Another sock derail:

My partner is very, um, habitual in the way he does all things. (Read: boring.) I am a VERY colorful, vibrant, expressive, and even flamboyant person in my dress. (I'm sure this surprises you all.) But he likes things the same way every time SO much that it carries over into his clothing. He wears literally the same thing every day. EVERY. DAY.

Not as in literally the same shirt that he never washes, but he owns a number of the same things in the same color and all winter all he fucking wears are his jeans (which are all the same), a hunter green river driver shirt from LL Bean, and tan socks. Ugh.

One day he showed up on one of our dates wearing a tan river driver. And I nearly had an instantaneous orgasm at the change of color. And TAN ISN'T EVEN A FUCKING COLOR!!!!! I HATE tan LOLOLOL.

Yet, I really could hardly contain myself with that damn tan shirt. He is starving my poor artist's eyes, I tell you. I need color!

Today: my feet are still naked but I will keep you updated.

Keeper! I like him already.

candy_coated_bitch 11-21-2013 09:09 PM

fluffy stripey socks in different shades of pink.

And, yes I am wearing them in bed, because that's where on wears cozy items of clothing.

ahk 11-22-2013 04:57 PM

today: athletic socks with frogs all over them.

Well, it is good to see that there is something about you that has a bit of animation to it, Mr. Roboto.

candy_coated_bitch 11-22-2013 08:44 PM

Today: light purple with darker purple heels, toes, and trim with snowflakes and a penguin on top of the foot. The penguin has a blue glitter scarf. Yay glitter! Boo tan!

DapperButch 11-22-2013 10:12 PM

River Driver Shirts

I had to look them up. The sound of this two layer fabric sound comfortable and practical. Warm, but not heavy. I hate heavy clothing (except leather jackets).

They are very warm and snuggly, actually. I steal them all the time because they are both toasty and comfortable. I'm wearing the dark brown one right now (*puke* at the color, but what can you do?) because who needs a color beyond green, right? I recommend them if you don't like bulky, heavy clothing but need to keep warm in winter an chit.

:| <-------can't believe I just said that face LOL

PS: I am buying him the burnt sienna and nautical heather for Christmas because I am sick of green!!!!!!!

WolfyOne 11-24-2013 10:02 AM

First let me say that it's cold here today

I'm doing laundry and sitting here in blue sweats and black tee shirt with my white crew socks and over them I put on these blue and grey (I think they're called footies) fuzzy sort of like socks, my ex gave me a few years back...and my flip flops :|

I have no reason to go outside today.

candy_coated_bitch 11-24-2013 11:13 AM

Oh, Wolfy. Wolfy, Wolfy, Wolfy.

Where did you go wrong over the years? You sure as hell don't have a reason to be going outside in two pairs of socks with flip flops over them!

Major sock violation.

cara 11-24-2013 11:26 AM

Yesterday, i got to wear my over-the-knee stripey socks in my favorite shades of pink and purple. I was a happy camper.

:sock:

cara 11-24-2013 09:36 PM

so excited!!!

Just learned about a local (for me) sock store. Trips to PDX sock stores and paying for shipping may be a thing of my past. Woohoo!

Socks!

OMG, soooooooo jealous!!!!!! I am pretty sure I don't have a store nearby that sells just socks. I know of stores that sell some cool socks, just not one devoted to socks.

My feet are naked. I finally turned my heat on tonight and now I'm hot. I feel like I am going through early menopause or something.

cara--we are all relying on you to carry the sock thread, here!

candy_coated_bitch 11-24-2013 09:42 PM

MUST HAVE

I've already found like ten pairs I need. Damn, you!

cara 11-24-2013 09:50 PM

Oh! Those are great! I typically go for over-the-knee styles, but if they are awesome like those, CCB, i make an exception.

:hangloose:

cara 11-24-2013 09:51 PM

P.s. Tell Santa and maybe they will be there for you around the holidays this year!

Gemme 11-25-2013 06:16 AM

I'll be wearing light blue argyle socks under medium blue with zany zig zags socks today.

Yes, I do. And unicorns pooping magic rainbows are a NEED.

Now: Red fuzzy bed socks because it's cold as FUCK!
Yesterday: Light blue ankle socks with brown heels, toes, and trim that say "PEDRO OFFERS HIS PROTECTION" in pink and brown letters. (If you are a Napoleon Dynamite geek you will understand this.)

Gemme 11-27-2013 07:26 PM

Inside: white crew socks with blue bands, heels and toes and blue, pink and green argyle pattern.

Outside: blue and black wool socks.

candy_coated_bitch 12-13-2013 07:49 PM

Grey knee socks with thin, brightly colored stripes in pink, blue, orange, yellow and green.

candy_coated_bitch 12-30-2013 06:59 PM

Rose colored fluffy bed socks. They came in a set of three--a rose colored pair, a black pair, and a striped pair with rose, black, and white stripes. It makes me wish I could wear the whole set at once.

OMG--who else layered several pairs of socks in the 80's, wore them with high top sneakers, and rolled up their jeans to show them off?

<---------Totally did that.

nycfem 12-30-2013 07:02 PM

I'm all about sock layering!

Gemme 12-30-2013 11:21 PM

Sock layering is more functional than fun for me. Poor circulation plus low temps make for freezing tootsies. I do it nearly every day in winter.

I'm doing it RIGHT NOW.

BTW, I totally got cute, fuzzy, super soft socks for Christmas.

:sock:

kittygrrl 12-31-2013 01:28 AM

my socks are just sad, i need cute socks w/ :rubberducky::rubberducky: and :hk1:

Daktari 12-31-2013 03:05 AM

Today my feets sport grey wool hiking socks, these along with the new goretex/leather boots will keep m'toesies warm today.

DapperButch 12-31-2013 06:45 AM

The sock thread! Layering has always freaked me out. I have the sensation of one sock sliding inside the other and it disturbs me.

The only winter adjustment is whit ankle socks to white crew (6 inch up the foot) socks. For work, there are times I will wear thicker cotton socks instead of the trouser/dress socks. I work inside though, so it doesn't matter much.

Gemme 01-01-2014 10:37 AM

The socks only slide around if they or the shoes don't fit well. It's good to match a thinner sock with a thicker sock on the outside.

Well, since you are the layering queen, you should know! I thought it was more of a problem if it was a thinner sock inside a thicker sock. I don't know. I just remember the feeling (eons ago), was creepy. If I wasn't so lazy I would get off of this recliner, go upstairs, and try it again!

Sooooo, it happened last night. Being 5 degrees outside, it got a bit cold in here. Mostly because I didn't consider that I was up later than usual and my automatic temperature control changed to overnight temperature level..5 degrees colder. My feet were freezing and I remembered Ms. Gemme and her layering. Indeed, it works! Warm toes!

Gemme 01-06-2014 05:33 AM

It's nice to be appreciated!

candy_coated_bitch 01-06-2014 11:35 AM

I purposefully bought plain black ankle socks this weekend.

BUT, I had a good reason, I swear! Every now and again in life you just have to tone down the sockage to show off your bright red shoes.

candy_coated_bitch 01-13-2014 10:25 PM

Apparently I went out tonight wearing only one sock. It was yellow with pictures of nail polish bottles on it. On the other foot I wore only my sneaker.

I have no idea what to make of this.

Cid 01-14-2014 08:25 AM

I love my fuzzy socks. I've got every colour imaginable. People make fun of me and can't understand why I would wear such thick socks but when they are so soft on my feet, I can't resist!

willow 01-14-2014 04:48 PM

Fuzzy purple slipper socks. Super soft and cosy.
