Good Morning Everyone,

I am thinking about eggs, toast and bagels, fresh fruit, juice, coffee and tea this morning for breakfast.

Since Freyja has left the building, I picked out a wonderful and appropriate song for today. I am dedicating it to my microbiology professor!

TGIF!!!

Good Morning Jake,

Did you hear or read that Kenneth Cole is closing down the stores that aren't doing well? He is closing all of his stores in Orlando, which stinks. I love his shoes and bags, if I want to go to a store, I have to go to Miami.

Hope you had a good night's rest!

:bringcoffee: Good morning friends :)

Thank you for breakfast Zimmy ...and the musical interlude :giggle: Sounds very appropriate for that professor! Makes me wonder whatever happened to Freyja though...she used to keep us supplied in morning music...

My breakfast so far this morning is hot tea with lots of lemon...trying to get a little unclogged and to soothe my throat. I was doing the warm saltwater gargle last night...disgusting but effective.

The good news is that after work today I am officially off for 11 days....and I work for a company that seriously wants you to take your time off and not even check email so woooooo hoooooo! I'll have time to get better, and also to do some fun stuff as well. The Rooster leaves the day after Christmas to go spend a week with his father and a day or two with his Granny (my crazy mother). I'm a little nervous about his first unaccompanied flight, but of course, he's totally taking it in stride. He's also hoping for snow so he can go sledding. :cold:

Hope you all have a good day.... :gimmehug:
And :lips: to my :alarm: baby....that alarm is gonna go off any minute...

Zimmeh 12-17-2010 08:09 AM

Woohoo Jo Jo!!!

Have a wonderful vacation!

I broke another glass in the dishwasher I don't know what I am doing but soon there will be no glasses left let alone plates AI break those too. Good Morning you,

Yes I did hear that news.. and it did not surprise Me given the economy. you should check out his website.. they normally have some great sales.. although with the shoe thing.. I am one that has to try them on.. same with the clothes.. unless it is a tie.. or something like that.. the rest.. watches, wallets, messenger bags.. etc.. I have bought online.

I did indeed have a good night's rest.. I hope you did as well..

Any plans for the weekend?

Hugs.

Good Afternoon You,

I'm the same way with shoes. I have to hold them and try them on. One of my favorite things from KC is my purse. I bought it a year ago and it still looks brand new.

I am watching Elijah today and tomorrow I am taking my Avon orders to my customers and no plans so far for Sunday. I'm thinking of going up to michael's and pick up a sketch pad to start that three point drawing I said I would do after I finished my classes.

I made a loaf of banana bread for my mom and another loaf of pumpkin and cranberry bread for myself.

How about you?

Hugs my friend,

Zimmy

Good morning everyone :)

Coffee is on, and I thought we could breakfast outside today...especially since our cold snap is over and it was back up in the 70s yesterday.

http://www.brooksidemountainmistbb.c...breakfast2.jpg

I'm still fighting a cold...so it's tea with lemon for me instead of coffee.

Poor Scoote had to work a killer day yesterday and could barely move when she got home. Luckily she's still asleep, so hopefully she'll get enough rest to feel a bit better today.

We're heading to the movies this afternoon since Rooster wants to see Tron...after that, who knows?

Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday! :gimmehug:

JakeTulane 12-18-2010 08:49 AM

Good Morning you,

I agree about the shoes. I was just telling one of My friends yesterday.. that has always been one thing that I will spend big money on.. because not only the length that they last.. however, also because of the wear and tear our feet take every single day. Nods.. I have a Kenneth Cole messenger bag.. and it looks and smells like I bought it yesterday and it is about 5 years old now.. love his stuff..

I have to do a bit of grocery shopping at some point today.. and I was going to do laundry as well.. really I want to do neither.. laughs..

