One Day Anne Hathaway & Jim Sturgess

Adapted from the internationally praised bestselling novel, “One Day”. Emma & Dexter meet on the night of their college graduation – July 15th, 1988. She is a working-class girl of principle and ambition who dreams of making the world a better place. He is a wealthy charmer who dreams that the world will be his playground. For the next two decades, every July 15th reveals to us how “Em” and “Dex” are faring, as their friendship ebbs and flows with the passing of the years. Through love and loss, heartbreak and success, hopes fulfilled and dreams shattered, they experience the grandeur of life. Somewhere along their journey, these two people realize that what they are searching and hoping for has been there for them all along.

I love Spike Lee's films, but Spike should have left this one alone.

I highly recommend you see Park Chan-wook's version, if you haven't done so already.

The one by Chan-wook is the best film I've seen on revenge (and how revenge serves no one!), bar none. It's one of the most disturbing films I've seen, but it was damn good and stayed with me for weeks.

I thought Spike was too obvious and that lessened the impact for me. I'on't know why Spike remade this ... maybe he had money to burn.

I totally agree! I loved the original but thought most people would be familiar with the latest version. Disturbing, thought provoking, dark, intense and an utterly brilliant story from start to finish. I also wonder why Spike touch this classic film, he was probably trying to appeal to a mass audience, I think he totally ruined ambiance and suspense....especially the ending.
