"Brunch" tomorrow with my mother, gf, and my gf's son. Supposedly a HUGE buffet.....58 different cakes per my mother!

Gemme 03-12-2011 07:57 PM

A turkey and pepperjack sandwich with spicy brown mustard on Oroweat's healthFULL 10 grain bread, a snack bag of Sun Chips and a snack bag of crunchy Cheetos. Water to drink.

DapperButch 03-12-2011 08:08 PM

So that smorgasborg my mother dragged us all to an hour away was insane. Huge place. Probably 8,000 square feet. This place was massive. I had this image of us as cattle being herded through the line..which was kind of a disturbing thought...but the food was fantastic, so that quickly left my head!

Oh, and she exaggerated the number of cakes...she was sooo specific with the number that I thought it was an actual number...no, her just picking a number out of the air!

Well, I'm thinking about an English muffin for brunch but now I'm thinking about cake. The German Chocolate is calling my name.

Ebon hasn't had anything substantial yet though, so I may make some actual food for him.

A small tupperware container of reheated "poor man's beef stroganoff" (made with ground beef)....and a Coke Zero

I'm guessing the velociraptors ....ummmm, I mean teenagers....liked dinner last night. It was a huge pan full (2-1/2 lbs of hamburger, 3/4 bag of egg noodles and a tub of Philly cooking cream)...and there was only that one little tub left over for me today. :)

I made my version of pizza bread today for lunch. Pretty simple. Just deli hoagie rolls, split in half lengthwise with a little pizza sauce, pepperoni and cheese. Baked until cheese is all gooey, melty and yummy. :)

Nina 03-22-2011 02:08 PM

I was out for the longest I have been in a week...on the way back home, I stopped at whole foods and got supplies to make (my version of) shepherd's pie...lots of veggies, wine and tomatoes, organic beef, covered with mashed potatoes and panko bread crumbs...it's going to be hot, and filling, and (I hope) hit the spot...I am hungry for a week now...time to eat something of substance...

we'll see, eh? :)

lunch is always my Big meal...

For you, this shall be your personal brunch thread.

Wala!

:cheesy:

Today, I had a sandwich on Oroweat's healthful 10 grain bread of fat free ham, pepperjack cheese, and spicy brown mustard. One Granny Smith apple and a serving of Lay's Kettle Cooked Original chips later and I was good to go.