Speaking of baking.. I went crazy yesterday.. given I do not bake and decided to make the cake mix (red velvet) that I had in the cupboard..laughs.. it actually turned out good..and I made a double layer because I could not find My long baking pan.. so I was worried...Also did movie night last night with My gay guy friend Rich.. he tried the cake and said it was good.. I think he was just being nice.. grins..

I also had another friend stop over.. who repierced My cartilage in My left ear. I took the barbell out about 3 weeks ago.. and it closed.. I could not believe it.. because I have had it pierced for a long time.. so I had to bite the bullet (literally..laughs). and had her just put a need through.. I know what you thinking.. I am crazy.. laughs

yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah for the drawing.. I hope you do it... I can not wait to see it when it is done.. smiles..

I hope you had a peaceful night's sleep and a good start to your day..

Big Hugs.
Jake

Good Morning Jo,

Thank you for the coffee .. breakfast outside sounds wonderful.. that would not be happening up here right now.. as you well know.. although the sun is finally out today.. so it is not nearly as bitter as it has been..

Sorry to hear about the cold.. tea works wonders.. get some vitamins in you too..maybe some echinacea . .. and My BFF swears by Ester C with goldenseal.. although.. I am guessing they are both something that has to be taken on a regular basis to ward off the cold.. laughs.. some help I am...huh? grins.

I hope scoote feels better too.. she needs to find another job.. that place is killing her.. physically as well as emotionally.. it does not sound like a fun place at all..

Have fun at the movies.. I hope you have a good rest of the day.. tell scoote Hi for Me..

Hugs

Get to feeling better and soon! Breakfast outside sounds wonderful and thank you for breakfast.

Have fun at the movies today. I'm still trying to financially afford a trip to spend New Year's Eve in Miami. My old roommate in Orlando invited me and I'm hoping I can go!

Hugs to you and your family,

Good Morning You,

I made my mom a loaf of banana bread yesterday and took it easy. My favorite pair if shoes from his company are my cedar wood wedges and my knee length boots. I kept them in the original boxes until I moved to Seattle. But they are wrapped up and in storage containers to keep them clean. Dust doesn't look good on patent leather.

I've never had the cartilage pierced in my ears, but when I was 16 my cousin took and froze my ear lobes and pierced them with a hat pin. The left ear didn't hurt, but the right ear wasn't iced enough, so I know what you mean about that kind of pain.

I found baking is relaxing and so is shopping. Red velvet cake is yummy, but my German chocolate...

I will post a picture of the drawing when I finish it.

Have fun today it's raining outside,

Zimmy

Hey You,

What else can I put in it? Hmm, maybe an Italian restaurant? We went to Target and Ross to pick up a few gifts for the kids. I picked up a pack of onesies for my bro's friend who is a single parent. His little boy is four months old.

Maybe a cup of coffee will help take my headache away.

Hugs back!!

Hey you,

Yes !!.. and Italian restaurant would be awesome (of course I am being biased because that is My ethnicity..laughs).. no really.. that would be cool..

awww.. that was sweet of you to get the onesies.. being a single parent is tough ... I have a couple of friends that are.. and I am sure your gifts will be appreciated..

The grocery was packed.. and I really did not want to go in the first place.. so that just made it worse.. especially when you have people that like to stop in the middle of the aisle and decide that is a great time to visit with someone else that is shopping.. and then when you say excuse Me and want to pass them by they look at you like you are an alien.. laughs.. however, atleast it is done..

I am having My french pressed goodness right now. Did you end up having some?

Hugs.

Dear Jo: sorry to hear you are under the weather and hope you get to feeling well asap!!!

Yeah Zimmy for picking up the pencils and the sketch pad!!!! Did you get my card yet?

Today it was raining all day here in GA, very cold and miserable weather. I did take my daily walk though and oh boy what a nut I am to walk in that weather. So that being said I could sure use a nice large cutsie mug of hot chocolate with marshmellows please!!!

I have a recipe for home made hot chocolate that I would love to cook up for ya'll. I buy unsweet chocolate (preferrably the kind from South America), add sugar or sugar substitute, milk, boil it up slowly. Take off the heat, then set it back to boil up again. Then stir it (actually one holds the heavy stick with both palms and twist it back and forth quickly) with this wooden utensil one can find in Hispanic grocery stores; wooden and works up a great foam! Drink up everyone!!!

Please stay warm, dry and as healthy as possible!!! Crawing back under the covers with a good book!

Zimmeh 12-18-2010 08:53 PM

Good Evening Kats,

Yes I did and thank you!! It is hanging on my front door next to Jake's card.

Thank you for the hot cocoa!

Night,

Good Evening You,

By the time I got everything put away, it was to late. If I have coffee late at night I won't sleep, but will be wired up.

I don't like rude people and that is why I usually shop first thing in the morning. You got it!!! My mom gave him all if my 2 year old nephew's baby clothes. I moved in with my best friend to help her out, but I'm having a really hard time finding a job here and that is why I'm moving back to Orlando. I'm going to continue my education even when I do get a job.

Hugs my friend and good night,

Zimmy

Good morning everyone :)

:bringcoffee: Sorry you're feeling sick Zimmy...drink lots of water and get as much rest as you can. I've still got this yicky cough, but did at least manage to sleep in a bit this morning, so that's good. Now I'm just relaxing on the couch, watching TV and having some coffee and toast.

I'm watching the movie Australia...makes me laugh. I love the scenery because it reminds me so much of when I lived in Queensland....but watching Nicole Kidman put her foot on a steer to hold it down while she brands it with a hot iron....LOL...yea right. Too funny.

We did a little Christmas shopping yesterday and I got everything I needed to be someone's (not too) secret Santa...just love that. :) It's all packed up and will go tomorrow...probably UPS so she has it in time. Then, off to the movies to see Tron...not what I expected but the Rooster and the Prince enjoyed it. Next on the list is the new Narnia movie...maybe tomorrow.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday. :gimmehug:

Zimmeh 12-19-2010 11:24 AM

We got it from the daycare that Elijah goes to. The poor little guy has had it since Thursday night. I tried crackers and it isn't working. I'm also laying down in my bed and I'm freezing.

Keep warm!

We got it from the daycare that Elijah goes to. The poor little guy has had it since Thursday night. I tried crackers and it isn't working. I'm also laying down in my bed and I'm freezing.

Keep warm!

Zimmy

The daycare breeds a lot germs that is for sure hope you get to feeling better, you may have to get something from your family care doctor..watching avatar for the first time and its weird with all those blue characters but I'll keep watching it have a better day Zimmy..

I'm feeling better than I did this morning and I had a bowl of chicken noodle soup and slept off and on today. I made a pot of coffee and I'm going to try and drink a cup so I can warm up.

I got the drawing almost half way done. Not sure if I should put Yankees or the Mets for Jake? I took a guess and put the Yankees.

Have fun today,

Zimmy

Good evening all :)

Chickens are almost done roasting and smell really good....have water on to cook the corn on the cob...and no idea if there will be anything else....might just be chicken, corn on the cob and bread & butter. My grandmother's idea of the perfect supper.

The call in nurse of my health insurance guided me to a diabetic-safe mucinex product....which is helping...but is also making me feel about half drunk (as she warned me might happen). I can see why she said "DON'T DRIVE" :giggle: Never fear....I think I can roast chickens in this state...and that's as dangerous as it gets around here tonight. :)

Zimmy, glad to hear you managed some soup....that's the best choice when you're feeling bad....warm, liquid...and hey, it's chicken soup! My inner Jewish grandma approves!

Morningstar...thank you for the cookies....we may be making some around here tomorrow (if I have my way). I just have to get the food dye for the icing...forgot I didn't have mine anymore (not the kind of thing you pay the movers to take 1300 miles).

Hugs to you all....enjoy the tail end of your weekend. :)
