it's an old joke, guy walks in a bar, pulls out a tiny piano and a 12" pianist.
bartender says "where did you get the lil piano player?' guy says.... "well i found this lamp and when i rubbed it a genie came out he granted me 3 wishes." the bar tender says "well what the hell did you wish for?" guy says "well i asked for a million dollars and POOF! i had a million dollars.... then i asked for a beautiful model for my wife.. POOF! there stood Linda Evengelista, ready to marry me on the spot..." then the bartender interupts "so what's with the lil piano dude?" the guy says " well then..... the genie thought he heard me say, I wish i had a 12" pianist" lmao |
visiting with a garden friend and his wife, getting many envelopes of seeds, giving many iris tubers and hostas. Seeing their lovely new all silk bedspread and pillows made in India at a wonderful store in India..getting the link to it so I can dream too...

The writer's workshop my team attended in the city. Great stuff, lots of creativity and laughter. I wish everyday were filled with so much freedom and support!

Waking up in my own bed next to my husband. Having coffee from my favorite coffee mug. Seeing my puppies jumping around happy to see me. It's fun to travel, but coming home rocks!

Finding out that my mechanics rotated and inflated my tires without being asked (I wasn't going to ask them anyway, since they're not the "tire place", but they did it anyway cuz they know I'm concerned with time management and finances during this move).
Hearing from a dear friend that I had not heard from in a couple of weeks or so. Sweet 'n sour chicken. Finally choosing and purchasing a GPS. What brought me joy today...
My quiet time in the morning getting dressed for work. Despite needing a touch up ~ having a kickass hair day! My honey winning a gift certificate to a new restaurant in town ~ can you say FREE date night?! Plans tomorrow to visit some friends in Houston & watch the Texans game! YAY for beer & waaaaaangs! Marking another big ol' red X on the calendar ~ 6 days until the Reunion!!!!!!! |
My postman just brought me a sweet little box with the last piece of my Reunion attire......oh yeah. I'm excited!

getting a call from my daughter who is assembling her very first classroom..listening to her excitement, her plans for the children she will teach, the projects she is putting together, and planning with me on doing an intergenerational pen pal craft exchange through out the year with my (hopefully I get this job) seniors and her kindergarteners. The thrill in her voice...I get teary eyed when I think of the many lives she is going to teach and what a wonderful person she is...

The paperwork for my marraige finally came through today - the last piece of legal paperwork! It's taken 16 months!! But it's here and we can send it all off to the Netherlands on Tues to declare Ondertrouw

It's been paperwork from four countries for well over a year and tons of stress and starting over twice and finally employing the ombudsman in Amsterdam to get this sorted!!! thank you, Becca. I never had a mother who was involved with my life. I am so glad I can be part of my daughter's, for her as well as for me. She came over tonight and showed me the hands she made so she can clip their daily chores to them. And the birthday chart she is creating to make each one feel special. And how she is only using a generic bathroom pass instead of a boys and girls pass to remove one more gender selection activity from her class. She is creating the county fair for them as a welcoming to her classroom, giving out ribbons when they bring in things to show. A ferris wheel is being created out of cardboard boxes and gizmos (she knows what she is doing) and each child will have their name on a seat and a suprise in the bucket at the end of the first week...she never stopped talking about what she had already done and what she was doing...
I am so very proud of her and so glad I am home to be part of this... Quote:

yesterday morning, while scouting out my new surroundings, I found a WONDERFUL, expansive, peaceful, beautiful Wild Life Refuge. Willy Bear and I went for a several hour hike and were so tickled to see so many wonderful things... HUGE flocks of Blue Birds and Indigo Buntings, all kinds of dragon flies and butterflies of every color, VERY VERY tiny frogs and funny colored lizards.... just a very peaceful place. I even got "kissed" by a black and white Swallow Tail Butterfly (had NEVER seen one of those before!) and Willy brought back his very own Pet Rock. *giggles at silly dog*
I was so happy and tickled to find this place so close to home....and there's even a few wonderful fishing spots!!!! Today.... I'm headed back because I can't resist and because I forgot my camera yesterday. |

What is giving me joy this day is seeing my daughter finding and making her way....nesting.....being responsible for her life and realizing the good things in it.

That my best friend of 23 years, had her baby boy today after being sick and in and out of the hospital for the last two weeks. I am an Aunt again and her oldest little boy is a big brother!!!

Waking up today and everyday....feels good to open my eyes each day and thank God for another day...more love, more encouragement, more work (of course), more time to do more things with family and friends, more more more!
