I've been waiting for an opportunity to post this somewhere.
Most of the geekery in this thread has been of the non-vidjagame variety (save perhaps for weatherboi posting the Konami Code, which I rather appreciated), so I figure I may as well correct that. Supergiant Games, the independent video game studio that made the excellent Bastion--a game known for its art direction and especially its excellent narrator, Logan Cunningham--just announced its next project recently. It's a game called Transistor.
The first video is the minute-and-change release trailer originally posted (get a load of the music, seriously). The second is IGN's video of the demo that Supergiant Games brought to PAX, showing off the game's art direction, gameplay, and use of sound in greater detail (including a new song by the same vocalist who did the song in the release trailer, Ashley Barrett), as well as revealing a few things about the plot and protagonist. One of my favourite little bells and whistles as far as the audio direction goes occurs a bit after 2:35 and is repeated several times throughout the video--see if you can catch it.
The plot admittedly confuses me--though I expect the intro sequence should get some polishing between the initial demo and the 2014 release--but I'm digging the protagonist. She's as fabulous as the audio direction and Ashley Barrett's voice.
This video is a MUST SEE for GOT fans, especially if you haven't read the books. It connects the books and the show in amazing ways that will bring a whole new dimension to the story. Can't wait for ComicGirl19's next GOT family history.
