princessbelle 07-28-2012 05:54 PM

Sitting on the deck hearing someone playing blues guitar a few houses down and Bully saying she was gonna go crash the party. Both of us laughing about that possibility; because neither of us put that past her.

Bella's tiny face up in the window when i drove in the driveway. Her little face is so tiny she looked like a stuffed animal. So sweet she knows when it is about time for me to be home and she jumps on the couch and watches for me. (f)

Going 5 hours without anything to drink today because i didn't pass any stores and was trying to get my day done and get home. When i finally got a coke....i could have easily been on a coke commercial. The humidity must have been 3281. It was freaking HOT. That coke, when i finally got it, was FREAKING WONDERFUL.

I may not ever get over it. :blueheels:

Remembering anniversaries in months

:bunchflowers:

ruffryder 08-04-2012 09:36 AM

It's the little things

Your smile
your face
the way you are is priceless
and it's love
I know
nothing is more valuable than a faithful kiss

a hug
and " I miss you "
and the way you look
that's what teaches me how to love
and the way you express
This is what surpasses the material things
because I can breathe through your love
I want to be here

a memory forever
a kiss on the forehead
is the most important
and it's love
I know
Nothing can match your simplicity

Knowing what I'm saying even when I'm not saying it.

Having my back when the chips are down. Not giving up.

Knowing what my coffee order is. Because I am not a morning person :|

... remembering the little things.

Holly.88 08-04-2012 12:35 PM

It's the little things like....

When she willingly makes a trip to McDonald's just to get me a sweet tea when my head hurts.
The cute little notes she leaves for me to find in my luggage.
Watching Olympic soccer with her.
Cooking a meal together. (Our specialties now include: cheesy shrimp and grits, chicken stir-fry, and tacos)
Making her laugh till she's short of breath. I love her laugh :)
Knowing that I am loved by her.
When she stops the car for us to stalk a stray dog we passed by.
The way she asks me to rub her back every night we're together.
The way she makes me feel.

Greyson 08-26-2012 02:28 AM

The little things in one's relationship can literally include a little one. My relationship does. My girlfriend has a daughter that is 10 years old. This may be another thread but I have got to say, sometimes being the "step-parent" figure can be a challenge and sometimes also a wonderful gift. Today when this little 10 year old acknowledged I had gone out of my way in doing something for her, I paused and realized just how much her letting down her guard and saying "Thank you Grey. Really, thank you a lot." That was one of those little things in a relationship. I am grateful.

Gemme 08-26-2012 09:00 AM

Like Greyson, I am a step parent to a 10 year old. I really enjoy it because she's old enough to have her own opinions and we're able to sit down and have some real quality conversations, like we did this morning.

Breakfast and some family chatter with a little rain in the background makes for a pretty good start to the day.

jac 08-26-2012 08:22 PM

Seeing her FB response to my status... (big bois do cry... okay tearing up but still) :bigcry:

Holding hands in the Farm truck on the way back from dinner.

Yeah, that.

Hollylane 09-14-2012 10:37 AM

She said (all the way off in Maryland): "It's sitting on your side of the truck"

Coming home to roses and stargazers for no reason *swoon*

cinnamongrrl 10-03-2012 05:41 PM

Coming home to kisses and snuggles after a longgg day :)

FemmeBibliophile 10-08-2012 07:39 AM

While not in a relationship... I can say, that it's the little things like:

Bringing me coffee in bed every once in a while.
Holding hands.
Random flowers showing up at my job.
Late night snuggles talking about anything and everything.
Remembering my favorite desserts.
Picking out a book for me.

princessbelle 10-09-2012 06:43 PM

A fire in the fireplace (even though it's a fake one)
Pumpkin spice triple candle filling the house with Autumn pleasure.
Happy puppies bouncing around playing with new toys
Darkness
Quietness
Restfulness

Easiness

ruffryder 10-09-2012 07:55 PM

snuggles and cuddles at the end of the day. her beside me when we go to bed at night. :)

gaea 10-09-2012 08:17 PM

All about Friends

its the little things like

dinner with friends
chatting it up with friends
knowing they are all there by my side, even when they are on another coast
meeting new friends along the way
cherishing everyone here
the quiet the much needed quiet time
never giving up
my pup right by my side
virtual hugs and virtual fun
the smiles
the love
the laughter
most of all
knowing
you are all here :)

Kätzchen 10-15-2012 12:23 AM

For me, the little things in life are:
Quiet mornings spent gazing out toward the west side of life where I often times see the smoke rise from my neighbor's chimney and the pine trees that sway in the gentle wind or hear the chimes on my patio deck or hear birdsong, no matter the time of day.

When my kids come to me for help or to share something about their day or when my children do something totally unexpected and thoughtful for me - which always makes me smile and feel very special, since I am their mother.

When my mother does something totally unexpected, too. Like the time she called me on her way home from work to tell me about a dear friend who passed away from brain cancer - my closet childhood friend, Ingrid. The way she told me little things that she was finally able to talk about (because Ingrid's partner called her out of the blue, unexpectedly). This was a "Little, Big" moment in that it's taken the better part of 30 years for my mother to realise that I am who I am and not some person who deserves to suffer family ridicule or social shame or be discounted as a person in society because I'm not of the heterosexual persuasion. Over the years, I have shed slowly in layers who I am not only to my own children but to my own family and friends who I work with or know outside of work or even to this community.

Sometimes it is the big things about me that I share so little about and mostly the reason I am so protective about who I am is the tremendous level of rejection I have suffered through on my own, over the years. The "Little,Big" things for me are often found right here in our community because I learn to trust people slowly and reveal myself in shades of who I am. That's a huge privilege for me to 'grow up' here and be counted a friend by many of you. I don't take any of you for granted. And for that pleasure, I am deeply grateful to be here counted among us all.

:stillheart:
