that money used for that extravaganza.

Me too- the Paris Hilton's, Charlie Sheen's, and the rest of our drug & alcohol and celebrity and attention addicted youth are no match for those two. They both completed college, he serves his country and they are seriously involved in charity work. They also demonstrated maturity in living together before marrying and really thinking about the fact that they will never have an ordinary life together. It seemed to me that they wanted very much to include the people of Britain on their special day.

My feeling about them is that they will accept their duty as part of the proud British traditions seriously. I don't envy having to live a life under so much scrutiny every breathing moment.

It made me feel good to see Britain have a day of celebration for their heritage and traditions. I enjoyed the multitude of British reporters- their pride and joy and information about their history and customs. I like British reserve anyway.

And you bet, from the numbers of people in London celebrating, some businesses that really have been going through hard times, had a good week.

Well, I may not understand hats but I LOVED Aretha's bow-hat.

The 'L' PLate was a nice touch as well, Diva. Over here that is a Learner's plate for people learning to drive. It was a beautiful event and it was so good to see everyone so happy. It's been a tough few years and this was just the boost I think the country needed. You could hear the roar outside when the Archbishop pronounced them husband and wife. 400 of those guests in the Abbey were from Prince William's charities. I thought it was very sweet that he waited until the very last moment to see her dress. He blushed just like his Mother did and said 'You're gorgeous. You are beautiful.' It was very sweet.

And Diva, that choir was wonderful. I really liked that very contempory comissioned piece, though at first J and I thought it sounded like a Disney soundtrack...but it really grew on me.

I heard (on TV) that the bridal party all wearing varying shades of white is traditional in British weddings. All the little attendants were wearing white as well.

I could have appreciated Princess Bea's hat as a kind of post-modern take on the bow if her makeup had been fresher. She looks at least a decade older than she is.

I wasn't crazy about Will's red coat, although I realize it's his uniform, I prefer a dark color, like Harry's.

There is an encore performance of the wedding and all of the events that took place today tonight.

To her credit it took a lot of guts to wear that to one of the most televized events of the 20th and 21st centuries. It would be cooler if it was her making a statement on the ridiculousness of these forehead ornament thingies. Alas, I think it probably wasn't *les sigh*

Then again, the more I look at the thing, the more I like it just because it's so friggin' outrageous :p I mean, I personally think these things look more than a little silly, but mostly they try to make it look "elegant" or something...but this one kind of turns that on its head and makes light of the whole thing. Even if it's unintentional...lol

It's not uncommon for the pageboys to wear white/off white as well.

What is a 'no no' is for anyone who's not in the bridal party to wear white/off white as were they to do so, they could possibly draw attention from the bride.

The major topic of discussion this evening? The fact that Pippa had no VPL. No mention yet of which box she would tick were she to vote in June's poll but hey, it's still early;)
